we were running the ball well and then we throw...Thomas gets loose and knocks the ball from Eli...Smith and Bradshaw among others need to settle down. And Burress...if you are going to shoot off your mouth...you'd better show up.
a bunch of missed opportunities but some huge breaks for us that evened it out
Bradshaw did an amazing job on 2 fumbles in the first half that played major roles
The defense has been outstanding. The amount of pressure they are getting on Brady is an excellent sign. If this can keep up the Giants are a few good drives away from being world champions
Also, the time of possession is heavily in the Giants favor right now, and that bodes well for the 2nd half. Although with the extended halftime, Im not sure how much of a role that will play
I think the drive of the game will be the Pats first drive of the 2nd half. The Giants have to set the tone there and let the Pats know that the 2nd half will be more of the same. Pressure on Brady, stuffing the run, and forcing punts.
They have to set the tone in the 2nd half
I actually feel great about our chances despite trailing 7-3
the O needs to get in gear to many dropped passes. I think we should come out with AB in the 3rd. for a series of 2. Eli is playing pretty good only 1 bad throw.
... call on Bradshaw? Had that ball gone out of bounds the refs wouldn't have said a damn thing. How about Thomas HOLDING Bradshaw keeping Bradshaw from recovering???
that New England's offense will make some adjustments. Let's just hope our defense matches those adjustments and our offense makes some adjustments of their own.
Leave ANY more points on the field??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
The effort's there, though. This defense is playing like madmen.
Regarding the offense, you're probably right that we're too jittery. It's excusable considering only 3 players have SB experience. That said, Plax lost track of the ball in the end zone on the 1st drive on the 1st down pass. Smith has to catch the ball that ended up being an INT. We could have 14 points right now. We're right there, I'm encouraged.
All of you complaining about Smith who is playing in about his fifth game as a pro while Plaxico drops a very easy one and Amani's only catch was a great pushoff which thankfully wasn't called. We need Amani and Plax to come up big.
Who's going to be the first offense to go to a razzle dazzle play
our offensive coordinator is horrible. How many times when we lose yards on 1st down do we either run the ball or throw that stupid screen. If I know its coming then obviously the pats do.
Plax has nothing, he is just trying to gut it out. Without him, our pass offense is pretty non-threatening. Passes to Bradshaw and Boss are a MUST in the second half. Don't count on holding NE down all game.
Droughns in the second half if Jacobs can't get going?
We've taken away the Patriots run game and that makes them one-dimensional. Dockery on Welker helps us so much this game cause he is the one guy who is quick enough to keep up with Welker who is there "bread n' butter" receiver.
Brady hurried more often this first half then maybe any half he's seen all season. The Pats offense is in second gear but the thing with them is they have big play deep speed so we can't get soft for one second else it could be a long TD bomb again.
Our defense needs to come out this second half and just nail Brady upside his nose once again.
Does the NFL really want a team that cheated to win the super bowl! These officials fucked us byu not calling pass interfernce on the last play. It was as bad as Antonio's!!!
is that we've created the Patriots turnovers and we've created ours too. The breaks have to start going our way....just keep playing hard.
And don't be an asshole and start posting on threads like the halftime and postgame threads while the game is still going on....obviously some fucktards can't read......
Maybe there's a good reason I'm not a television coordinator for one of these things, but is it bad camera positioning when there's a big microphone blocking the mouth the rock band's lead singer?
to Smith, and some of you guys are killing Smith?!? The blatantly obnoxious stupidity never ceases to amaze me. Eli is playing solid but if he holds that ball a 1/2 tick, he could've, that would've been a TD.
Smith is a fucking rookie, Randy fucking Moss would only catch a ball like that half the time. We're still in this.
He has showed up huge in the Super Bowl much like Carl Banks did in XXI. I am so happy that he's locked up.
This offense needs to get their act together. The biggest issues are: (1) dropped passes; (2) Jacobs not running as well as he can (I'm a huge fan of his, but he's just not right); and (3) the intangible mental gaffe factor (see, e.g., fumble on handoff).
But folks, don't discount the Pat offense and their getting the ball to start this second half. We could really get them reeling with a 3 and out.
I would hate for our defense to play superb all game and get into the fourth quarter with the game within a score and then give a deep one. The Pats offense and their team jsut win the close ones so we need to score TD's here. We had chances but choked.
WR Steve Smith didn't help us but he is also open more often then not and that has to have the Patriots worried this second half. Bradshaw has the stuff legends are made of, I think, and this game will be won on his back. Watch.
Tuck will nail Brady yet again this 3rd quarter and the Pats will need to keep the TE in the rest of the game along with their RB.
12-1-8. A player may not bat or punch a loose ball toward opponent's goal line. (10 yard penalty)
Not sure what would happen if a player tried to bat a loose ball out of bounds and it went forward a little bit. It is vague to say just "towards the opponent's goal line",
as the rule does.
is gonna end up being big. Get those old guys on the Pats suckin wind in the 4th and hit some big plays. Let's go Big Blue, 30 minutes of good football away from the Lombardi Trophy. All the mistakes are done with, back to the basics. Go out there and kick ass.
Don't be surprised if the Pats start trying to take advantage of the passrush by calling a lot of draws and screens. Especially slot screens to Welker.
We gotta be careful on this first play. I still think we haven't seen the best of Brady. Any time we give up three, we're good. Gotta stop any big plays. This first drive is absolutely crucial. If we can definitely weather the inevitable storm in the beginning of the half, then we have a chance.
Eli needs a long TD drive. NOTE, it must be a TD drive.
Get a clue. Steve Smith is not losing this game for us. The biggest play in the first half was the penalty on Pierce. The easiest catch that was dropped was by Burress who has been invisible in this game. I don't think the Giants were relying on Steve Smith to be their dominant receiver in the game. He's the only one getting open.
I heard them talking on ESPN radio earlier this week. They said the Giants play BIG BOY football. I think they did that in the first half. The PAts D was on the field over 19 minutes and Brady was hit many times. That is BIG BOY football. Mauroney 8 rushes 11 yards
Completely agree that the first drive of the second half is crucial.
They were only on the field for 20 minutes against the Packers, then they had a bye week, and theyve only been on the field for 10 minutes in the 1st half tonight
After reveiwing the tape (so to speak) the biggest play of the half
Was Smith not holding onto the ball and allowing the interception cause we were driving and likely to get some points and keep the Pats defense on the field. We have just seven more offensive snaps then the Pats and the key to this game, in my mind, was to be no worse then within 3 points of the Pats heading into the fourth quarter cause I thought our running game would really take over on those Pat LB's.
Therefore, we can't allow the Pats a scoring drive to open the second half. A 3 and out or better is key to keep the pressure of the world on their shoulders and make them think too much as their offense has sputtered a bit these last 8 games. I think Jacobs will eventually get past the DL untouched and with a tired LB corps he might just bust a long run on them. Same for Bradshaw.
Keep the pressure on Brady and hope he throws a duck too!
GO NYG!
Let's Go Giants!!!
Brady getting shellacked
Go Gints
3 drops
and that Hail Mary bounced right to him and he looked like he was daydreaming
We need points!!
I predicted Tuck and Strahan for MVP and I expect both will continue to dominate as they aren't playing as many snaps on Defense as you'd think.
Biggest play of the game is Smith not hanging on cause we were driving there and the momentum would have been all ours had we scored even a FG.
Keys to second half include:
1. Must get the Pats 3 and out or better on their opening possession.
2. Must run the ball effectively so the receivers are left "one-on-one" and Burress will beat his man.
3. Keep pressure on Brady and stuff their run game.
4. Need a big play from someone, somewhere cause that is what champs do.
Bradshaw did an amazing job on 2 fumbles in the first half that played major roles

Great job by the D!
Go Giants!!!!!!
The offense, specially the WR's, need to help Eli and the rest of the offense out.
I feel sick..
God I can't puke again
pats 10
and then people start questioning plax's psychic ability
The ref's have been invisible...thank you much.

It is DUE!!!
nice
Boy did Tommy Petty get old?????????

may have saved a turnover.
Bradshaw needs to be getting more carries. One or two plays and then to the sidelines makes ir hard to develop a rhythm.
Pierce's PI was the biggest play of the first half.
And don't be an asshole and start posting on threads like the halftime and postgame threads while the game is still going on....obviously some fucktards can't read......
You just can't blow these opportunities.
Lets wrap it it up in the 2nd half.
Gotta love that "D"!
Book it

They can win this

We should have a better time running the ball in the 2nd half. Our lines are dominating theirs.
I hope our special team will outplay their ST.
Watch for Moss and Welker in the second half.
Eli needs a long TD drive. NOTE, it must be a TD drive.
Run...Run...Playaction....Run.....Run....Playaction. Beat the shit out the MFers!!!!!
Remember how big the first possessions of the second half were in XXI and XXV?
Keep pressuring Brady. Sooner or later we'll come up with a big turnover
Offense has to execute, but the defense has to set the tone in the 2nd half here
The boys look good. They won the battle in the trenches in the first half.
I hope they win. I really do.
But they're much better than I thought. Much better.
So far, so good.

If we lose this we know who the blame falls on.
