Josh McDaniels admits to cheating with Patriots.....

but claims videotaping the 49ers was different because it was a one-off occurrence.

Okay, this thing is just absolutely bizarre, and convinces me more than ever that McDaniels is an absolute moron, and Belichick is a dirty, cheating, dog.

According to Jay Glazer who first broke the story on Fox's pregame show, McDaniels apparently held a meeting with his coaching staff on Friday, admitting to them the Pats did in fact cheat (something which every coach under Belichick has vociferously denied up until this point) but hid behind the fact that while it was systemic inside the Patriots organization, and used extensively in practice and coaching strategy, in Denver it was a one time thing, done by a shady character working on his own orders, riiiiight.

He they went on to warn if any information was leaked from his coaches meeting, heads would roll.

Which I guess really says a lot about how much respect McDaniels and his coaching staff have for one another, since you know, it leaked.
Why would McDaniels have to hold a meeting

to explain to his own staff that they don't tape football practices. Wouldn't they already know that either way?
Who knows

could be a variety of reasons, maybe the information he was cheating was a privilege held only by the inner sanctum of his most loyal coaches, maybe he was directed to by the owner, maybe it was a media stunt, maybe he was actually telling the truth?

Yeah, that one I admit is a little far-fetched.
Why wouldn't he admit

to looking at the tapes when with the Pats? They were caught and punished by the League for it. (Although tapes of in-game opposing coaches is, IMO, a lesser offense than taping an opponent's practice.)
