Pictures aren't the greatest as I had to shoot through a chain link fence and around the beat writers, pro photographers, and Giants.com video team. Therefore the clarity isn't great as the lens trys to focus on the fence rather than the players. I wasn't expecting such a big turnout today and when I arrived at 1:15 the bleachers were already filled. If any of you have a connection to get me into the VIP area for next week I'm all ears. :)
Camp highlights, lowlights, and random notes that I jotted down. Some may have been discussed already but here goes.
1. Hosley destroyed Laron Scott minutes into the hitting getting a lot of oooohs from the crowd.
2. On the first or second play from scrimmage Shaun Rodgers just missed landing on Wilson's knees. I saw it through my camera lens and almost threw up my lunch. I will post the picture below.
3. Hankins and Moore impressed the heck out of me. "Damonster" blew up a fullback early on for a stop behind the LOS.
4. Randle was once again a stand out. Eli hit him with a bomb down the left sideline where he was able to make the grab over Prince who hand him covered well. I was on the opposite sideline so couldn't see if he was in bounds but according to Sam Madison he was out. Sam was waving it off and clapping.
5. Barden made a few catches but on one down the right sideline in the 2 minute drill it looked as if he had cement in his shoes. Dude looked sllllloooooow.
6. Nassib looked very much like a rookie for most of the day but he had a perfect deep ball to Talley late in the practice.
7. At one point Cruz was coaching up Andre Brown in the end zone away from the action. It appeared Cruz was showing him positioning and "jukes" etc on how to shake free of a defender. Speculation on my part but thats how it appeared. See pics below.
8. Wilson took the first kickoff to the house with a burst down the left side that drew a loud roar from the crowd.
9. Eli missed Myers a couple times but on the second one he showed frustration with myers by signaling "you were supposed to cut in" with his right arm. My guess is Brandon ran wrong route
10. Tuck looks like he's more cut than last year. Noticeable difference if you ask me.
11. Mara and Reese were out on the field for most of the day watching.
12. Weatherford joined the D line in the autograph signing along with Jesse Armstead. Weatherford is a really great guy as he really worked the crowd to get to as many people as possible.
Thats all I got. I will be back out there next week for a few days. Enjoy the pics:
BTW - can someone tell me what the different colors caps mean?(like in last photo). I always see them in NFL team practices; don't know the diff. designation(s)...
Were they all taken outside of the fence?
What camera and lens did you use? (if you don't mind me asking)
Jeesh, talk about hold your breathe on that pic of Rogers falling onto Wilson.
Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it all.
Randle is tall, looks more than two inches taller than Nicks and Cruz.
Whatever Cruz and Brown are talking about, they look pretty serious.
They used the end around with Manningham to some extent when he was here, and it was somewhat effective, but since then it seems like it's been taken out of the playbook.

strahan phase of his career.
Except that Tuck is buffed and carrying maybe 280-285 to Strahan's 250#.
There's a difference between ripped and slim.
