I think his legacy will be as a player who rose to the occasion in the biggest spots. He's never going to put up monster TD/INT ratios and such, but I think he'll finish his career in the group of immortals (Montana, Unitas, Brady) as a big game QB.
If two teams are pretty even and one of the teams spys on the other to learn formations and what their gameplan is going to be. How is that not a big deal?? There should be an * next to their wins!!!!!
I also don't think this will be Eli's last trip to the dance......
I think he has another one in him too. If this team can stay together and we solidify some ares on the team, I think they could potentially get here again, in Eli's time.
is about revenge, but it's really gonna be the game that puts Eli and Coughlin in the Hall of Fame. I truly believe that. I also think the Giants can win this game by two scores. I think our defense will get more stops than theirs.

He's on his way to the Hall of Fame.

However, he will cement himself as the best QB to ever play in NY (passing Tittle, Simms, and Namath).
He will forever be remembered as the guy who beat one of the greatest QBs and coaches twice in the Super Bowl.
He will be remembered for (likely) winning more Super Bowls than his brother, who I consider to be the best QB I have ever seen.
And perhaps best of all, when players are reduced to having one certain trait that makes them great-- Eli's will be that he elevated his game as the pressure mounted. No matter the time on the clock left, no matter how many times he gets hit, he is never fazed.
And he will have done all of that while playing in the biggest media market in the country while living in the shadow of his superstar brother his entire life. Not bad for a guy that many think is nothing but "aww shucks."
Of Eli Manning!! Unreal, I wish nothing but great things for him. He will forever be remembered as the greatest Giant QB in my childrens eyes. And to many young Giant fans. My children will forever remember the 07 run and now this run long after I'm gone. And Eli will be the Giants they remeber.
dome on turf if he rings up 42 and turns the lights out on Brady and the Pats and say SB MVP with the year he's had, HOF-yes and sits next to LT as greatest Giant ever.
isn't about Eli being the best QB ever. The question is what would Eli's legacy be, if he beats a Brady-led team, who is arguably the best QB to ever play the game, twice.
The reading comprehension for some here, is mind boggling.
is "The Only QB." As in, The Only QB to ever throw 2 TDs in the 4th Quarter of the Super Bowl; The Only QB to ever throw a TD to win the Super Bowl when a TD was needed; The Only QB to ever win two playoff games at Lambeau; The Only QB to ever throw 15 4th Quarter TDs in one season; The Only QB to win two NFC Championship Games for the Giants. What next?
In the 2004 Draft, the Giants picked fourth among the four teams that finished the 2003 season at 4-12. If Fassel and Lynn had managed a single win in their last eight games, New York would have tumbled toward the bottom of a group of about seven teams at 5-11. A trade for Eli might still have been possible from around #10, but it wouldn't have been easy.
if he wins this SB. Now, my Mount Rushmmore has more than 4 dudes but less than the NFL HoF. In any case, Brady is on it already, Eli will be on it along with his brother.
Mount Rushmore meaning that he will forever be thought about as one of the all-time greats. He may not have the stats of today's superstar QBs but he will have the SBs and that will be an absolute, rock solid, legacy changer for Eli.
will be a hall of famer with a win in the SB. His legacy at least to this stage of his career is a guy who comes up big when the season is on the line and when the game is on the line - he has ice in his veins. He's not always pretty, he has no speed/ability to threaten defenses with running the ball and he makes the odd dangerous throw into double coverage, but he's a winner, plain and simple. This year he impressed me with his leadership, command of the offense and ability to cut his losses on plays without taking stupid risks. He's maturing and hopefully continues this awesome level of play for years to come. We are blessed.
But we'll have to see how his career plays out before entering him into the conversation with Brady, his big brother, Montana, Elway and Marino.
...nevermind~

We got this guy for nothing.

...he's obviously better. Kinda like the Redskins beating the, umm...
With this reciever core and some fine tuning to the offensive line, Its not unreasonable to think that he cant have another title 2-3 years from now.
If that is accomplished and he stays healthy. He very well could have the numbers and criteria by then to be considered upper echelon all time great
He's on his way to the Hall of Fame.

I still think that the Redskins suck.
That would be nice, and a very fitting end to this particular season for Eli.
