zasw1 : 4/28/2010 2:02 pm
My friend has 2 psl's in sec 317 row 19. they are the endzone sideline. He is asking $1950 per seat($3900 + $200 transfer fee). i want the tix but dont want to spend the money if these are terrible views. they seem like they are high up. any input would be helpfull.
transfer fee?
MetsAreBack : 4/28/2010 2:03 pm : link
what is that?
to transfer tix
zasw1 : 4/28/2010 2:08 pm : link
the giants charge a $200 fee at the time of transfer.
transfer
DTgiants : 4/28/2010 2:14 pm : link
I thought you couldn't do until March 2011
that is correct
zasw1 : 4/28/2010 2:16 pm : link
but when you do transfer in march of 2011 it costs $200
So he is doubling the cost of the PSL
Bernie : 4/28/2010 2:23 pm : link
Pretty sure that is a $1,000 PSL. Nice friend.
Worth it.

I bought 4 PSL's in the secondary markets and paid 2,750 for each in the 300's. I looked at this way I am paying the second lowest price in regards to PSL and my ticket cost will only be 95 per game. I could have gotten PSL directly from the Giants in the mezz endzone side but I would end up paying 5,000 each for the psl and 120 per game per ticket. So I say do it. On a side note i hope this guy is not a close friend, if he is get new friends.
Definitely worth it
Figgy2989 : 4/28/2010 2:37 pm : link
But you best draw up some documents stating that the PSL will be transfered into your name at the point of sale.
They are high up

There is no question the Upper Deck is higher than the Upper Deck in the old stadium.

This mark-up is pretty standard, your only choice would be to wait until March 2011 and see if you can get a cheaper upper deck psl on the open market.

As of not too long ago, the Giants were still offering lower end zone psl's for 5K each, if you can afford the extra 6K, that would be a better seat.

If the stadium lasts 30 years (low estimate):

4100 / 10 games
410

410 / 30 years = $13.67 extra per game or $6.83 per ticket.

If you are a huge fan I doubt $6.83 extra is too much to ask for this opportunity. I think that is what they charged me for a slice of pizza at the lacrosse event hosted there.

Get the tickets - skip the snackbar
317 sideline endzone has nice views!

I'm not an advocate of the psl sales in the secondary market before 3/1/2011 , I initially went that route and had a bad experience it wound up peaceful in the end and I got out unscathed but what a pain in the ass. $1950 per Psl is probably he cheapest I have seen out there, if it's $1950 per psl and season tix then your paying face value and thats great. I would be sure you draw up a solid contract leaving a way for yourself to get out if the deal goes south for whatever reason. The PSL sales prior to 2011 will not be recognized by the NY GIANTS and if it becomes a bum deal you could lose your cash. This is why I ultimately wound up spending the dough with the GIANTS and bought directly I also got great lower levels and could not be happier. I'm sure you think you might be saving a buck in the long run with this deal but unless you have a great relationship with this friend cross your fingers. It may be worth it to deal with the GIANTS directly( PSL's are 50% down now with the other 50% due one year from PSL purchase )or wait till 2011 when you may be able to pick what seat and price are right for you. Good Luck and BUYER BEWARE!
Not woth it....

...none of the PSLs are worth it.
Until the giants announce the transfer process

I'd wait before buying PSLs. There are just so many unkowns right now that any agreement is risky.

For example (this is completely made up and not based on anything I have heard, merely an example of a potential complication), the Giants could require that the money be exchanged via a Giants online "transfer site". If so, they could also require that PSLs can't be sold below "face" value. So if you already paid for the PSLs, then in order to transfer you may be required to transfer money again to the owner. Which, then the owner could refund to you(since you already paid), or not. Any contract written up now won't be able to include these specifics b/c no one knows the transfer details yet.

Once again, the above example is not based on anything I have heard nor seen, merely something that popped into my head as a potential complication.

Many people have already drawn up contracts for PSLs, but I'd be wary w/o knowing the details.
The value will vary from one person to another...

It all comes down to what is important to you. As far as PSLs are concerned, $4k for two seats is cheap in the the sports world. Do you like the Giants enough to pay? up to you.

As far as the "friend" comment that someone else made.... the PSLs are a business transaction. Why should the friend sell it for face if he can get more? I paid a lot of money for my PSLs and if the day comes when I want to sell them, you can bet they are going to the highest bidder regardless as to whether a friend wants to pay my original cost. Meanwhile, I will take that friend to games and he/she will either go for free or pay face value.

zasw1, buy the PSLs....you can always sell them again one day if you do not like the seats. You can always potentially move to another location too. Just get your foot in the door. Most if not all of the upper level seats were sold out before the lower due to the lower prices.
I went on the tour over the weekend.....

and checked out the view from my friend's seat, which is 2 rows from the top on about the goal line. After hearing a couple of posters say how high it is, I was pleasantly surprised with the good sight lines. It's high up, but not a significantly different view from the old stadium. I was pretty impressed with the view, and I've always sat in the lower tier.
BTW, the 4 video boards....

are terrific. If I had one criticism, it's that they put too many sinks in the men's rooms on the upper deck. They have around 20 sinks in the bathroom, taking up two full walls. They could have cut that in half and used the space for more pissers.
The sinks
Jim in Fairfax : 4/28/2010 9:21 pm : link
are backup pissers.
tyler...
BigBlueBrethren : 4/28/2010 9:24 pm : link
Why would your friend sell it to you for less if he can get more?

Uh, because he's your friend.
If that's your friend

I'd hate to see your enemies. It is my understanding there is no official transfer of PSL ownership until 2011.

Not to mention, if you contact the Giants directly, you might be able to invest in your own PSL's.
