RIP Hope J

SecondCVA : 12/10/2009 1:45 pm
Hope was found dead today in her apartment. Cause of death is unknown.

Pray for her as she would have and has prayed for all of you.

Those are all the details I have.

For those of you that knew her personally, Kevin requests that you please do not call her mother.

I can be reached at rockythmpsn@yahoo.com or my regular email for those that have it.

As the details become available I will have someone post them here.

Just a great woman, very sad day on BBI...

the few times that i had the privilege of meeting her she was nothing but gracious and happy to talk giants. A very sweet lady.
RIP Hope J...

you are in a better place. I did not have the fortune to meet her in person but her interactions on BBI and her actions in life in general showed the wonderful person that she was. I was absolutely shocked to see that thread title and I am completely sadden by this loss.
Only knew her through BBI..
KingBlue : 12/10/2009 2:16 pm : link
she will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones.
I can't believe what I just read.

This is so sad and unexpected. What a tremedous loss. I conversed with her many times on BBI but never had the pleasure of meeting her. God bless Hope, her family, and friend.
It's funny
Giants in 07 : 12/10/2009 2:17 pm : link
Some see BBI as a website to go to, to talk about the Giants and interact with other fans. To them, Hope was an inspirational word and a divine touch.

Some see BBI as a home away from home and even a big second family. Whether it's through tailgating or training camp, it's an opportunity to make friends and have relationships with special people. In this sense, Hope was the mother of the BBI family.

Either way you have it, you don't get much better then Hope. The gold standard for a person and for a fan.
I am in shock
MadPlaid : 12/10/2009 2:17 pm : link
I can't believe this is true. BBI and the world is diminished by HopeJ's passing. I've met HopeJ at camp and at a game day. She was quick with a smile and a hug. One of the best people I have ever met, on BBI or elsewhere. I am deeply saddened.

Rest in Peace.
Rest in Peace
Nitro : 12/10/2009 2:17 pm : link
I almost never post on prayer threads, or other condolence threads, given I feel I can't offer anything but a superficial well wish, which doesn't sit well with me.

In any event, Hope seemed to me (and by all other accounts) a warm generous person, who truly helped those she could, and impacted many lives here at BBI positively.

I don't have much to offer to this thread other than my sincerest sympathies to both her close friends and family.
Oh no!

posts, her optimism, and sunny disposition. She was a constant on this site. I never met Hope.. but got a great sense of her compassion and joy for living. Helped others and was a true Giant fan. She's in heaven now, probably closer to where she belonged.
I met her and Kevin for the first time two weeks ago
Figgy2989 : 12/10/2009 2:19 pm : link
before the Falcons game. I said who I was on BBI and we started talking as if we had known each other for years. One of the nicest people I have ever met. She will truly be missed.

RIP Hope, My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm in shock. I would swing by before the games for a quick hello as I was going to my seats and she would always have the same great smile and was ready with a big hug. RIP to a great lady.

Hope sent me many emails while I was in Iraq with the military. She was always very uplifting and genuinly concerned about me even though we had never met. I had the pleasure of meeting her at training camp upon my return, and knew that I had met someone very special. I will miss her.
Just want to say that I'm very sorry to hear this news
Kevin_in_Pgh : 12/10/2009 2:19 pm : link
Hope had a strong presence here and was really nice to me when I came to the tailgate at Giant's Stadium for the Dallas game a few years ago.

RIP
wow - what terrible news.
Del Shofner : 12/10/2009 2:19 pm : link
I met her a couple of times at the Stadium and at camp. All I can say is what others have - she seemed like family just from BBI, and if she doesn't have a straight shot to the Pearly Gates, I can't imagine who would.
Terrible news
BUgiantfan : 12/10/2009 2:19 pm : link
I haven't made it to Giants stadium in a long time but I always wanted to meet up for a BBI tailgate and hers was one of the faces I was looking forward to finally meeting.

What a sad story. She was much too young.

RIP Hope. You ARE in a better place. We will miss you, but know that for all of us that you touched, you will be remembered and will always bring a smile to our faces!

My last memory of Hope was at the Sunday night game vs the Cardinals
Jay in Saratoga : 12/10/2009 2:21 pm : link
They were honoring the Giant greats of the 80s before the game and we were talking at the tailgate about LT being there. Hope had mentioned that the one Giant that she has always wanted to meet, but hadn't had the opportunity to meet was LT.

Not knowing when they were doing the ceremony, my wife and I wanted to get to our seats early so that we wouldn't miss it, we ended up walking in from the tailgate with Hope and a friend of hers. After we got through the security gate, Hope was giving us tips about where to go to get to our section and not paying attention to where we were walking we nearly crashed into another group of people. That group was LT and several members of stadium security escorting him to where he needed to be for the ceremony.

I shouted out to him "LT you've always been my favorite Giant" (I was wearing his jersey that night) hope jokingly (maybe seriously) screamed "Oh my God, I love you LT" which gave caused him to smirk from ear to ear. After LT walked off Hope said to Jodi and I that she could finally die happy now that she had met him.

So I find myself thinking about that today, that Hope was happy. Not just for having the chance to almost bump into LT, but for knowing that she had such a prominent positive impact on the lives of so many people around her. My wife got along very well with Hope at the tailgate that day, she absolutely adored Hope by the time we had to leave, she told me that Hope was here new BFF and she couldn't wait to see her again the next time we went to a game. She is going to be crushed when I tell her tonight.
RIP, God bless

thing to hear or to have happened. I am used to death in a way but its getting unreal. she was a good lady, a good giant fan, and young. i suspect she had some metabolic problems but I am not going clinical here. i am upset. may she rest in peace and my thoughts are with her family.

I think the BBI family needs to do something to memorialize her, like calling the rnargi/BBI MVP award the "Hope J award" or something.

sorry i am leaving.

David in LA : 12/10/2009 2:21 pm : link
we are praying for you and your family just as you did for many of us. it's the least we can do. this site will never ever forget your presence, it would not be what it is now without that special something that you brought to the table. i just hope that we can take a page out of your book and be a fraction of the class act you are.

Had the pleasure of meeting her at the Super Bowl last year after we had won...an extremely nice and caring human being, and a great Giants fan. This is really, really awful to hear, and may she Rest in Peace. BBI, and the numerous people she has helped, known, and met in her life, will miss her dearly.

I don't understand why she was taken so soon, so I have to go with the positives.

At least she got to see Yummy score a touchdown last weekend!

Feel free to add your wonderful memories.

Terrible news. I never met her personally but she always seemed to be a lovely, genuine, quality human being. She will be missed.

I trust someone has taken the time to notify the Giants organization as well.

Godspeed, HopeJ!

I will light a candle for you and include you in my prayers, I miss you already.

May you Rest in Eternal Peace, the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you.

Hope was the conscious of BBI. She was unusually calm, and had an air of compassion about her. The good ones always seem to leave us early. RIP.

i never met Hope but always enjoyed the warm exchanges with her on here,
mostly about music
maybe we could all try and be a little nicer to each other in the future as a tribute to her.
That picture was taken right after the Carolina playoff loss

she was in heaven because she felt like a Hope sandwich between two pieces of Barber bread. She loved it and sent me a copy. I never knew why I kept a copy. I guess now I know why.

I whill miss you immensely my friend. Thank you for the great memories

Hope and I talked about her bucket list after she told me about her LT encounter, I joked with her that the only thing keeping her alive was that she wanted to go to a wedding that got called off at the altar and that she needed to come up with a new list.

SHOCK and DISBELIEF!!!!!!!!
