Connor Barth tore his achilles and will miss the season.

Good luck, Larry!

should add distance to his kicks, thus making him a 'better' kicker this year(accuracy aside).
I wish him well, except aginst us, of course, and thank him for the GB kick, and not missing FGs in '46'(42 also?).
Barth apparently tore it while playing in a charity bball game...

His kick in GB is the single greatest kick, considering all the circumstances, i've ever experienced as a fan.

All the best to a good Giant.

He took years off of my life in Green Bay but ultimately got the job done. TWICE.

I'll never forget the insane rollercoaster of emotion I felt within a split second when he kicked the game winner in Green Bay.

Looked like it was going wide initially and I was about to be crushed.. and then it hooked back in and everyone went crazy and the elation was off the charts.

The guy kicked us into 2 Super Bowls. Forever grateful.

Except where it costs the Giants of course. Two huge kicks that have forever etched you in Giants lore.

Larry. You've given us many great memories.
Tynes and Matt Bahr
an_idol_mind : 7/17/2013 11:57 am : link
will both be forever immortalized for the same reason: they weren't perfect kickers, but they came through big time when it counted.

The kick to get the team to Super Bowl XLVI wasn't quite as dramatic as the Green Bay kick, but let's not forget that the field conditions were terrible and the snap was a bad one.
Peace out Tynes

As a Giants fan from the mid-late 90s till now, your presence has defined the golden age of Giants football to me.
Good place for him
andrew_nyg : 7/17/2013 12:07 pm : link
the weather down there should help with his distance, and he's always been good from 40 and under.

Thanks Tynes! We get it, it's tyne to go.

I don't think I ever once felt confident when he lined up for a FG even after he proved to be a good kicker.
I still get goosebumps watching that OT playoff kick...

Wrong.

Who's in the running for our kicker now?
No Giants fans are ever confident about the kicker.

kinard : 7/17/2013 1:24 pm : link
... and he's eternally part of Giant's lore. Still....

I wish he had more leg in Philly last year and his miss early in the Atlanta game was brutal.

What have you done for me lately Tynes?.... OK, your two game winners in brutal conditions in both NFC Championships get you off the hook.

For those 2 kicks, you'll always be OK with me.

Love Coughlin talking about the GB overtime kick
bceagle05 : 7/17/2013 2:24 pm : link
on America's Game. He said 'field goal' and all he heard in the headset was all the assistant coaches going nuts, telling him not to do it.
Good for him.

Awesome kick.
When he first signed with the team
mikeygiants : 7/17/2013 5:32 pm : link
and then after his first season I did not think that he would last. I think I remember Coughlin ripping into him a few times after some botched kicks. A lot of people wanted him gone, myself included.

It's awesome to see how far he's come with this team, especially with the personal issues he's gone through over the years with his kids. How can you not wish him well?*

*unless we're playing the Bucs.
he always very solid
Neverend : 7/17/2013 7:01 pm : link
he struggled in the beginning of the 2009 because of an issue with his technique that tom Quinn got him to correct after watching old film of tynes. since he fixed that, he was tremendous for most of 2009

in 2010, he struggled early because of his holder. the great matt dodge. when dodge was replaced as the holder after week 4 against Chicago, tynes went on to make 17 straight field goals, he went 12 consecutive nfl weeks without missing one until the finale against Washington. that's awesome

2011 the giants didn't really kick many FGs but in 2012, they kicked a lot (too much really). he was on pace to becoming the nfls all time leading scorer in a season, which is kind of hilarious, but hell its something. the giants did nothing against Atlanta/bal and went on a TD spree against philly so he wasn't able to get the record, if that's a bad thing anyway. Regardless, will remember the game winners against dallas in 09 and the nfc championship game in 07 the most. always had trust in him
I wish you well Mr Tynes

Doomster : 7/17/2013 9:37 pm : link
He pulled that 43 yarder....then missed the 36 yarder because of a bad snap.....now Coughlin sends him out for a 47 yarder....I think no one had ever kicked a fg over 40 yards in GB in the playoffs.....and Tynes is going out there again.....he nailed it! Thanks Lawrence......
Congratulations

Why no Tynes?
Tark10 : 7/22/2013 8:06 am : link
I thought the organization didn't resign him because he would be too expensive. Nobody picked him up yet the Giants still went in another direction. Why did they give up on Tynes?
