RIP Hope J

SecondCVA : 12/10/2009 1:45 pm
Hope was found dead today in her apartment. Cause of death is unknown.

Pray for her as she would have and has prayed for all of you.

Those are all the details I have.

For those of you that knew her personally, Kevin requests that you please do not call her mother.

I can be reached at rockythmpsn@yahoo.com or my regular email for those that have it.

As the details become available I will have someone post them here.

Just a great woman, very sad day on BBI...

Horrible news. I wish it were a joke....
Thank you Hope!

Every time I had a medical situation from cancer to my heart, Hope always was there for me on this board. Always followed up and asked.

We were a better world with her here but I guess God needed her more!!

All of my prayers to her family and to all of us here on BBI
I am flabbergasted

I've met and hung out with Hope, and I can't believe she's gone. It can't be true. It just can't be.

She is one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She is sweet, warm, accepting, funny, caring, the whole 9 yards. Running into her at the Superbowl 42 was an awesome coincidence. I'm walking on line, and I see these two women walking in front of me by several paces, and I said to myself, "That looks like Hope." And it was. We swapped some pics, and she told me that she was there to help scatter some of Dave in MD's ashes, which she did do with Sam Madison's dad helping.

I don't pray, but I'll pray for her. What a terrible loss. It can't be true. I'll miss you very much Hope. RIP

I have a pic of hope that I'm having a hard time posting. Click the link and post away. Thank you.

That's a shame. Thoughts and prayers to her family and loved ones.

but a charming and very very sweet woman in this forum. Very sad news, but I have little doubt she is on her way to a better place.
I am never one who finds himself speechless,

but I honestly don't know what to say here. What a sick, empty feeling this gives to my stomach.

What a huge loss for the world.
Though I never had the chance to meet Hope...

because everyone who knew you was so clearly already blessed by just knowing you, and in my case just hearing of the gracious things you've done and the words you typed.

This place is seriously going to miss her. No exaggeration, that woman is the reason this community exists so strongly -- she was indeed the moral compass and sanity of this board. We all have to pitch in so much to approach the dignity and charity and love of football she brought us.
Hopefully the Giants will find some way to honor her.
Giants in 07 : 12/10/2009 2:07 pm : link
One of their most loyal fans around.

We owe it to ourselves as well as Hope for everything she has done for us in our personal lives to honor her in any way we can.

The New York Giants just got a whole lot more popular in Heaven. Hope was the kind of person that made being a Giants fan and tailgating, going to camp and to games fun and worth it. Always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter how far out of her own way she had to go to do it.
RiffRaff, pretty sure Dave in MD is still among the living....
Britt in VA : 12/10/2009 2:07 pm : link
I think you meant Bob in Annapolis.
just awful news
Kyle in NY : 12/10/2009 2:08 pm : link
I had a chance to meet Hope briefly this past summer at camp and see her work her magic with Brandon Jacobs at the ceremony. From our brief encounter, you could really get the sense of the kind of person she was. She was very kind to me and my younger brothers. She will be missed.

RIP Hope
I met HopeJ at giants stadium.

Quote:
On behalf of the Mara and Tisch families and all of our players, coaches and staff, I want to extend our sympathy to Hope’s family and friends. Hope was a special person. She loved her Giants and she loved her BBI family. Hope had a heart of gold, as evidenced by her work with her church and the volunteer work she did in Africa . I can’t tell you how many times she contacted our organization on behalf of many of you to let us know how we might be able to lift a spirit or help celebrate a special occasion. We were always grateful to hear from Hope because she helped us stay in touch with all of you. We share in the sadness of the day, and we will all miss Hope J. dearly.
God bless you Hope

I was just with her a few weeks ago - this is truly shocking!

Hope - you surely are flying with the angels. I am overwhelmed by your death. You were a truly beautiful soul in life.

I'll tell you guys one thing
Giants in 07 : 12/10/2009 2:11 pm : link
Hope will do everything she can to help the Giants get all the breaks they could. Her spirit will live on through the memories everybody has and through her New York Giants.
I second everyone's comments
Bob from Massachusetts : 12/10/2009 2:11 pm : link
She was the centerpiece of the training camp experience and was very nice to me even though she didn't know me from a hole in the wall. We'll all miss her, and I think some kind of official BBI commemoration is appropriate. Gone too soon....

Thank you Hope for the kindness you showed to my son and I up in Albany. You hugged us like we were family and you personally made sure my son got autographs from a bunch of Giants. She was an angel and has been called home. Rest in peace.

Riffy -- Your news of the demise of Dave in MD is MUCH EXAGGERATED!
schnitzie : 12/10/2009 2:13 pm : link
Dave is very much alive and quite possibly my closest RL friend on BBI other than you, Madplaid and HOPE.

Those were the ashes of Bob in Annapolis that Hope and Berry spread at Superbowl 42...another of her epic accomplishments.
WHAT?

Some people give you faith in the potential of humanity to rise up and just be good. She was a beacon in dark and an incredible soul who will be missed. We are all lucky to have witnessed her grace.

Hope was the nicest person on this board. One of the few people I have exchanged with here. I am sick from this. God please take this lovely human being into your arms. God bless us all.
Wow, I'm stunned. RIP.
truebluelarry : 12/10/2009 2:15 pm : link
I spent all of last weekend in bed after having oral surgery, and had a stack of Giants DVD's on hand to help get me through the ordeal. In one of them, I saw Hope at the Saints game in '01 holding up her sign that read "you can knock down our buildings, but you can't knock down our spirit."

I'm saddened by her loss, but take comfort knowing she is in a better place.

still here
Dave in MD : 12/10/2009 2:15 pm : link
and wish Hope was too. I used to love close to her and would run in to her at the store with my daughter. She always went out her way to compliment Tabitha. Just a real warm person. I am shocked. I almost can't believe this is true.
Holy shit...
arcarsenal : 12/10/2009 2:15 pm : link
This is absolutely shocking.

Never met Hope, but she seemed like an incredible person. Way too soon for a person like that to be taken away from their life.

RIP, Hope..
BBI will never be the same

and neither will my trips to Albany.

Hope, without question, was the nicest person you'd ever want to meet.

I will miss her very much.
