I didn't care much for this years SB. I was watching the kids and missed most of the 1st qtr, halftime and a few minutes of the 3rd. That being said, what other single event draws more than 100 million viewers at the same time? I mean did that many vote or watch the elections? No. The Emmy's, Grammy's or Oscars? Close but no. Lets face it, parties are meant for Saturday. You can drink and enjoy all of the festivities with a day to rest. A co-worker of my wife banged in sick. Really?? I doubt it. He was up watching the game and called out. If it was Saturday he could recover. I know the NFL is about tradition but some playoff games are on Saturday night. And if it has to be Sunday, why not the Sunday of President's Day Weekend. Then most people would be off on Monday anyway. All I am saying is that for east coast fans, staying up past 10 on a work night to see the post-game celebration, interviews etc.. make it difficult when you have work the next day. It is time the NFL make this minor scheduling shift to maximize this event. This would allow them to start the game at 8pm if they so desired which is primetime tv all of the way.
