trainer, but that sure does sound "intense". He gained around 10% of his body weight in solid muscle in 8 weeks??? Doesn't look like the guy had hardly any fat to burn. Genetics I guess...
Though, I have a very hard time believing that's over a two month period. Naturally, hell even unnaturally that kind of transformation isn't happening that fast. I think they "forgot" to add the year to the dates.
We have no idea when the other picture was taken. Lighting could be different; he may have just lifted as opposed to not lifting. I highly doubt he did 'roids. PSU does not have that reputation; hell, there were days when I wish some of those guys were using to make them better...
On a thread last night, some people were dubious of some times from the PSU pro day. I actually think theirs is reliable. Historically speaking, it has not been a "big performance" pro day, typically the times are not fast and I have never known anyone to run better than expected at their pro-days in the past.
There are abundant levels of testosterone as you are in your early twenties. When I left college I had about 6-9 months of nothing before I started working and I lived at the gym and got big in a hurry. I was accused of taking roids, but I was 100% clean.
IF that growth took place at 30 or 35 or older then you have to wonder.
agreed, he is what, 20 yrs old. My freshman year of college I put on about 20 lbs in 3-4 months of lifting (no, not beer weight) and I am not a pro athlete nor was in a major football program's traing regimen.
In the brighter lighting the definition is less visible. He also may be less tense in the early picture. The same trick is used for products that claim to regrow hair. Bright light for thin haired people = bald. Less light and the hair is more apparent. In addition the afterpicture is a higher resolution. No doubt that Maybin became more defined after a few months of work, but the lighting and 'flexing' makes it look far more drastic.
Sure, it's not hard to put in weight when you're that
age. My senior year of high school I used to drop down every week to compete in the 129 weightlifting weight class. I know, crazy. 1.5 year later in college and lifting 5-6 days a week while hitting a bit of a spurt, I was up to 205. I also got accused of steroids a lot, but was completely clean.
The difference is I also, along with most people, put some fat on during that gaining period. By those pictures, he has not added an ounce of fat. Sure it's easy to put on 20 pounds, but 25 pounds of pure muscle in 8 weeks. Sorry. Get his genes to the lab for study because we would have found the prototype for the perfect human being. Sure, Maybin is a small DE, but some of you really think he was playing at 227, or let himself get that thin for the combine?? The dates are off. Or like I said, may be right for the sake of them not lying in their ad, they just didn't include the years.
I lean towards the answer being inaccurate dating or HGH/Roids.
pfffft
