Now is not the time to use the BPA philosophy. The ball is in the curt of the players, more than it is the teams now.
Let's focus on positions of need because that's what players will do before they talk to teams. Henry Hynoski and Mark Herzlich are examples of that from last year.
Giants don't just need players for for the roster. Â
put up big stats, and he won football games. that has to count for something. even if you bring him in just to give Manning and Carr a rest during training camp.
Strengths: Superior anticipation and football IQ, can sniff out where the ball is and rocket towards it. Strong, sure tackler. Puts shoulder to chest and tackles through the ballcarrier. Heads up in coverage, good zone instincts and ball skills. Has speed, takes good angles and closes fast with burst. Hard worker, smart, durable, top intangibles. Weaknesses: Narrow boned, high hipped build. Was a track star, and doesn't turn or change directions well. Projects to struggle with NFL man coverage assignments. Can have difficulty disengaging from blocks. Marginal hands, very few career picks for number of passes defensed. NFL Comparison: Gerald Sensabaugh, Dallas Cowboys --Brad Noel
Matt Broha – DE, Louisiana Tech
David Douglas – WR, Arizona
Janzen Jackson – FS, McNee State
Joe Martinek – FB, Rutgers
*D'Angelo McCray – OG, Memphis
Adwale Ojomo – DE, Miami
Julian Tailey – WR, U Mass
NOTE: The asterisk indicates pending (as per Tom Rock)
The healty bodies that we have include M. Bennet, C. Hopkins from the PS, The Robinson kid that was drafted today from Cincy, Bear Pascoe--even though he's more of an H-Back type, and Beckum (see Pascoe)--if he's healthy. Giants could maybe sign one more, but it's not a must.
The vet FA market may be on their radar still too, but we'll see. They can sit still here it looks now after thinking about this with respect to signing more Free Agent Rookie TEs.
P.S. The announcement of the pick was REALLY butchered by the old dude who does it every year.
Tauren Poole
Brandon Bolden
Another player I hope we have a jersey for is Jonathan Grimes, RB, William & Mary
He's got more work to do...
Constantly ignores responsibilities in the scheme to free lance.
Slower than 2/3 of the D-linemen at the Combine.
Often doesn't wrap up when attempting to tackle.
Averaged one personal foul for every two games played in college and blamed it all on the zebras.
Made very poor impressions during his Combine interviews.
His own coaches won't recommend him.
This guy is absolute dog shit. It's no wonder he wasn't drafted.

Still short possibly a MIKE, another QB perhaps (The Harvard QB that Phil suggested perhaps?), and maybe another RB, or TE.
Unless I missed them, a tad surprised the following players have not been signed by anyone:
Tauren Poole/RB/Tennessee
Brandon Bolden/RB/Mississippi
Philip Welch/K/Wisconsin

No more going steady.
BTW, still relevant insofar as being invited unsigned.
