For those asking for a young & proven OC, he fits the bill on both accounts. He's creative and a great play caller. Unfortunately, looks like Spags is gonna grab him in STL.
His offense was good but the team sucked (talent wise) plus he was the HC. As just an OC, he's one of the best and will actually implement a system to utilize our talent (if coughlin allows).
gutsy and creative? That's it? So ignore the statistics KG has put up and the success he has had because McDaniels is more gutsy? My question for that is, would McDaniels' 'guts' made a difference in '08, the Plax year? How about 2009, the year of the defensive collapse? Would this years team been that much better with McDaniels at the helm and not KG? These are things that have to be thought through before we just sytart throwing names out there IMO.
qtr for no gain, then he throws on 2nd and long into a defense waiting for it
third down and we throw a pass one yard short of 1st down then punt.
screw that i'm sick of it
you can be the best OC ever, but if your line can't block or your WR's can't run proper routes, then you're going to have problems. What we need are players who can stay healthy and do their assignments.
Do I like everything KG does? No, but when he has the horses, he gets results. Josh has had great success when 1) he had superior personnel in NE, and 2) when he was facing the Little Sisters of the Poor Defenses in the AFC West. I doubt he would be any better in the NFC East than KG. Also, why would you want to revamp the offense when it's unlikely we'll do any better? Do you think it helps guys like Jason Campbell when they get a new OC every year? I don't.
and i never said anything about gilbride being the only reason we are not playing today.
all i said was gilbride , with the game on the line is very predictable and not creative
yet read all the rebuttals to comments i never made
cherry pick certain situations and try to make them the norm instead of the isolated events they are. For instance the shotgun draw never works, unless it does, and running Jacobs wide always results in a loss, unless he breaks a big run.
This offense is very simular(heck it might be exactly the same I don't pretend to have all the answers)as it was in '07, '08 and '09. When this offense is clicking it's close to unstoppable. I think the injuries and decision making by key players are more to blame than Gilbride, but hey, thats just my opinion.
is a decent offensive coach. I'm not sure he's an offensive genius though.
I mean he did have Randy Moss and Tom Brady back during that 2007 season. Although you have to give coaching some credit for maximizing what that offense did.
He was outcoached by Spags though in the Super Bowl.
I think he' a guy who is probably going to have to settle for being an OC from now on. His Broncos tenure ended pretty horribly and he made some awful moves.
I don't get why a troll like Josh in the City doesn't get banned. It isn't really a banning for stupidity, so much as banning of "cluttering up the board with high volumes of stupidity". Josh is so dumb that I doubt he would even realize he is banned, and just go back to playing with his Barbies and his Gilbride voodoo doll.
"predictable" as some people make it out to be, we would be dead last in the league, unless we had singularly spectacular players at each offensive position.
Here's an idea; if our offense is predictable, hire yourself out as a mercenary to any team that plays the Giants; you'd be making loads of money for not much work.
the whole "run on 1st, pass on 2nd" meme has been debunked numerous times by numerous posters on BBI...but carry on. I'm sure somehow, you'll find a way to continue to drive this ridiculous "argument" into the ground.
Kudos to Jerry Jones then for realizing the truth. No one ever gets angry at statistics themselves unless they have a belief or opinion that the statistics contradict.
LOL, thanks. Unfortunately, I haven't felt so adamantly against a Giants coach since the end of the Dan Reeves era. I truly can't stand Gilbride anymore. I know the stats say one thing but I just think with the talent we have, we should be a lot better than we are. Too many head scratchers, too much confusion, lack of a temp and simply poor in game adjustments for me. It's time for a change.
You're going to be so disappointed next season (if we do have one) when Gilbride is still our OC and making all the "predictable" plays without have any "guts" to call those aggressive calls. How are you going to deal with that? I suggest a lot of beers for each game.
i'm talking gilbride not mc daniels
third down and we throw a pass one yard short of 1st down then punt.

We just need to cut down on INTs and improve the Oline so we can pound the rock better when we have a lead in the 4th quarter.

Yeah some coach and some talent evaluator.

If KG calls a play designed to catch the other team off guard and it doesn't work, then people complain about the stupid plays he calls.
yet, if OCs can't do any wrong...why do they get fired?
I don't know the answer, but it certainly is puzzling that KG is such a polarizing figure on BBI.
That is not a reason to fire anybody, install a new program and start over.

He'll take a point and run it into the ground, even if it is a suck-ass point.
So, he's aggressive, but not so self-aware.
That's just fucking great for the rest of us.
These can't possibly be genuine posts!
