This is mentioned in the other thread but it deserves the attention. The Pro Bowl has steadily lost its meaning, IMO, but this year its being taken to new heights. With Dan Snyder actually campaigning to put Redskins in the Pro Bowl, this is what we currently have...
Jason Campebell (9th overall, 3rd NFC QB)
Clinton Portis (1st)
Santana Moss (1st)
Chris Samuels (1st)
Stephon Heyer (5th)
Cornelius Griffin (1st)
Kedrick Gholston (2nd)
Jason Taylor (3rd)
Rocky McIntosh (5th)
London Fletcher (1st)
Marcus Washington(4th)
Sean Springs (1st)
Carlos Rogers (2nd)
Chris Horton (1st)
LaRon Landry (1st)
Shawn Suisham (1st)
Ryan Plackemeier (1st)
Fan votes only count for like 30% right? Thank God for that this year, if that's what that clown is doing in Washington. "Yay, our entire roster made the Pro Bowl but we couldn't win a game in the playoffs" - hoping thats what happens
Im not campaigning to have Giants players in there instead of the 'Skins, but it really rubs me the wrong way. I dont even know why. Its a freakin' joke and only makes me absolutely despise Danny Boy more than ever. 7 starters on the defense will be Redskins. Thats a joke.
be allowed to vote on the pro bowl or any other all star game in sports. Its a very stupid way to elect who gets to go. The only people who should vote on this is coaches, gms, players, and maybe some media people. Fans are just dumb when it comes to voting.
I've got it backwards than. Well that sucks...might as well just paint the Redskins logo in one of the endzones. Hmm Redskins vs AFC Allstars...wonder who wins that one
either way, it is significant. Pro bowl has been a mockery for years. It's based most off reputation, so guys get in long after their play has declined. It's a free Hawaii trip for players who have done the best at being popular.
comes when you are an NBA reserve. The 7 bench players are selected by only the leagues coaches. The 5 starts are voted in by the fans though and in past years theres been some ridiculous selections (Penny and Grant Hill a bunch of years where they played like 2 games) but still over half the roster is legit
Baseball is a joke, Fans completely vote in the starters, the bench players i believe are selected by only 1 manager, the defending league champ manager, and he can inflate his team with his own guys. They also have this silly rule which im not sure is written or unwritten about every team needing to be represented
Does a single Giant lead voting at their respective position? We lead the league in rushing and its quite possible that none of our offensive lineman or starting RB are honored. Yes, Plax, Michael Johnson, Eli and others are too high, but its not comparable to what Danny Boy is doing.
Whether or not the Giants players are too high is irrelevant. What is relevant is that there is constant campaigning on this site and I'm sure every other Giants site to vote for our guys for the Pro Bowl, Player of the Week, Air and Ground, and whatever other BS awards are out there.
To me there is only one of these things that's worth anything...the All-Pro Team. All positions are considered and it's voted upon by people that are actually around the game 24/7. The rest is pretty much meaningless.
just like the All-Star game in baseball has simply turned into a popularity contest. Coaches and players should only be able to vote for players on other teams. A fan's vote should have ZERO credibility. Being selected by your peers is the ONLY true way to make the Pro Bowl.
it makes me wonder if perhaps Snyder has paid people to sit at a computer all day and just continue voting the Skins in. Look how much of a lead some of these players have.

should put up banners for all the off-season championships they've won, to go with their championships in Hawaii. The stuff from September through January? Not so much.
