Romeo Crennel to take over as ND DL Coach?

even if it's just a year, that would be fine. They hired Bryant Young as a graduate assistant this week, so Romeo can groom him to be the DL coach when he leaves..

to not even a coordinator. i don't see it happening.

there has been quite a few former head coaches that have done that. It is not like Crennel has alot of options right now. He has close ties to Weis and I am sure Crennel will help with coordinating the whole defense as well as devising defensive schemes. Fassel went from HC to QB coach, Callahan went from HC to o-line coach. Bill Belichick went from HC to D-Backs coach (asst. head coach). Jim Mora jr. went from HC to secondary coach (to now HC).

If I were them I would be worrying about my health.

it's rumors on the Notre Dame premium board, which I can't link because you have to have the membership to read it.

The mods on the message board aren't denying it, basically just saying wait and see.

They haven't hired a DL coach yet and Romeo has said there won't be any announcement until he has hip surgery, which I believe is this coming week.

Chance Carter said the staff told him who the d-line coach was going to be and everyone will be "shocked" and "excited" when they find out who it is.

I'm hoping the Irish do well next year :).
