against the Packers. I do and if my memory serves me correctly, in those days they alternated locations and it was the Giants turn to be home.
In 1961, we were beaten badly by Green Bay and we all thought it was because of the cold weather. And we thought the 1962 game would be different because in New York, the weather wouldn't be so bad.
But it was very cold and windy that day in Yankee Stadium and we lost 16-7 (?).
They didn't televise home games in those days so we had to go to my uncle's home who was able to turn his antenna around so we could watch the game.
I was 15 and heart broken. But that was the last time we faced the Packers in the Playoffs.
It is supposed to be cold this weekend in Green Bay. My wife is from that area and we travel there often to see her family. And when it is cold there, it is cold.
Hope we don't see another Ice Bowl.

In those days our running game was basically a screen pass to Webster. We never seemd to be able to power run.
we ran the screen a lot and the half back option a lot because of giffords great skill at running and throwing the football. remember he had been a running/throwing single wing back at USC. so that was a huge threat.
as i remember it, it was greenbay running game, a few good throws by starr to their huge tight end over the middle, and the fact that our offense never really got going against the greenbay "d". I was bummed out too.
But they didn't.
It has been observed by several posters on this site that us old timers are conditioned to see the GIANTS lose the big ones, fail to make it over the top. The repeated Championship failures against the Colts and the Packers are certainly the genesis of this feeling.
That said, I don't really harbor any ill will towards the Packers, even if they didn't let Vince Lombardi return to the GIANTS. It was a long, long time ago.
This year's GIANTS humbled Dallas in their own house to keep "Choke" Romo winless in the playoffs, reduce that crawling shit T.O. to tears, and further deepen the wrinkles on Jerry Jones face. I don't care what happens at Lambeau next weekend, it's already been a successful season.
