"There isn't a better representation of a student-athlete than UCF's Sha'reff Rashad. The senior safety excels as much off the field as he does on it."
He's about 6', 200 lbs...runs in the mid 4.5's, not big enough to be a SS, not quite as fast as most NFL FS. He was a FS at UCF and I would guess that's where we are giving him a look at. A GREAT, GREAT character guy, hard worker, extremely bright kid. Very easy to root for and he makes plays, I think the people that make it to camp will really like this kid. With our safety situation, it wouldn't shock me at all to see him make the team.
I grew up in Albany, NY and rooted for the Cuse my entire life. Moved to FL and went to UCF. I like them both, extremely simple stuff here...not surprising that FDnS can't understand that.
so my friend who i played football with in highschool is maurice evans and his facebooks says "Maurice 'Slice Grizzly' Evans is officially a NEW YORK GIANT"
Great shopemore year at penn-state had 12 sacks, but off the feild issues on his jr year lead to a bad season for him. plays DE should of stayed one more year imo.
I'd be bitter if I were you guys too..........very bitter.
Get the help that is available to you and have a great life. They are doing some great thing for mental illness these days, some even for free. Life is precious and being so angry and bitter is no way to live.
Also, the chatter about WVU is great........I can always count on you guys to mention WVU in some way, shape or form. It's actually a thing of beauty.
One lives in his mother's basement and pretends to know everything about anything sports. The other pretends to be a football player from Syracuse whose ass weighs a ton. All good from where I'm sitting boys, all good!
4? didn't know that. we about to be devoid of Syracuse grads when/if Tyree moves. i played with Will Allen for a couple years and a couple PS guys with NY - having the Cock obviously knocked any chance of Fiametta getting taken in the later rounds and Durand isn't that good at the T spot - but i have a feeling we'll see more Cuse players in the League soon enough.
clearly you don't have a fuckin clue. It's all good baby. You've never strapped on the pads, never played the game. We all understand that. No big deal.
You bitch and moan, complain and wax poetic about conspiracy theories, referee incompetence, umpire ineptitude - that's all you do on this board. Other than taking rivals.com information and trying to make it your own. All good.
I won't insult you personally b/c I don't know you personally - my original comment regarding WVU was t-i-c - not meant as a slight at all. Interesting that you blow up and start spouting more nonsense and insults directed at Yours Truly and BBB. Just having some fun here, bud.

But continue on, please - business as usual. You make me laugh with your posts from time to time - and that's really all i expect from a message board.
Can the idiots stop fighting on an official thread? Â
it's intersting because by default you're seeing who Robinson recruited during his tenure here. They've got about 8 or 9 players who have decided to leave the program - some of them were projected as TS players and named on the DC. That tells me that Marrone is asking something from these guys that they weren't expecting - namely work and commitment. After all, Robinson didn't even test-out in the weight room. There were NO measurables in his S&C program. That's straight insanity. I think Marrone was the right pick - he's an alum -he's personal with the program's success. They won't be great in the next couple years - but they'll improve - Marrone will recruit - and they'll be B-E in 3 years.
I've never heard of that on any level in football, high school, college, or pro. Considering Robinson's background at Texas and in the NFL...I find that absolutely unbelievable.
we used to run 16 110's before the start of camp - I ran with the skill guys so it was 15 seconds with a 45 second standing rest. if you didn't make it, you ran it until you made it - day after day after day - however long it took.
We were tested in the weight room, coaches overseeing everything - and believe me, you'd better fuckin make your lifts. You'd better be prepared for pressure. That environment makes you tough.
Apparently Robinson didn't require such vigor from his players and coaches.
put these whiny kids to bed? I know it's been aday and they are tired, but this is a thread for free agents signings not grade school arguments. Grow up or go to bed.
i know we are supposed to keep this to just giants... Â
Michigan State QB Brian Hoyer signed with the Patriots. I felt bad they had a camera in his house following him and he didn't get drafted so good for him that he got picked up.
Eagles signed RB Marcus Thigpen. With Westbrook, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Victor "Macho" Harris, Quentin Demps, and now Thigpen, I wonder if Andy Reid knows that usually there can only be one return man on kickoffs and punts.
Is on the phone with the KC Chiefs, my roommates girlfriend and Norwood are real good friends and went to HS together she text my roommate saying their on the phone and talking. I'll let you guys know more when i find out. I guess Norwood decided to stay up here in State College and wait it out with a few friends.
it's gonna be tough to convince UDFA that a young, deep team with 9 picks provides woundrous opportunities to make the final roster. Maybe at safety or interior line, but otherwise...
The New York Giants have agreed to contract terms with former Weber International University CB Vince Anderson, Scout.com has confirmed. Link - ( New Window )
This is a golden opportunity for some undrafted Safety prospect. Surprising that with 10 picks in the draft, the Giants didn't fill the spot. Hopefully they can now.
If you're looking for a late-round sleeper, there's probably no better one than Webber International University CB Vince Anderson.
Anderson had virtually no chance of getting drafted a few months ago, but teams have started to do their homework on the NAIA product, and after his tape has been reviewed, the 6'2" defensive back has started to get attention.
As noted several weeks ago by Scout.com, Anderson is set to make a pre-draft visits with the New York Giants and Oakland Raiders, and he's expected to work out for the Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New England Patriots before the draft.
****Giants sign Otis Wiley, Safety, Michigan State Â
I remember someone here on BBI mentioned this guy before the draft. He visited the Giants in the pre-draft process. crappy rocky soundtrack - ( New Window )
Beckwith now going to the way of Ali Highsmith. Highly touted at the beginning of the year and discussed as possibly high picks...then they go undrafted.
"Notes: At least four Georgia players reached agreements to sign as undrafted free agents as of Sunday night.
Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe will sign with Baltimore, according to his agent James "Butch" Williams. Ellerbe, who shared a Sports Illustrated cover with Stafford and Moreno before last season, had off-field issues early in his college career, but led Georgia in tackles as a junior before having only 33 as a senior when he was slowed by a knee injury.
Fullback Brannan Southerland plans to sign with the New York Jets, his mother said.
Receiver Kenneth Harris said he will sign with New Orelans and receiver Demiko Goodman said he will sign with Pittsburgh."
I've been thinking he'll be a stud for the last four years. Tremendous speed but never put it all together. If we didn't have Hedgecock I would have been pushing hard for us to sign Southerland. Would have loved for us to sign Ellerbe as well.
interview with scout.com. click on the cached version of the 3rd link. unfortunately, the direct link won't post here on bbi because the google url is too convoluted. scout.com via google - ( New Window )
not sure what the timing of it means. obviously everybody is scrambling to get guys signed, so maybe the 3-year term sweetens it and they give him a little more bonus. it really doesn't matter though since they can be cut with virtually no consequences for the cap.
it's been said that it's better to be a udfa than a 7th round pick because potentially you have more options. this may be such a case. you are probably right though, there is probably some variation in the contract terms for udfas.
Kenny Ingram (6'6" 230) OLB: Personally one of my favorite potential NFL players. He came in out of JUCO as a SS, but moved to LB his Sr. year. He's a big hitter and is great in coverage. He still has room to grow because he was trying to stay slim to stay at safety. Still learning how to play LB, but is a great athlete for the position and could start out as a nickle LB and grow into a full time player. Late rounds or UFA.
Ingram, who has an internship to complete his degree in rehabilitative services this summer, has been working out with former FSU assistant track coach Tom Shaw in Orlando. Some teams are interested in Ingram as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. Others see the 235-pound Ingram as a safety.
Defensive end Kenny Mainor, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in the team’s third game, was invited by the New York Giants for a tryout on May 7. The team wants to see how his knee holds up, but Mainor participated in all Pro Day drills for scouts.
Another interesting note in this blog, only one Miami Hurricane drafted this year (Spencer Adkins.) That's pretty crazy when you think of how many NFL players were produced by that program. Link - ( New Window )
POSITIVES: Explosive defender who plays with a nasty streak. Fires off the snap, quickly shoots the gaps of the offensive line, and nicely redirects to the action. Possesses a short burst of speed bearing down on ball handlers.
NEGATIVES: Easily controlled at the point by a single blocker or altogether engulfed by opponents. Marginally productive, and has never been a consistent starter.
ANALYSIS: Hendricks is a size/speed prospect whose abilities on the field pale in comparison to his athletic skills. He's a developmental prospect, but he must quickly produce in camp this summer for any chance of sticking on a practice squad.
But nice shout out by Ralph, linking to this thread.

And second, I’ve found two places that are doing a great job of keeping track: The people over at BBI are keeping a thread open with updates and discussions. And there’s a full (and unofficial) list of league-wide signings at NEPatriotsDraft.com.
most picks seem to have a skill set that we didn't have on our current roster.
A very physical receiver.
A big, physical LB that can blitz- remember how we couldn't stop Jamal Lewis?
A TE with speed- can stretch the field, can cause matchup problems in the green zone
A WR who can run the fade.
Plus the project players at crucial positions and the depth. I'm stoked about this draft.
now I know he doesn't have a lot of experience, but sure looks fast out there, sure tackler and showed ability to lay the lumber. very interested to see if this kid surprises us. he seems like a LB that could be fast enough to stick with a TE in coverage too.
sign Alex Field, from UVA, according to the UVA insider website I read (via a patriots blog)
Quote:
NFC East
Giants
DE Maurice Evans (Penn State)
DE Alex Field (Virginia)
S Otis Wiley (Mich State)
S Kenny Ingram (FSU)
CB Vince Anderson (Webber International)
S Sha'reff Rashad (UCF)
But a couple Canes that may be on our radar (I know we were present at their pro day)
Quote:
Cornerbacks Bruce Johnson and Carlos Armour, receiver Kayne Farquharson, linebacker Glenn Cook and tackle Reggie Youngblood are among those still searching. Don't be surprised to see Johnson and Youngblood wind up with the New York Giants. Also, former troubled UM linebacker Willie Williams, who transferred after his freshman season, was picked up by the Green Bay Packers.
Bruce Johnson is fast enough but couldnt even get 1 rep at the combine.
Cook is a guy who was basically the Antonio Pierce of Miami's defense. I find it hard to believe a guy so under-talented at the collegiate level will be able to do anything at the pro level but he is very smart.
Kayne is fast but doesnt really have great hands and is very unpolished.
Overall dont see any of the UM guys doing much. One caveat, Jon Beason never stood out that much and I didnt think he would turn into much in the NFL. The Canes have been so undermanned the last few seasons from Coker's horrible recruiting that some good players have underperformed and flown under the radar (I would consider Kenny Phillips in this category as well).
It's you who doesn't have a clue. Yes, if I was a Cuse football player and have watched WVU kick their asses up and down the field for this many years I would be bitter and angry as well. If I was as stupid and ignorant as you are, I would show my anger on a regular basis as you do on BBI. Your misery is obvious each and every day. Live it up bro!
As far as BBB, love the picture...........thanks, the obsession is flattering! Seek help, report back to us with updates, have a good life. Life is meant to enjoy, as the picture you posted so clearly shows.
None of them would make the team. Armour would have the best chance because he's athletic and would be able to help on special teams. I hope a few of them can stick somewhere but I don't think that it's likely.
a kicker to camp, we must get a new kicker, one that can kick inside the five and can not give fans heart attacks every time they go onto the field. also preferably one who chooses not to kick the ball out of bounds at critical times as well.
I'm a big fan of his potential if he gets his head right and adds some speed/strength... PSU's strength program is lacking in explosiveness, so let's hope there is potential there.
I believe he was projected as an all-american heading into last season before getting into trouble. Was a big-time playmaker in previous years.
Is this who we have signed so far out of the Undrafted Rookies Â
- Vince Anderson, CB, Weber International
- Maurice Evans, DE, Penn State
- Alex Field, DE, Virginia
- Darius Hill, TE, Ball State

Man, with all of the draft picks, and these UR's this years camp is going to have some great battles going on.

big, physical, fast enough, just very little production (788 total yards). He's had horrible QB play throughout his career, but the problem is he's simply not a finished product. A solid candidate for the practice squad.
1. Why did Maurice Covington come out if he had a year left? Wasn't he only a junior? BTW, I've seen a bunch of UVA games and this kid could be good not that I could see how he would fit here.
2. Same question for Evans, DE from Penn State. I can't believe the guy went from all american after his sophomore year and then went undrafted.

In the weeks before the draft, several teams seemed to show interest in signing Randolph. The offensive line coach from the Jets acted especially impressed. The Dolphins were intrigued. As were the Redskins, Ravens and Giants. One team had him at the top of a list marked "priority free agents." And yet as the draft concludes and Stevens frantically calls team after team, the answer is coldly the same. No. Link - ( New Window )
