Here is the breakdown of the Superbowl, which I just finished. For the last bunch of games I broke down, I usually focused on the running game. This time I broke down as many passes, and routes as I could. Play 42, I believe is the Boss 45 yard catch and run. Below is the stuff that's included in the overall breakdown of the superbowl.
Since the season is now over, here are the past game breakdowns I've done, so people can look back and compare formations, routes, and how defenses decided to play us that day.
1. Stat Breakdown
2. Formation Breakdown
3. Pass Breakdown
4. Run Breakdown 1 play
5. Play by Play Log
6. Play by Play Breakdown 8 pages
7. Front Composite
* Note Section 6 is JPEGS are alot bigger so that it's easier to see where players are lined up.
To get into it a little deeper.....let's take a formation that the Giants lined up in a lot (Ace Double Tight, or Pro Strong I Left)and see what plays they ran out of that set.
Plays are all up there. But we run alot of power, 27 or 28 power with Jacobs during the season out of that formation. Strong I also gives us flexibility because we can send Madison H. on a passing route as well. You high/low LBs and freeze them initially by running playaction. That's how Boss did so well. We ran the playoff PA, and froze everyone. Great play design in my opinion.
but my tests are easy.. Who played in the superbowl? Who won the game? Who is the MVP?
All NFL teams have all this done by computer, and their games get logged into the software. The stuff I did, is the equivalent to the dewey decimal system in the library back in the day. I basically did it long hand but this still provides some info in what we run and what we do. Interesting thing is that the Pats ran some 4-3 on us. They did the same to the Eagles in that superbowl as well. Just something which I didn't notice while watching the game, but they are pretty effective running a 4-3 on some downs.
I noticed that too. We were in 2nd and longs because our running game seemed to get 3 yards if that. Also, 3rd and longs was another down I kept seeing. We were always on the right hash, so I am guessing we wanted to take adv of that side of the defense. So basically the defense's left. We were always in the yellow zone, basically from 20 to 20 is where we were most of the game.
This is the type of thing these guys are seeing everyday. They are digesting this and within a week know how they are going to combat it out on the field.
Its amazing that when you look at this the difficulty in which it must take to get all this information together and yet understand it. And then to exicute it with a play named *x42 jet 69 trips etc, etc, etc)? This is why they make the money they do.
great job anish
Anish...care to lead the discussion??
Coach Andy Reid is on the phone for you.
and
The sound you hear is teams around the NFL downloading your files to study before next season begins.

That look like it took ages to do, much appreciated.
Great job on the breakdown
All kidding aside. This is incredible and thanks for what you have done.
