Please don't kill me..if discussed already..I'll delete.
Jeremy Shockey has finally gotten his wish.
The Giants have agreed to trade their disgruntled tight end to the New Orleans Saints for a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick, FOXSports.com has learned. The deal is pending league approval, according to a league source.
The compensation is the same the Saints offered New York back in April prior and during to the draft ... and it was turned down.
The move comes one day after Jason Taylor was traded from Miami to New York's NFC East rivals in Washington. According to a report on SI.com, the Giants had held discussions about a three-team trade in which they would have ended up with Taylor, the Saints would have landed Shockey and the Dolphins would have received a pair of draft picks. Man, even with all the drama, I'm going to miss Shockey like hell.
Shit.
Good Lord..
It will be funny now to see how he'll switch from being underrated to overrated around here...
I blame Rosenhaus, he took advantage of shockey's ego.
Championship.
Those two are completely correlative.
Still can't believe this is happening.
Also, frees up the money necessary for him to announce the finalization of Plax's new deal and the signing of Phillips and Thomas.
Interesting.
I loved Shockey's potential.....but he just didn't seem to ever put it all together!
The Saints had over 700 yards reciving from 2 guys that would not even make most teams. Shockey will go for 1000 yards and make the Bush matchup really tough.
I have said all spring/summer trade him but not to the Saints. Shockey goes back to being a playmaker/weapon not a TE.
Not so much.
Amazing that Shockey cost more than Jonathan Vilma and Jason Taylor. The Giants turned down the same offer in April, but decided that eliminating potential distractions was important enough to trade a good, young talent. They're also clearly confident in second-year man Kevin Boss taking over as a starter. Jul. 21 - 2:15 pm et

Now all you Shockey haters will see what life without Jeremy will be like.
And Reese did blow it. NO will be better this year and their draft pics will be worse.
I love Shockey...Always have, but the non stop reports and rumors, though maybe not coming from Shockey, but nor did he ever deny them, were getting old and drove into the ground...
Good luck to him in New Orleans...
And Johnson is a happy combination of the two.
We'll be fine at TE. Johnson was impressive pre-injury.
It started in week 17 against New England.
What am I missing?
