I mean, if you are a veteran of the system and you are @camp working your way up to practicing it isn't all bad for the team. It gives younger guys reps and keeps the veteran fresh. Lets hope Canty, Nicks, Beatty and the others all heal in time to play at least some before game 1 on September 5th. We will need our OL fully intact to beat Dallas!
@CBSSportsNFLNYG: Reese wouldn't shut the door on the possibility of bringing Kareem McKenzie back either, repeating the phrase, "all our options are open.
Oh, I agree it isn't training for the rehabbing person but it is by default more training for the young guys like Austin. Just saying the hits aren't there on the veteran's body and they already know the system. Health is the key to making a good run in the NFL so lets hope our vets mend and our youngsters learn fast.
LB Jones is no lock to make this team unless specials get him over the hump. I mean, he did start some games last year so he has some experience.
injuries making the decisions, there are going to be some tough cuts. Jones could be one of them. He looked overmatched at LB, but that was to be expected given that he was a rookie and because of the lockout. But I thought he played well on ST, which was probably all we could have reasonably expected given those circumstances.
I am also really interested in the WR battle, not only for the number #3 position, but also to see if anyone can challenge Hixon and Barden.
does this make them carry 5 DT's during the season including canty or 4? that is going to be a big decision.
if they are able to only carry 4 DTs and 6 LB, they could use a spot to keep an extra OL like mccants/mosley or an extra WR like collins if they think they won't be able to sneak them onto the practice squad
Ebenezer Samuel @ebenezersamuel
Cruz beats Terrell Thomas on comeback route
Art Stapleton @art_stapleton
Keith Rivers working at OLB in place of Michael Boley with 1st team S on 7-on-7s #nyg
Ebenezer Samuel @ebenezersamuel
Jernigan just beat Corey Webster on a deep catch down sideline. Second straight day he is looking good
Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo
Anybody looking for Cruz letdown should probably keep looking. He looks as explosive as he was last year plus more polished. #nyg
Ohm Youngmisuk @NotoriousOHM
Eli Manning just missed Cruz on a bomb past Coe. Cruz tried to haul it in with left hand. Jernigan makes another catch from Carr in 7 on 7
Art Stapleton @art_stapleton
Boley might just be getting retaped. He was sitting on turf and now back up on his feet watching with other LBs. We'll see #nyg
may be one of the reasons he had such a good year. the one catch against green bay for a first down, if he didnt have that ability it would have been a stalled drive.
From practice rain completely ruined autograph day and not to mention people are savages and fighting for spots and another idiot wanted a pizza box signed by Blackburn.
WRs his size very rarely find success outside and there's not really much of an argument for playing him over Cruz at the slot, given how Cruz's success was divided out last season.
I understand where you are coming from in regards to slot WR's but plenty of small WR's have no problem playing the outside. Not only that but he is pretty thick weighing in at 190 pounds.
Not only that, I think we will see Cruz all over the field, not just in the slot.
If Jernigan impresses, they will give him a roster spot and put him on the field.
and so they ended up with two guys who project best in the slot in 3-WR packages, one of whom isn't giving up reps. If they think he's worth it you'll see him get slot reps with Cruz outside, you'll see 4-WR packages with him across from Cruz, they'll find a way to get him on the field.
1. Jernigan was very impressive today in individual drills and in team. He was beating every corner that lined up across from him including Webster on a deep ball. He has definitely progressed in his route running from last season. He has really impressed me these first two days the most out of every young WR.
2. Dan DePalma is has made some plays also both in individual drills and in team. He has good hands and real deceptive speed/quickness. keeping an eye on him
3. Victor Cruz looks like he has started camp right were he left off last season. He has made some awesome catches so far and is working hard against Webster and TT.
1. Bruce Johnson plays great when he is asked to press the wr. Hes a relatively small guy but he plays big. Couple times in team he jammed the receivers so hard that he knocked them totally off their routes where the wr couldn't even recover. Johnson and Jernigan battled in camp all day today. This is a matchup I'm looking forward to watching.
2. Justin Tryon is what you want in a slot corner. He has quick feet and flips his hips with ease. He made some nice plays today tracking the ball and reading the recievers routes. Hope he stays healthy and continues to improve.
3. Terrell Thomas looked like he was back in form today and looked comfortable out there. Glad he's back on the field. But you can tell the younger guys are battling way harder than the vets at this point.
Jernigan came in at 5' 8 7/8", shorter than every other guy listed there except for Smith (who is an all time talent/WR, in some ways) and Welker (who does more of his damage out of the slot than not). His vertical was less than all of theirs
Could Deon Grant return? Reese says possibly: "We have some young safeties we want to take a look at but Deon is still out there

Patricia_Traina: JPP looks like he's ok. He's over on the side jogging.
Of course, Cruz can improve. He's already close to being the best slot receiver in the NFL; any improvement will be a bonus.
ebenezersamuel: @MrAppleGate88 huge. And athletic. Haven't seen him make a play yet though
I think he can be a real weapon, especially in this offense.
DeSean Jackson-5'10" 175 pounds
Antonio Brown-5'10" 186 pounds
Emmanuel Sanders-5'11" 186 pounds
Wes Welker-5'9" 185 pounds
Santana Moss-5'10" 189 pounds
All those guys (besides Welker) play the outside.
