Official Salary Cap space for all 32 teams as of July 8, 2013
•The Giants are officially $3,308,682 under the cap at this time, ranking them 26th in the league.
•The numbers are always changing; Hell, they changed again this morning after the publication of the article.
•Denver's cap number has decreased by $535,000 (meaning that a transaction of theirs went through this morning to the league office) from $10,697,563 to $10,162,563
•See the
LEAGUE'S TOP 51 CAP REPORT for constant updates.
•While browsing, take notice of the Redskins, who are in the worst short term position in the NFC East with respect to their cap space.
•Believe it or not, the cap penalties that they incurred may have saved them from their own stupidity, since they're now forced to focus their efforts on making prudent cost-saving decisions, instead going on their traditional off-season spending sprees (wait until RG3's rookie contract is up though if you want to see them return to their old ways).
•The Cowboys, while in decent short-term position with respect to the cap for 2013, are a house of cards.
•They constantly restructure contracts, and push back Dead Money.
•As far as the long-term is concerned, the Cowboys are going to be in deep trouble since they'll be forced to make a lot of cuts; don;t be surprised if they have a year or two of awful football, as Jason Fitzgerald from overthecap.com pointed out in this podcast covering the salary cap situations for teams from the NFC from June 21st linked at the bottom of this article, while discussing the salary cap status of teams in the NFC, starting with the NFC East.
•The Eagles are in the best position in the division, ranking first both in the short-term as well as the long-term.
•The amount of carryover money that they have is massive, and helps them to have added flexibility with the choices they have
•Traditionally though, they are not big spenders under their owner, but the minimum cash spending rule in effect between 2013 and 2016 will encourage them to avoid not doing what they've done before; even if they don't though, the penalty is not severe.
•This article by Jason Fitzgerald from overthecap.com, dating back to February 17th explains it all rather well:
"Minimum Cash Spending: Does It Mean Anything?"
•Take a look at the rest of league too for teams that have extra space ($5 million or so is the cutoff point in the Top 51 phase of salary cap accounting), and feel free to discuss.

This is a combination of Reese's poker skills and Abrams' actuarial mind. Accorsi would've caved mid-season 2012.
•It went down from $2,879,000 to $2,530,000.
•That's a difference $349,000.
•This is a credit to our own Patti Traina, who said that Cruz's cap number could go down. which it did.
•The room that the Giants now have under the cap should increase now, going from $3,308,682 to $3,657,682--a positive.
•If you factor in the signing of Pugh, the cap number should go down about $961,436.
•That would bring down the Giants' cap number to approximately $2,696,246 after the Pugh signing.
•Nassib's signing wouldn't affect the Giants' overall cap number since it wouldn't fit into the their Top 51 cap numbers (the Top 51 accounting rules are in effect now until September 5th).
•I wouldn't be surprised to see a restructure to Weatherford's contract next.
•It could net the Giants up to an additional $738,750.
•This would bring the Giants' cap number up to $3,434,996.

I wonder if they converted some of this year's Tender Money to Bonus Money, and spread it over the years. That's the only way I can think of that would reduce his hit this year, eh ?

It virtually guarantees that VC is here for the full contract and that another extension is possible after that. Whoever wrote that Contract should be congratulated.
