Let's see how he looks after pre-season when teams are coming at him full speed and he's taking the pounding, even when he takes off..Then I'll gove him any deserved props....
Sheesh, it wasn't until the Parcells era until they even started having minicamps I believe..
who can forget when Spurrier had the Skins tearing it up during the pre-season? I make my "just stay healthy" during the pre-season statement every year, so here we go again.
As always, I wait and see when the real action starts and even THEN, it can take 3-4 games into the season before players/teams begin to gel
be good. All the early praise and nicknames may foster some arrogance/pompousness inside of him which could lead to a lack of work ethic. Lack of work ethic may lead to early struggles, clashes, depression, bath salt use, cannibalism and snowball affect from there
not too surprising that a massively talented kid would look great.
Let's wait until he get on the field against the rest of the NFC East and JPP, Tuck, Osi, Kiwi, Ware, Cole and Babin are chasing him around. Then we can talk about how good he looks
We'll see if he earns legendary status when games start for real Â
Actually states that there in no training camp intensity, pass rush, etc. Realized that after injuring his knee in his sophomore year that he had to become a pass first guy. Boom or bust? who knows? He'll have the same chance to prove himself as the guy drafted before him.
it sucks

but the reports coming out of DC are his has looked great.
When does the reporting out of DC say otherwise on anything? Mike Shanahan could take a crap on a piece of bread, call it a sandwich, and show it to reporters and they'd say it was the best sandwich ever made.
"I'm looking at the schedule right now, and I gotta tell you.... Â
I remember wayyyy back when CSN Midatlantic was Home Team Sports, there used to be a Redskins Magazine show with Doc Walker and Monte Coleman, and it was the most ridiculous homer show of all time.
there's no predictions - just comments from a bunch of RGIII's teammates being in awe of the kid's arm - and what he can do with it. Rex Grossman actually sounds jealous and intimidated by it.
Not for nothing - but the skins getting a good QB makes them very dangerous competitors
Of Jamarcus Russel's throwing ability during warmups of a game at Giants Stadium. Guy had a cannon, just effortlessly flinging it all over the place. It was hard not to glance across the field and notice Eli simply didn't have that natural ability, that throwing power.
The Redskins had a depth problem on the line last year, and the general consensus seems to be that they didn't do much to address it this offseason. They still have an issue at right tackle if Jammal Brown can't get over his hip problems.
Cam Newton had arguably the best rookie season ever for a quarterback, and his team was under .500. Even if you think he can emulate the stats that Cam Newton did last year (and even if you think RGIII is great, you can't bank on that), its not a given that the redskins are going to be great.
They should be solid and competitive, nothing more IMO. If he does pan out, this year isn't the year to be nervous, it's the future.
if the reports were he was stinking it up - you'd be laughing about how foolish the skins were - I never saw any respect coming out of fellow teammates for Russell. Never ever.
be a different article linked some where. This one doesn't predict success, failure,or record. Talks about arm strength and accuracy. Something we all knew about before he was drafted.
was that one man does not make a team. That's also why I posted the article about the Redskins offensive line, who you haven't heard a peep about this year, because they suck.
I like him. He seems like a smart kid and a helluva athlete.
BUT, that franchise has been terrible for over a decade. It starts up top. Bruce Allen is no great franchise builder either. Shanahan is an average coach. They dug a huge hole for themselves over the past decade with all of their sh-tty signings.
And what's really going to sting them, is that lost 18 million this year in dead money, 18 million next year, and they don't have a first round pick until 2015.
That's typical Redskins. Until that BS stops, I'm not impressed. They suck.
The Giants are the best, most talented team in the division. Â
a great athlete.
But, you just never know how things will turn out with a young QB.
For those of you too young to remember, check out the linked video of one of the best arms I've ever seen.
He put Terry Bradshaw on the bench for a while and by rights should have stayed the starter in Pittsburgh.
... he was kicked out and replaced by Snyder schill Larry Michaels (I think... but I've been gone from DC almost 7 years and I could be wrong on the guy's name or if he's still even there).
Let's just hope that, by the time RGIII gets through the growing pains, the owner will have the team shackled to a few more big stupid contracts again.
Word. Just remember though, the Giants aren't winning Super Bowls now just because they got Eli. It started there, but they had to make a whole lot more smart personnel decisions and manage the salary cap, none of which Skins ownership has shown a capacity to do...
I believe that our own success is due in part to the general quality of the division. By the time we make the playoffs we've usually already played huge games.
Greatness isn't acheived by ducking anybody.
going to have to rename him after he plays the Giants Â
Sheesh, it wasn't until the Parcells era until they even started having minicamps I believe..
He's already been awarded the starting job and now they're crowning him the next great QB. It's a lot of pressure to put on the young man.
Kinda like saying 'the reports out of Iran is that the uranium is for energy only'.
As always, I wait and see when the real action starts and even THEN, it can take 3-4 games into the season before players/teams begin to gel
If we had Giant players raving about David Wilson, we'd be pretty darn excited.
(crickets)
If the clown can't read a D then all of his skill means jack shit! If he can then it will be fun to watch us get after him.
Let's wait until he get on the field against the rest of the NFC East and JPP, Tuck, Osi, Kiwi, Ware, Cole and Babin are chasing him around. Then we can talk about how good he looks

Redskins final 2006 record: 5-11
Doc Walker, Larry Michael, Sonny Jergenson, Sam Huff, I forget the other clown in the booth with those last two loons.
Not for nothing - but the skins getting a good QB makes them very dangerous competitors
If this kid has half the tools and smarts being reported - the Skins are going to be for real.
Cam Newton is the real deal.
Vick has a jaw dropping Arm too: in this league its about reading defenses and delivering on time....well see!
Giants won 44-7.

I mean, they have to want someone dead in the FO over there right about now, right?
He should be worried about his offensive line when he plays us.
As others have noted, Cam Newton had an insane rookie year, and the Panthers were still 6-10.
Either way, I'll believe it when I see it. Money talks, and bullshit walks, and the Redskins have been doing a lot of walking for the past decade.
However, I expect RGIII to have a considerably better career than Awasom.

They have the best coach, the best QB, the best pass rusher(s), and the best depth across the board.
We are talented everywhere.

I remember him well. He could throw a football through a sheet of plywood.
Greatness isn't acheived by ducking anybody.
seriously losing to the Skins twice is the one minor blemish on last season
