I was one of the biggest anti-Beckum guys but we seems to start to find a way to pull him into the game plan. I think he gets a shot for certain now when he comes back.
I think Barden has less of a shot than Beckum, including injury, I would never thought in a million years I would say that.
started to play a bigger role in the offense as the season went along. He was buried in the dog house for a while after the first Philly game when he botched the 4th and short reception, but the Giants were actively trying to get him more passes underneath, to take advantage of his quickness as teams were worrying about Cruz and Nicks. Tamme is a guy who can fill that role.
Tamme isn't an every down TE in this offense anyway. Gilbride stressed blocking more than receiving from the position and Tamme isn't known as a good blocker (also on the smaller size). As others have mentioned, he's probably more of a replacement for Beckum as our H-Back.
your missing the point, ever since you started posting in the last couple years your arrogance has gone to your head. You think your all knowing. I was implying that Beckum was and has been worthless. We continued to give this fragile guy a chance and he did nothing. Apparently you like to come to conclusion before actually knowing the reasoning behind a statement. For a guy who runs his own site you might be more respectful.
think more of former Coughlin favorite at BC and Jax (and a former Giant) in Pete Mitchell. A more undersized TE who can work the intermediate zone and will help convert the 3rd and short/mid range passes.
know how anyone could say (with a straight face) that Beckum was becoming a bigger part of our offense as the season went along. He had 5 receptions (not a misprint) and 93 yards in the regular season (that INCLUDES the 67 yarder)!
Ever since I've been posting the last couple of years?
I've been posting since the site was established 17 years ago. And I've been arrogant the entire time.
Regardless, your point seemed to suggest that this move was made because the Giants were done with Beckum. That's not true. If this move is made, it's because Beckum tore his ACL.
I'm no big fan of Beckum, but anyone who watched this team down the stretch saw that Beckum got a TON of playing time and was coming on as a blocker and pass receiver.
was starting to get more involved at least snaps wise towards the end of the season and in the playoffs. Whether it was finally him putting it together or the Giants gameplan to create mismatches isn't clear. My guess would be a little bit of both. They wouldn't just toss a useless player out in the biggest games of the year.

thats a bit small no?

So this report is either inaccurate or Francesca is saying he's hearing a rumor.
One would assume an in-line/traditional TE would be way more of a priority.
