Baltimore - DC Maryland Suburbs: Locations for Lions Game

OntheRoad : 8/7/2008 3:24 pm
Last year I struck out during preseason at a sports bar in Columbia (Nottingham's) that normally has every NFL game on at least one screen. Apparently NFL preseason is trumped by baseball.

Would like to find a place for tonight's game, but am worried about it's being preseason and having the Ravens play at the same time.

Any suggestions for the best viewing location? Champs in Columbia Mall has been suggested as a good place, but have never been there and can't confirm.

Would appreciate any input.
I also live in columbia,

well borderline of ellicott city and columbia and I am not too confident the game will be anywhere. I asked a friend for recommendations and he mentioned the ones you already said. I would try champs its a nice place but I would not get your hopes up for the game.
Thanks for the Input

post their answer here. Or if you happen to find the game anywhere post it here. I have pretty much accepted that I will have to watch most of our games on the computer but if there is a bar showing the game I would much rather be there.
sure

I used to go there before I got Sunday Ticket, but that was for the regular season. To my knowledge, the preseason isn't included, and I don't know of any other way for Columbia bars to get the preseason games (well, if they subscribed to the New York stations (FOXE, CBSE, ABCE, etc.) they would get it, but why would they. Those stations are usually reserved for people who can't get those stations locally on their DirecTV.
Thanks Kevin,

and they always had the pre-season games at Champions Bar in the BWI Marriott on West Nursery Road. This was 4 years ago, so definitely call them to check.
I'm looking for a place to watch the game in Baltimore

I remember trying them a couple years ago and them not having it. You really need to find a place that still has the old school satellite dishes (like CCSP).

Never had any luck in the preseason. During the regular season, Mad River in Federal Hill and Looney's Pub in Canton Square were some of my favorites. There are actually a lot of Giant's fans (10 or so) who watch the games at Looneys
Is the game broadcast on Philly

stations?
If so

I would check with McGurk's in Federal Hill. They are a Philly bar and may have the Philly stations with their direct TV.

They offered to put the game up, but couldn't get the channel.

Sorry to whomever made the trip. I drove a half hour to get there. Didn't see any Giants jerseys, though.

Next time will have to be very specific about what channels they are able to get.
you must have just missed my post
