LT Will Beatty re-signed with the Giants today on a 5-year, $37.5M deal (up to $38.75 w/incentives), per source. $19M fully guaranteed. #nyg
Congrats, also, to Anak for the sticky even though Mort beat him by a split second. This should make up for the Lebron thread which superseded yours. March on!
is likely the bonus and the base salary for the first two years. Years 4 and 5 don't mean as much, though the money is likely much higher in those years.
19M Guaranteed

says to me the Giants do not have very many concerns when is comes to Beatty. They are expecting him to perform for the life of that contract.
You need to see the structure of the deal first. How much of that guaranteed money is in guaranteed base salary, how much is signing bonus, etc.?
prorated that's $2.5M cap hit over the deal which is very reasonable for a solid, starting LT. I'm guessing the other $6.5M is in guaranteed base salaries in 2013 and 2014. Probably signifies a very backloaded deal, but we'll see.
defer to others, but that seems pretty fair given that he is an upper echelon, albeit not top 5, LT. But you have to believe somebody is going to get axed to make room for that contract. Or somebodys.

Only 8 OTs allowed fewer total pressures than Beatty last season and none allowed their QB to hit the deck fewer times than he did (sk+hit)

HUGE move by the Giants to re-sign Will Beatty. One of only 4 OT this year with a +10.0 @PFF grade in both run and pass blocking.

the oline franchise tag value for 2013 is $9.4M. On average this deal is worth $7.7M/year which is almost 20% below the franchise tag level. Seems like a very good deal for both sides.
I'd like to compare his numbers against other LTs before
From here, we should also see a decision on Webster, and others.
I feel we won't get a shot at any of the top olinemen. Now if they all get drafted before us it could push our guy to us.
Will Beatty's 5 yr, $38.75 M deal with $19 M guaranteed includes a $12.5 M signing bonus, per source.
