He recently deleted his twitter but is still posting away pics on instagram. Wondering what BBI thought about him and his party pics. You could look at it many ways....
1. He's 24 and its the offseason. Let him have his fun.
2. Grow up
3. Do what ya gotta do just dont post it for the world to see?
I think if he didnt have a down year it wouldnt be a concern at all but his "down" year and the constant party pics are a little concerning to me. Just wondering what others thought about this.
Yes, this is a concern...I understand being young and so forth but perhaps the guy needs someone to have a little chat with him going forward.
Again, this is why I don't think you pay young guys too soon...let's wait and see.
This is not directed at anybody on this thread, But It amazes me the way, in general, people look down on Athlete's for partying yet glorify it when they discuss a similar type of partying in their personal lives.
You're worried about a guy's social media accounts????
Just seeing what people thought. No need to be a prick. You enjoy or dont care about seeing the star defensive end posting pics of his stacks of money in a strip club and him and his boys passed out on a 6 a.m. ride home from the club others might have some concerns. Just opened it for discussion.
It's a concern in that you hope he keeps his head on straight, but there's someone who works for the Giants who's job it is to carry that concern, not fans.
Unfortunately, this isn't mitigated by the deletion of his Twitter, as there has not been shown to be any correlation between Twitter use and performance.
I could give a damn about the instagram my question or concern is more of his partying ways.
I don't wanna be a dick, I just think you need to separate the guy's personal life from his job and play on the field. If it was really getting in the way of his performance, I think we'd be hearing about it (and also, really seeing it).
His performance wasn't poor. But his numbers were down as teams changed their strategy and approach to him. And he was asked to bulk up a bit to play inside more. I'd look at stuff like this before pointing to his Instagram as why he had a down year in terms of statistics.
Athletes posting pictures of themselves having fun doing legal activities in the off season should not worry/concern/interest any reasonable fan.
This quote is hilarious coming from the guy who told everyone here about his golf buddy.
If you follow them socially, you care. If you start a thread because you're uncomfortable with what you see, you perhaps care too much.
Also, feel free to mock I wont take offense to it. I was already outted for my lack of life.
The team does things quietly. If a coach were ever to out a player for partying too much to the papers, that would be the equivalent of "we tried to keep it in house, but he's not responding, so we'll make it public to push him a little bit".
But neither assessment could be reliably made from a series of snapshots. Other than from someone who is thinking about it too much.
Can't wait to see how great JPP looks in camp! Ugh.
There's some minimum level of working out and staying in shape JPP should meet. There's some maximum level of partying JPP should not exceed. I don't know how on earth a bunch of pictures of him having fun provides any indication if he's failing on either of those levels (unless he looks flabby I guess).
