Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible

Waiting on morning availability here at UAlbany & we've been told GM Jerry Reese will give his initial camp address at 11:45 #NYG
Domenik Hixon is running with the first team early in Giants camp.
If it wasn't clear already, the Giants are going to make No. 63 pick Rueben Randle beat out Hixon for No. 3 receiver duties. Randle should begin his depth chart climb once the Giants begin preseason games. Hixon could ultimately find himself behind both Randle and Jerrel Jernigan, and is a poor late-round flier in fantasy leagues.

Reese expects a ton more from Prince than last year's performance: "He should challenge for a starting job and play like a first-round draft pick. When you pick a guy that high in the first round, you expect him to play and play well and be a strong contributor to your team."
I mean, if you are a veteran of the system and you are @camp working your way up to practicing it isn't all bad for the team. It gives younger guys reps and keeps the veteran fresh. Lets hope Canty, Nicks, Beatty and the others all heal in time to play at least some before game 1 on September 5th. We will need our OL fully intact to beat Dallas!
@CBSSportsNFLNYG: Reese wouldn't shut the door on the possibility of bringing Kareem McKenzie back either, repeating the phrase, "all our options are open.
Oh, I agree it isn't training for the rehabbing person but it is by default more training for the young guys like Austin. Just saying the hits aren't there on the veteran's body and they already know the system. Health is the key to making a good run in the NFL so lets hope our vets mend and our youngsters learn fast.
LB Jones is no lock to make this team unless specials get him over the hump. I mean, he did start some games last year so he has some experience.
injuries making the decisions, there are going to be some tough cuts. Jones could be one of them. He looked overmatched at LB, but that was to be expected given that he was a rookie and because of the lockout. But I thought he played well on ST, which was probably all we could have reasonably expected given those circumstances.
I am also really interested in the WR battle, not only for the number #3 position, but also to see if anyone can challenge Hixon and Barden.
does this make them carry 5 DT's during the season including canty or 4? that is going to be a big decision.
if they are able to only carry 4 DTs and 6 LB, they could use a spot to keep an extra OL like mccants/mosley or an extra WR like collins if they think they won't be able to sneak them onto the practice squad

Ebenezer Samuel @ebenezersamuel
Jernigan just beat Corey Webster on a deep catch down sideline. Second straight day he is looking good
Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo
Anybody looking for Cruz letdown should probably keep looking. He looks as explosive as he was last year plus more polished. #nyg
Ohm Youngmisuk @NotoriousOHM
Eli Manning just missed Cruz on a bomb past Coe. Cruz tried to haul it in with left hand. Jernigan makes another catch from Carr in 7 on 7
Art Stapleton @art_stapleton
Boley might just be getting retaped. He was sitting on turf and now back up on his feet watching with other LBs. We'll see #nyg

Terrell Thomas said he will try to practice today and see how his back reacts. Says back tightened up but feel better today
Mike Garafolo@MikeGarafolo
As for whether he'll be participating in that practice, he's not sure yet. His back is still tight but not a serious issue. #nyg
Jerry Reese said he has "nervous energy" right now because it's too quiet around his team. #nyg
Reese on Prince: "I expect him to play like a first round pick."
Chris Canty says he definitely doesn't want to miss season opener vs Dallas. But he also has no timetable for coming off PUP

Not looking good for Greg Jones. Reese mentioned two "young linebackers," Jacquian Williams and Mark Herzlich. Not Jones...
Brilliant. Rain coming down. Giants will practice on lacrosse field at Albany today.
Mike Garafolo@MikeGarafolo
Giants plan to practice outside at 1:30p as scheduled. Moving the session to the turf field (lacrosse field) here at UAlbany. #nyg
Could Deon Grant return? Reese says possibly: "We have some young safeties we want to take a look at but Deon is still out there

Patricia_Traina: JPP looks like he's ok. He's over on the side jogging.
Of course, Cruz can improve. He's already close to being the best slot receiver in the NFL; any improvement will be a bonus.
ebenezersamuel: @MrAppleGate88 huge. And athletic. Haven't seen him make a play yet though
