BigBlueInteractive.com will be hosting a live chat session with former Giants' Punter Jeff Feagles on Friday, July 12 . The live chat session will appear via Google Hangout on the BBI front page.
In advance of the chat session, we would like to invite our readers to submit questions for the chat session. The moderators of the site will select the 10 best questions to ask Jeff.
Please post your question on this thread.
1. You have seen a lot during your career in the NFL...what are some of the funniest locker room moments you can share? (pranks, incidents or speeches)?
2. Who was the best coach you played under and why? If it was Coughlin, what made him standout?
3. What is your opinion on Matt Dodge and Steve Weatherford?
1)How did you get so good at the Coffin Corner kicks? Was there someone specific that taught you how to be so efficient at it?
2)What organization did you play for that you felt like had the most class? What was it like coming from a franchise like Seattle with not a very long history, to the Giants?
1) What is the funniest thing that you have ever seen happen in a huddle?
2) Which is more satisfying, getting off a nice punt from your own end zone, or nailing one on the opponents one yard line?
Did the Giants-Eagles games mean more to the Eagles or to the Giants?
to buy you a backyard set after giving up #17?
Beat me to it.
My alternative question would be what was the highest pressure punt Feagles ever had to attempt?
very good teams, and some very bad ones. Is it sometimes better for a Punter to play on a team with a bad offense, meaning you'll get a lot more work? Or is it strictly a quality over quantity thing?
The ear plugs. Has he ever kicked without them, and if so, what was the inspiration behind them? Is it something that every kicker should try at least once?
Once you knew that you had become one of the premier punters in the league, what kind of training/motivation tactics did you use to allow yourself to continue to perform at a high level?
(e.g. directional kicking) and in some cases, the last line of defense. Can you recall for us your most satisfying tackle of a punter returner (if any)? Also, walk us through your thought process as the returner is barreling toward you.
how would you balance helping rookies and protecting your roster spot?
After working with Bryan Anger of the Jaguars briefly last summer, have you done any other "freelance punting consulting"? Have you caught the coaching bug?
what sort of adjustments did you make punting in the old Giants Stadium? How would you generally factor the weather into your planning, preparation or techniques for punting?
punters are sometimes treated as valuable and respected teammates that can impact the game and othertimes looked at with mockery and disdain by some coaches or other players who make the risky "physical plays".....can you talk about your experiences generally as to situations where you felt most respected or least respected and if you are willing, any specific players or coaches who stood out in extremes in that regard?
a holder for the kicking unit. From a player's perspective, what is it about being on special teams that distinguishes it from other positions in football?
did you ever get settled on a particular shoe and have to deal with the manufacturer discontinuing that model?
Did you have to stockpile?
Or are they custom made? How does that work?
Who are some of your favorite teammates that you didn't really get to work with because they weren't involved with any of your special teams units?
to avoid a runback? What technique or strategy is involved in that -- i.e. what do you aim for, and how greedy do you get in terms of distance?
I was there and loved every minute of that game. I noticed a momentum shift in the game that no one else seems to talk about, and thus this question.
On one of your second half punts, you were leveled by a wicked hard hit, and were down on the turf for some time. Flags flew. It seemed like a turning point to me in that game as Buffalo had brought the nasty to our senior player.
From that moment onward, IMO, your team mates ratcheted up their hitting, and pounded the Buffalo team. A tit for a tat. Youre gonna hit our senior punter? We can bring it too. The intensity level scaled up dramatically, you could hear the pads popping way up in the stands.
Is this accurate? Any comment on that play and its effect on the game? Thanks!
Do punters ever try and draw roughing the kicker penalties?
and only person I've ever met with a Feagles Jersey.
I know holding is important, so How much credit do you give yourself for made or missed field goals?
made you such a reliable punter? Why were you so good year after year while there are so many erratic punters out there?
Why do you believe directional punting has become a lost art?
great memory and question.
And if Feagles harbors any resentment towards him
prank he pulled and received?
Would you have punted it to Desean Jackson in 2010? ::ducks::
Was QB Jared Lorenzen (the "Hefty Lefty") as good a long snapper as he appeared to be in training camp?
When practicing with another punter, have you ever tried to field the punts?
did you learn the football drop bounce you used to practice on the sideline ?
what are your thoughts on Jim Fassel?
on a scale of 0 to Steve Weatherford, how many shirtless photos would you tweet?
that you thought about kicking the ball up the snappers ass on the next series?
Did you consider changing your name to F'n Eagles ??
What makes us such a "classy" franchise? The people? The staff? The fans?
1. What do you make of the old barefoot punters and kickers? Have you ever seriously tried to punt barefooted? Ever tried it in the cold? I have, and that crap hurts! How in the world did Mike Horan and those guys pull it off without hurting their feet, and then how the hell did they run downfield with one shoe and attempt to tackle a returner?!
2. Does it bother you that one of the longest recorded punts was kicked by a QB, Randall Cunningham?
3. Just a note- Giants fans certainly endeared themselves to you over time, but it was tough for me at first, having grown up seeing your name on Tecmo Bowl rhyming with your then team moniker (which I won't name here). Thanks for all you did for the NYG's!
who can both punt and kick? A few years ago there were 3 or 4 draft prospects who were among NCAA leaders in both. I would think that with the salary cap this would be appealing to a team. Thanks!
Over the years how do you think punters have changed the NFL for the better or worse ?
If you were to start all over again as a punter what things would you have done differently ? Any regrets ?
Besides the Giants what modern team these days would have liked to play for if you were a rookie ?
I heard you traded your number to Eli for a family vacation, to want extremes have others traded numbers ? Curious how did Eli approach you over the Jersey ?
over the George Washington bridge left footed?
I'm probably going to let this run until Thursday morning.
Chat is going to be at 10:30 AM for those who want to watch live.
credit you for the punt that put them in position for the safety?
MetLife Stadium? How are the winds different?
are you closest with?
who was the funniest guy you played with on the giants?
I'm wondering if Mr. Feagles had any connection to Dave Jennings, did he ever meet him, discuss football/punting. Any thoughts regarding the late Dave Jennings?
you absolutely hated to punt to during your career?
Who is a better punter, you or your son?
Can Huskies fans expect to see you at games?
