It just seems with all the restriction on prcatice times and what you can do in practice like that any form of practice is such a premium. And if so, this seems very unfair to me.
I heard the Giants have a large screen in their practice area and are lining up their D based on what the Cowboys do working on their calls. It's even.
injured. For a team like the Giants that aren't making a ton of changes the reward is smaller than the risk. For a team like Dallas which is making a lot of changes it isn't the worst thing in the world to get one more game
It helps because I swear, in my 50 years of following football it always seems like the deck is in some way or another stacked to give the Cowboys an advantage. Maybe it's from being a lifetime Giants fan. LOL! But I also hate that the Cowboys get a bye week before they play the Giants the 2nd time this year.
Miller's not really a sleeper considering his level of talent, but I do think he'll be a breakout player this season. There had been nothing but glowingly positive buzz about him coming from Dolphins beat writers over the past several months, including Omar Kelly saying that they felt Miller was a younger, faster, better version of Bush, which is why they let him walk without even trying to bring him back.
The fumble on the opening carry obviously wasn't a good look, but it won't matter at all in the grand scheme of things.
That's fair. I stashed him on my bench in my auction keeper league last year despite having a shallow bench just so that I could keep him this season. I've been a big believer in Miller ever since he was a freshman at Miami, so I'm expecting big things.
Wallace ended up signing for more money than most people expected him to get on the open market, but the Dolphins were desperate for a difference maker on the outside who can threaten a defense vertically. Hartline is much more suited for the No. 2 receiver role, so they should be fine as the starters. They'll still need some complimentary weapons to step up in multiple receiver sets, but the addition of Wallace should provide immediate dividends.
I felt there were four first-round talents at RB in that draft, including all three players you mentioned. Miller plummeted because of his shoulder injury, but he hasn't experienced any reported setbacks after receiving very little playing time a year ago.
But their receiving corp was laughably bad. He should be able to take the top off the defense and open things up for Hartline. I forgot that Bess left though.
Yes it was. I'm curious to see how Keller will fit into their offense as well, but they'll definitely need to find a No. 3 receiver to replace Bess' production.
Yeah, I remember you and I both liked Miller a lot last year going into the draft. I am in agreement with you on him going into this season as well. I think he's a legitimate breakout candidate with Bush having moved on and Thomas not really having impressed a ton in either of his first 2 seasons.
His time was limited last time but Miller did average just a shade under 5 ypc. I think the growth of Tannehill and the addition of Wallace to stretch the field should really help open up the run a little more.
Second-round TE Gavin Escobar reportedly hasn't made any standout plays in training camp and is struggling with his blocking.
ESPN Dallas lists him in the "stock down" category after two weeks of camp. Escobar couldn't block a lick at San Diego State, so reading that he's struggling there comes as no surprise. But he has strong hands and was a dynamic slot receiver in college. With James Hanna nursing a hamstring injury for the past week, Escobar had a chance to emerge as the No. 2 tight end. He's done nothing to help his stock. Escobar may turn out to be this year's Michael Egnew.
From a fantasy perspective, I think the biggest concern I have with Miller is that I don't expect him to get goal-line carries. But they did keep him in for the first third-down opportunity they had tonight, which supports the notion that's been coming out of Miami about how he could be a three-down back as soon as this season. Philbin recently praised the progress he's made in pass protection since he became a Dolphin, and I think he'll surprise some people with his ability as a pass receiver.
I thought Miller dropped in the draft because of his knees
Miller easily has the most talent of the group. I really like Gillislee though. He is just a great all around back. He may not do anything great but he does everything well.
Nope, Miller's knees are fine. He underwent shoulder surgery roughly four months prior to the 2012 draft, which raised medical red flags and caused him to plummet. He played through the injury throughout his sophomore season.
but why isn't there a scrimmage to take it's place? I know teams didn't want to come to Albany (or at least that was the explanation), but other than the Jets (who I wouldn't go near after the last time), you'd think there'd be teams that would go to the Quest (as long as we had a return the next year to their place for scrimmage.)
I'd rather the pre-season be 2 scrimmages and 2 games, anyway. Less chance of injuries, and they would get more work in. It's not like the first 2 games are watchable, anyway.
not surprised in LT because he's a putz, but I'm surprised that you are so shocked that there's no switch that just turns on and off when a player I liked/hated in college gets drafted by a team I like/dislike. Lets not pretend that I'm rooting for the Cowboys here. There is a clear difference. And it really isn't a big deal either way. Surprised your panties are all up in a twist about this.
the Dallas defense is flying to the ball. I still don't think this style fits their players but they look good so far. Lets see how good they are stopping the run which is one of the negatives about the Tampa 2. On top of that, I still like our weapons against them. We will see though.
I don't care if you want him to do well... that's your right.
For Dallas I think the key is the health of Lee and Carter. Both are extremely athletic and I think fit well with the system. Seeing the hustle by the Dallas D and flying to the football is concerning. But I do think Dallas's DL is too weak.
gave up a few big runs but overall they are shutting down most of anything the Dolphins are throwing at them. its like the 2008 Giants offense they are running though. we are light years past that. thats why i look forward to eli going 15-18 yards downfield routinely on these clowns -- i dont think they'll have an answer.
to the football on defense. wade Phillips ran a similar 1 gap attacking scheme. I actually think its a great thing if they're going the tampa 2 route, I think eli can pick apart that defense and david Wilson will make a living on big plays if guys are penetrating upfield while leaving wide open gaps/lanes
the giants offense has a huge day September 5th. Ive never been more confident. its the defense im concerned about, and this new base offense with 3 TEs that dallas is going with. sounds kinda intriguing
Cowboys will run mad on the Giants.New and improved oline led by Frederick and unleashed dozes of Murray and Tanner and Romo slinging it.God help our opponents if our oline is as good as advertised.
Cowboys are the definition of team that has been coasting off of past success from a long long time ago. Have fun rooting for your owner to die, because that's the only way things will get better in Dallas. It's an awful truth, but it's the way it is. He is too much of a meddler, and likes to involve himself too much in the personnel. Now he's meddling in coaching too. Didn't Dallas also fuck themselves in the ass with all the restructures they did? HAHAHA oh man, I'm so glad I'm not in the shoes of a Cowboys fan.
Last I checked both Dallas and Giants missed the playoffs
Nice seeing you are talking about past success as well. The talent has been re-shuffled on both sides and nobody knows who will be better.Dallas could easily win it all this year and enjoy the stay in the Giants locker-rooms.
As far as talent goes,I would rank the Giants forth in the division. Giants don't have any proven rbs and an aging oline. To go along with inept corners and linebackers. All 3 teams Dallas/Philly/Skins have established player in one of those 3 positions. All the Giants have is a qb and wrs, nothing else.
We've enjoyed 2 recent championships. Your old ass decrepit looking snake oil salesman of an owner mortgaged the future on a team whose window is pretty much shut. A good owner does not castrate his coach and insert his own handpicked guys to serve as coordinators. Cowboys are and always have been a zoo. Have fun waiting on a dream that will never happen (talking about the Super Bowl). I hope you soaked in the rings Jimmy got you, I'm sure you appreciated it when you were a bandwagon little shit in middle school.
Hey btw last 3 superbowl host cities didn't do so good did they??? When Indy held the superbowl = Peyton Manning out for season...Saints lose their coach last year...and Dallas is putrid in 2010.The superbowl city curse..watch out.
Cowboys have more superbowls than the Giants and our roster is stacked and very deep.I would not trade 1 dallas player for a Giants player except for maybe Nicks for Bryant. We have better team speed and now our coaching is up to par.Lets see who does better this year, ayyy?
go back to your parents basement. You can come and talk shit when the Cowboys win something meaningfull. It's still the Giants division, 2 Super bowls in 6 years, You don't even have a playoff win. Go munch on a bag of dicks, and bring your tissues to wipe yours and Jerrah's tears again after you loose again at home on the 8th.
Giants missed the playoffs 3 out of 4 years.Giants = luck and fortune and a couple of runs. Dallas is way more talented and has a better future.Good luck living on past success...in which case we have better past success. The only reason Dallas hasn't won the same 2 superbowls is a bunch of luck...that all.
I get riled up over things like race-baiting, probably take it too far myself. You just got riled up over me saying you bit Arc's steez. Clearly a joke.
Remember week 1 bro...cause we will make sure you do
got to be incredibly painful for a Cowboys fan to admit what the Giants have done, and done to them lately...
Cowboys Stadium has basically become Giants Stadium...

Who do you think you are?
This is a crock!
I am ready for some football!!!
Lance Dunbar looking decent
I really hate the cowboys and I live in Dallas.

I'm sorry if that offends your apparently oh so delicate sensibilities.
Lawlz.
But yea, you suck.
Translation: Eli who?
I also think it's safe to assume that I'm probably not overly serious around here.. like.. ever.
So.. don't worry about my panties. They're still nice and in place.
At least you're making an impression?

You fuckin' putz. Are you going to be blowing this guy all year?
It was also one tweet and on a Dallas Cowboys preseason thread. ctfd.

Jon, I've had 5 people on MySpace, 2 on Facebook, 3 on Xinga, and 7 through a company chain mail saying how much you're a dickwad.
Bunch of scabs.
Hankins is a beast. I loved that pick.

And you don't need to be witty to use the word putz.
You just made LT56 look like Malcom fucking Tucker.

Give the guy a break.
Go tell the 49ers (historically you biggest tormentors and current NFC champs) how good you are, better yet, the Ravens - Current NFL champs.
You, (especially your owner ) are way too tortured, relax; stress kills.
