erased this gif out of my head after Bradshaw scored that TD!!! They have that play to remember. We have Eli's escape & Tyree's catch and now Eli's perfect throw and Manningham keeping his feet in to remember. Our plays were in a little bit bigger of a game. I'll take ours :)
hurt for awhile. It's still not a positive memory but I could care less about it at this point. Philly makes their own t-shirts in December, the Giants have the NFL make theirs in February
the 49er playoff game in my mind, and XLVI erased that play, along with the fact that if we won that game, the Eagles very well may have won the Superbowl, because GB wouldn't have been in it to knock them out
painful watching it, but before SB XLVI it stuck out. Now it's just a bad memory that is only tough to watch, not something I think too much about. While it doesnt negate the pain, winning the SB the very next year pushes that memory back in my mind.
1. Nitro thank you soooo much for posting that gif...
2. Jackson can do that every year if it means we will win the SB the next year. I bet it hurt him more watching us hoist the Lombardi one year later, then the joy stupid eagles fans felt that day.
Similar to how the '03 season brought on Eli, the '10 debacle brought us Steve Weatherford.
While Weatherford isn't to the NYG what Eli is, the shitty game (that I watched from my beloved seats in the MEZZ), made us get a real punter who actually made a difference in us making (and winning) a super bowl this season.
As soon as I saw him break out, my back was to the TV and I was exiting the bar, I knew by the reaction what happened. I have not seen that play in it's entirety ever, until I opened this thread.
It does not sting anymore. One thought, when Jackson showboated before going in, I don't think he was aware somebody was behind him inside the end zone. Too bad he didn't slow up a bit and whoever that was could have tackled him short. That would have been sweet.
for whatever reason the three guys right in front of him all fall down. It looks like one was pushed into the two in front of him by an Eagle. It probably should have been a penalty for a block in the back since the an Eagle pushed the guy from behind into the players in front of him.
But in the end, something was wrong with the Giants team that year. Too many turnovers that year.
to do with the sucess the Giants had this year. It was without a doubt the crucible of "Finish". This whole season was keep it close and you can win in the end. I think they learned it from the Eagles up close and personal in that game. The Eagles were down and playing like crap and NO ONE thought they had a chance, but the game wasn't over and they fought back.
Flash forward to almost exactly one year later and the Giants lose to the Redskins, they were down and playing like crap and NO ONE thought they had a chance, but the season wasn't over yet...
And that's pretty much the last positive Eagles fan memory. They've played 18 games since then.
Justice served.
Fuck you, Philly
For our loyalty and patience the Giants have rewarded us with these
They can keep their T-Shirt and one play because I'll take the championships every time
Fuck that franchise.
That loss cost us a two seed. We would have played Seattle at home in the divisional round.
It should be our yearly mission to inflict as much misery as possible for 2010.
Ahh... much better.
XXXV still hurts, not nearly as much though. Would love to beat the Ravens in a meaningful game, doesn't even have to be the SB.
2 out of the last 5. We may never see this again. Fuck Desean Jackson, fuck Matt Dodge and fuck the Eagles. That game matters no more.

To the poster of the video: FU :)
I will always hate the Eagles. But that play was out of my mind when Victor Cruz embarrassed Nhamdi Ashamgha in week 3

What a bounce back to finish the way we did against the Cowboys and the Jets.

they are mutually exclusive. Super Bowl wins are enjoyable, even euphoric, but that play is painful and always will be.
Punky J and the Eagles make some good plays. Let's give them some credit on that one. It's a shame they fail to win anything when it matters most.

you know how the story ends.
