RIP Hope J

SecondCVA : 12/10/2009 1:45 pm
Hope was found dead today in her apartment. Cause of death is unknown.

Pray for her as she would have and has prayed for all of you.

Those are all the details I have.

For those of you that knew her personally, Kevin requests that you please do not call her mother.

I can be reached at rockythmpsn@yahoo.com or my regular email for those that have it.

As the details become available I will have someone post them here.

Just a great woman, very sad day on BBI...

what a horrible shock

saw the thread title and thought it had to be a bad joke. She was on the Tiki thread just the other day.

Awful, awful news.
Only knew her through BBI

never had the pleasure of meeting her. What a terrible loss for this Giants community, her family, and friends.

Her presence here will be missed deeply. RIP Hope.

You will always have a spot reserved at my tailgate. I'll miss you very much. So sad. I am in utter shock.
That terrible news!!
River Mike : 12/10/2009 2:28 pm : link
I haven't been on BBI today and my son just called to tell me the news. I only met Hope a couple of times, and of course knew her best from this board ... what a wonderful person. She offered me sympathy and support when I was going through a rough time as she has with many others here. To say she will be missed is a huge understatement. Very shocking.
This is horrible new

A couple of weeks ago I was e-mailing her about getting together for a BBI get together.

RIP Hope.

RIP Hope. By all accounts, and I mean all, you were a kind & caring person and lived a wonderful life. I'm sure you're in a better place as you so deserve.
The only consolation is that she loved God so much
buford : 12/10/2009 2:30 pm : link
she must be happy to be with him now. And she lived life to the fullest when she was here. I am sitting here in tears trying to explain to co-workers that someone I never even met in real life has passed. She had that effect on people. I think she is the best person I've ever met. And yes I can see her enjoying being in the Barber sandwich.
Terrible news.

By all accounts, a great human. Never had the pleasure to meet her myself. RIP Hope.

Mike from Ohio : 12/10/2009 2:31 pm : link
I never met, Hope, but I have read enough of her posts here on BBI over the past several years to know that she was a very special, loving person, who brought something special to this board. I can only imagine the good she did for those that were fortunate enough to know her.

I will say a prayer for Hope, her friends and her family. If anything good can come from such a tragedy, it is that maybe a little bit of her love, tolerance and good humor will find its way into each of our hearts.

Godsspeed HopeJ. You will be missed.

Go Giants!
Funny Memories
Davisian : 12/10/2009 2:31 pm : link
Camp two years ago, got up early to go golfing. It was raining, and I was severely hungover, but Hope and Bob in Annapolis wanted to spread some ashes on the golf course. She had the "bag of Bob," and she rode over with me, just shaking her head and laughing at my sorry state.

A couple wrong turns here and there, (that's what you get for following margi and ED ;-)) and we made it, but it was pouring pretty good.

margi wussed out on the golf, but Hope and Bob's widow (please forgive me for forgetting her name) did not wuss out on finding a good spot to let Bob play through.

She told me to forget the golf and go take a nap and it was the best advice I heard all weekend.

Many talk the spiritual talk, but Hope walked the spiritual walk. We were all better for knowing her in whatever capacity we did.

Cannot believe this has happened......
EDinFWB : 12/10/2009 2:31 pm : link
She is way to young and the most caring and gentile lady I have ever known. Am lost for words.....Camp will never be the same, a void will always be there. She was the most dedicated Giant fan I have ever known.

Cyn, please keep us informed......lets hope the team can win one this w/e for her. God bless her memory.
wow
Les in TO : 12/10/2009 2:32 pm : link
I'm stunned, Hope was one of my favourite BBI contributors and she seemed like a genuinely great person from the people who have met her in person and her "persona" on this website. RIP.
I can't believe I turned that ticket down out of pride.
nittmo : 12/10/2009 2:32 pm : link
Hope, what I would give for one more chance to hang out with you at a Giants game. I hope you can read this somewhere.

And thanks again for alerting me to the fact that my shirt was on inside out on the way back from New Orleans. And thanks for having the sense of humor to make me travel 1,000 miles that way before telling me in D.C.!!

Wish I had taken you up on that cup of coffee.

I promise you, Jack will always treasure Jay Alford's gloves, moreso now.

Optimus--I told her that once. In typical Hope fashion, she waved the compliment off modestly.
Sitting here staring.

Steve L : 12/10/2009 2:32 pm : link
back in 2000 Hope, not me, started a prayer thread that over 200 people posted on. I still have the print out of it. I never met her but we spoke over email and here often. Just did two weeks ago when I mentioned here that I had a sex talk with my boys.

I will truly miss Hope and plan to raise a glass in her honor tonight.

RIP.

Now let's win Sunday for Hope!
A shame
BigRoss71 : 12/10/2009 2:34 pm : link
that i never got to meet her in person. I was looking forward to it at training camp next year. Even Hope's presence on the forum was felt by me. A sad day for BBI, a community just lost a very valuable member. Enjoy your lives people, you never know when it could be over. I will be extra loud this sunday night in honor of Hope, doing as she would do, cheering for the Giants.

aint that the truth - I always thought I was the biggest Giant fan I knew until I met and spent time with Hope - and she had the biggest and sweetest heart - she loved the players - just loved them as if they all belonged to her
buford, your 2:30 nails it

You didn't have to meet her for her to have an effect on you. A wonderful woman who devoted herself to God, charity and the New York Giants.

RIP Hope, we'll miss you.
I have not been on in a couple of days and I am very sad to hear this
Paul from Queens : 12/10/2009 2:35 pm : link
I never met Hope but I witnessed her actions on this board and the love and respect given to her by other members. She is truly a loss for this community and may she rest in peace.
Wow I am shocked beyond belief. RIP Hope

never met her, but she seemed like a really nice person, and she was always very nice to me. RIP Hope, a great loss for BBi, the Giants and the world. P.S I will take up the Anti Phillip sparks mantle in your honor.

A terrible shame.

Oh No!

If there was one consistent non aggressive, kind and thoughtful poster than Hope J, I've yet to come accross that person in 10 years. This is tragic and sad R.I.P
I'm in absolute shock
GMenLTS : 12/10/2009 2:36 pm : link
I met hope for the first time at the get together in DC following the SB. And since then I've gotten to see her at camp the past two years.

It's not even close, she was easily one of the nicest people I've ever come in contact with. And I'm sure most others feel the same.

I just have no words, the best always seem to be taken away so fast.

RIP Hope, BBI won't be the same without you.
RIP

I met you once and you were as sweet and helpful as could be. Your presence on BBI was always ... always ... one of compassion and friendship.

You will be sorely missed by your BBI family.

Rest in Pease, Hope.

Exactly. I think many of us felt we were the biggest Giants fans on the planet until we met her. And as you said, she really cared about the players as human beings. That should surprise us when we think about it because she seemed to care about everyone.

I can't tell you how much grief she used to give me for forgetting to bring pictures of my kids to camp for her to see. She was genuinely interested.
RIP

I never met her face to face but she would randomly email me asking for pics of my boys to stay up to date on them. That was just what Hope did.

What a lovely woman
I do not know what to say
Bill2 : 12/10/2009 2:39 pm : link
She was a terrific person. I know many of you know of her many charitiable and thoughtful acts to many BBI members and their familes.

I knew some of her work for her Church, for non for profit public health groups and in Africa.

She was just a rare person. She was rare because she was so consistently thoughful and caring in real life and she delivered so often for so many without making a deal of it.

She walked the walk. In that sense she was a Giant
RIP Hope

I never met Hope,
j_rud : 12/10/2009 2:41 pm : link
but I did often find myself on the opposite ends of arguments with her. It was always civil, and any snarkiness was always on my end, unfortunately. So while I never met her thats what I will remember: someone who was able to remain calm, polite, and nice when arguing with me, which I know is NOT easy. The outpouring of emotion here is a testament to how many people your life touched. RIP Hope.
I was fortunate to meet her once

She had a way of invoking God's help when requested that just made you feel good for having read it. Like she truly had a link to a higher power. She was the closest thing to an Angel on Earth.
