Weaknesses:
Does not have great timed speed...Isn't real quick or sudden...Has room to improve as a route runner...Just average hands...Struggles to get separation...Not much of a deep threat...Inconsistent effort and concentration ...Conditioning?... Did not play against top competition.
He doesn't get separation against low competition? And you see him as a #1 in the NFL
With a solid combine, he can move into round 3. I personally don't think he'll have a good combine (especially in the 40 yard dash) so the fifth round is not out of the question.
none of the top WRs other than Britt really excite me...and even with Britt I wouldnt be suprised if he falls to us in the second round (Saints pick). Unless his measurables are better than what is anticipated, I see him a mid 2nd rounder and would love to scoop him up there. I want DT or LB in Round 1.
Your enthusiasm reminds me of mine when I was your age; my confidence in my ability to pick out what I'll call "secondary" talent has gone down a lot over the years, however.
What I do in the beginning of each college football season is identify our weaknesses (in this case, I thought this would be Toomer's last season. I never imagined what would happen to Plax) and based on hype and measurables alone, I watch players. I'll watch games simply for players
The McNeese State game was cancelled and not rescheduled...any chance you just looked at a Cal Poly schedule and pulled a couple of teams off of it to answer yat's question???
I wasn't going to mention Britt in a Barden thread, but it's inevitable as he's the other guy with big size. RoadWarrior is wrong about his speed, he definitely can take it to the house.
I see Nicks as a good #2. Think Boldin, Marshall, or Housh. Britt is the guy if Plax is out the door.
for the breakdown on Rutgers TE Kevin Brock vs. Fresno TE Bear Pascoe. We were told right here on BBI that by the end of the season Brock would be a better NFL prospect than Pascoe. Then again, Courtney Greene is a 1st round draft pick and Stevie slaton can't run in between the tackles.
NFL draft is and always will be a crapshoot.
Yes, some Cal Poly games are available on the east coast to those who have DirecTV.
scouting job on WRs. Looks like a good deep WR draft for Jerry. Quite a few middle and late rounders with some flash. I would not mind going Britt in two. Numbers indicate he can take it to the house.
...Ramses Barden, Cal Poly-SLO
Height: 6-6. Weight: 226.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.
Projected Round (2009): 4.
1/4/09: Thanks to his impressive side, Ramses Barden had 67 receptions, 1,257 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior.
10/19/08: The only Mustang of note, Ramses Barden has at least 131 yards and a touchdown in every game this season. ...
He can help on special teams as he moves up the WR depth chart. And it would give the Giants the Wildcat option if they so choose.

There will be a bit of a learning curve as a WR, but believe me, it will not be that long. Pat has the potential to be a #1 WR. He reminds me a lot of Marvin Harrison (WR Indianapolis Colts). He has that same type of speed and quickness to go along with the football intelligence that Marvin shows on the field week after week. Pat might be a bit stronger and bigger than Marvin and, although Pat has not played much at the WR position in college, I believe it will be very easy for him to change positions at the next level because of his intelligence. Pat White has passion when he plays football and leaves it all out on the field.
Boylhart gives him a second round grade and had this to say about him...

As soon as Juaquin learns the tricks of the trade, he will become one of the main cogs in a team's passing game. He should become a QB's best friend because he has excellent hands. Juaquin will learn how to get deep and when he does, he will become a very difficult WR to cover one on one...Juaquin has the ability to become a #1 WR, but it will take some time.
Milton, his hands stood out for me, along with his good size
if the kid improves as quickly as he has this year, he could very well turn into a #1 WR. Before that can happen, he will have to learn to deal with the bump and run, get stronger, run much better routes and learn to get deep. In the meantime, he should be a pretty good punt returner.

You're like a broken record. I'm assuming the Slaton stuff is directed at me. And true to from you're full of sh1t again. I never said he "couldn't run between the tackles". I questioned it and his inflated numbers in that offense. He had a down Sr year. He fell short on the workouts. And it killed him on draft day. But don't let that stop you from posting the same line another 20 times this month.
Brock had a down year. I expected a lot more this year. It isn't over for him. He stillhas a shot at the NFL. Pascoe? He's nothing. Overrated early in the year. Not impressed with him. The guy can't really run and he could go undrafted.
Greene also had a down 1.5 years and it will certainly hurt his draft value. I've posted this about Greene and Brock already. I'm sure you'll want to go over it again in another 2-3 days.
The funny part is all of this comes from the clown who ripped Coughlin's coaching ability for years. Should we go over that kind of brilliance time and again. You know...the stuff about TC that was only apparent to the real football guys "who really know the simple game of football".
I don't speak for KWALL. He loves Brock a lot. I think he's ok, not bad, not great. Not every Rutgers fan is alike, just like not every WVU fan is, or every Giants fan for that matter.
My crush on Brock ended after the big drop early in the year. I really thought he would explode this year based on the way he runs and the massive improvement last year. He didn't. But he's a big guy who can run and catch. And his blocking isn't bad. He's got a shot at the NFL.
It wouldn't surprise me if he ran in the high 4.7s and got drafted late.
Listen to his interviews and it's clear that he's figured out how crucial the non-physical aspects of the game are. That's why I think he'll impress at the Senior Bowl.

One of the guys to keep an eye on at Sr Bowl. Big jump in competition for Barden. It can expose him or push him into top 30-40.
He's more a possession receiver in my eyes.
Only two receivers who excite me in the first are Crabtree and Heyward-Bey. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Ramses in the 4th or 5th though.

Juaquin Iglesias, Oklahoma
Height: 6-1. Weight: 201.
Projected 40 Time: 4.44.
Projected Round (2009): 2.
1/4/09: A dynamic receiver for Sam Bradford, Juaquin Iglesias recorded 69 receptions, 1,092 yards and 10 touchdowns.
10/19/08: This guy just keeps getting better. Juaquin Iglesias broke out against Kansas, catching 12 balls for 191 yards.
5/22/08: Despite Malcolm Kelly's presence on the team, Juaquin Iglesias led the Sooners with 68 receptions, 907 yards and five touchdowns.
