Swank signed somewhere else. The two best available K who I have not seen signed elsewhere are Sakoda (Utah) and Martinez (UTEP)

will be visiting rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

Draft Daddy also has Britt Davis signing with New York, but doesn't specify which team.

according to profootballtalk, he signed with the Browns - http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/
One thing that impresses me about this draft is that
phil in arizona : 4/27/2009 12:50 pm : link
most picks seem to have a skill set that we didn't have on our current roster.

A very physical receiver.
A big, physical LB that can blitz- remember how we couldn't stop Jamal Lewis?
A TE with speed- can stretch the field, can cause matchup problems in the green zone
A WR who can run the fade.

Plus the project players at crucial positions and the depth. I'm stoked about this draft.
AdamBrag, I agree
nyynyg : 4/27/2009 12:50 pm : link
now I know he doesn't have a lot of experience, but sure looks fast out there, sure tackler and showed ability to lay the lumber. very interested to see if this kid surprises us. he seems like a LB that could be fast enough to stick with a TE in coverage too.
ok crap, posted that in the wrong forum

Giants

sign Alex Field, from UVA, according to the UVA insider website I read (via a patriots blog)

Quote:
NFC East
Giants
DE Maurice Evans (Penn State)
DE Alex Field (Virginia)
S Otis Wiley (Mich State)
S Kenny Ingram (FSU)
CB Vince Anderson (Webber International)
S Sha'reff Rashad (UCF)

FWIW, not sure if they are all verified.

But a couple Canes that may be on our radar (I know we were present at their pro day)
Quote:
Cornerbacks Bruce Johnson and Carlos Armour, receiver Kayne Farquharson, linebacker Glenn Cook and tackle Reggie Youngblood are among those still searching. Don't be surprised to see Johnson and Youngblood wind up with the New York Giants. Also, former troubled UM linebacker Willie Williams, who transferred after his freshman season, was picked up by the Green Bay Packers.

Undrafted `Canes try to find NFL homes - ( New Window )
As a former Cane
Eric on Li : 4/27/2009 6:53 pm : link
Youngblood's lazy but talented

Bruce Johnson is fast enough but couldnt even get 1 rep at the combine.

Cook is a guy who was basically the Antonio Pierce of Miami's defense. I find it hard to believe a guy so under-talented at the collegiate level will be able to do anything at the pro level but he is very smart.

Kayne is fast but doesnt really have great hands and is very unpolished.

Overall dont see any of the UM guys doing much. One caveat, Jon Beason never stood out that much and I didnt think he would turn into much in the NFL. The Canes have been so undermanned the last few seasons from Coker's horrible recruiting that some good players have underperformed and flown under the radar (I would consider Kenny Phillips in this category as well).

It's you who doesn't have a clue. Yes, if I was a Cuse football player and have watched WVU kick their asses up and down the field for this many years I would be bitter and angry as well. If I was as stupid and ignorant as you are, I would show my anger on a regular basis as you do on BBI. Your misery is obvious each and every day. Live it up bro!

As far as BBB, love the picture...........thanks, the obsession is flattering! Seek help, report back to us with updates, have a good life. Life is meant to enjoy, as the picture you posted so clearly shows.

Are you kidding me? You're picking back up on your internet fight from last night on this thread? Grow the fuck up.
Of those Canes
Will Allen/Peterson : 4/27/2009 8:48 pm : link
None of them would make the team. Armour would have the best chance because he's athletic and would be able to help on special teams. I hope a few of them can stick somewhere but I don't think that it's likely.
Not on this thread Scooter

So who of this group has a chance ?
Pete in VA : 4/27/2009 9:55 pm : link
Wiley or Rashad at safety?
I would say the Michigan State FS
Bino5 : 4/27/2009 10:22 pm : link
and maybe the DE from PSU.

nyynyg : 4/27/2009 11:07 pm : link
a kicker to camp, we must get a new kicker, one that can kick inside the five and can not give fans heart attacks every time they go onto the field. also preferably one who chooses not to kick the ball out of bounds at critical times as well.
Best Chance
AdamBrag : 4/27/2009 11:28 pm : link
Wiley from Michigan St. probably has the best shot by a lot if he proves he can return punts.

Vince Anderson will likely get a nod as a practice squader.

Ingram has an outside shot at making it because he can contribute with his special teams skills. He'd have to make it over Wiley and Cargile though.

In order for Evans to make it he'll have to beat out Tollefson which I doubt happens.
If Evans works hard he can make the practice squad
Bino5 : 4/27/2009 11:56 pm : link
he has talent, but made some bad decisions in college.
Patriots site....
Ed A. : 4/28/2009 1:00 am : link

According to KFFL...Wiley ( S ) went with Detroit...

Thanks lono...
Ed A. : 4/28/2009 1:22 am : link
Too bad, he appeared to be the best of the signings at a position of need. I guess Detroit upped the ante.

CB Bruce Johnson
XxVDSxX : 4/28/2009 7:11 am : link
has signed according to Garafolo (Twitter)
Sorry for us that Wiley went elsewhere...
BigBlueBrethren : 4/28/2009 8:24 am : link
Very happy for Sha'reff...he's got a real good chance to stick.
Maurice Evans
mnes33 : 4/28/2009 8:44 am : link
I'm a big fan of his potential if he gets his head right and adds some speed/strength... PSU's strength program is lacking in explosiveness, so let's hope there is potential there.

I believe he was projected as an all-american heading into last season before getting into trouble. Was a big-time playmaker in previous years.
Is this who we have signed so far out of the Undrafted Rookies
G-Men43 : 4/28/2009 9:24 am : link
- Vince Anderson, CB, Weber International
- Maurice Evans, DE, Penn State
- Alex Field, DE, Virginia
- Darius Hill, TE, Ball State
- Kenny Ingram, S, Florida State
- Kenny Minor, DE, Troy
- Sha'reff Rashad, S, Central Florida
- Otis Wiley, S, Michigan State

Man, with all of the draft picks, and these UR's this years camp is going to have some great battles going on.
