is the one right before the Giants punted while they were busy talking to Urlacher. I wanted to see that play again, but they were too busy blathering on to maybe worry about the actual game. That shit was annoying
The good- Run D looked stout
Tuck and kiwi played well
Wilson is a special player who runs like ,mccoy/jcharles
Will beatty if he stays healthy can be a phenomenal tackle
The bad- diehl, diehl, diehl, and diehl
He just gets abused in every aspect
The oline except for beatty seemed very shaky at best and is a huge concern moving forward especially with the injury to baas
Redzone needs to be fixed we have all of these weapons in cruz randle nicks and wilson, we should not be settling for field goals as much as we do
David Diehl is fucking awful. Andre Brown looked better and shiftier than David Wilson. Browns vision is far better than Wilsons. Pugh looked solid when he was in.
Cruz had both the cb and safety beat but Eli hung it up there.
Eli to me still needs to get on the same page with Nicks.
Giants looked slow on O and looked better on run defense.
Marvin Austin had a couple of real good plays... Â
Of the handful of plays I saw, Pugh's man didn't even get off the block. I'll get a more accurate view when I watch the entire game without interruptions.
When on offense I only watched him while the 1s were in. He made a block or maybe two in pass pro. The other plays he was either beat or had a RB double his guy.
Seriously, I am not buying this stuff that Pugh and Brewer Â
haven't shown enough to unseat DD. It's more of Coughlin's comfort level thing again. Saw it with Ware vs. Brown. It didn't make sense then and it still doesn't.
think Austin helped himself, as he did last week, but I just don't know if it's enough. OTOH, he is a second round pick, and that plus any spark of ability might be enough to earn him one more year.
Diehl was beaten so quickly that plays don't have any chance to Â
I thought Rivers looked great out there tonight. He was playing fast out there, chasing down ball carriers and receivers. He destroyed the fullback on one run up the middle and created a pile, very Carl Banks-esque. He looked like a former high first round pick tonight in his limited duty.
The defensive line over all did a much better job vs. the run today. Rogers was more active out there, clogging up the middle. As did Joseph, Patterson, and Jenkins. Granted the Colts are not a good running team, but that was much improved out there.
And if the Giants can ever get Will Hill to get his head on straight, this guy looks like a player. When he hits guys, they go right down. He had a few good hits out there.
Also, for me, Josh Brown is on this team to hit long field goals. That's why that strange unsportsmanlike foul on Coughlin wasn't a bad thing. I'd rather see him try from 45 than from 30. Tynes lost his job because he lost leg strength. Seeing 2 long field goals from him go through easily was a big plus.
Reese really did want to cut DD in the offseason and also has the final say over the 53, then it's going to be really interesting to see whether he cuts DD over Coughlin's objections. I'd just get rid of him for a veteran who doesn't survive the last round of cuts. Get another Locklear type player. That and Eli's pocket presence should be enough. It just isn't enough when DD is beaten two microseconds after the snap. Diehl is fucking up the entire offense.
practices has on talent evaluation. Fewer snaps must make it difficult for a coaching staff to say definitively that so and so has beaten out so and so. These preseason games may prove to be more important on that front than they have in the past.
I agree....TC for whatever reason doesn't let newbies come and play with the 1's even thou they appear to be better performers...... I think at this point, why not take a preseason game to give Pugh or Brewer a shot.....I understand assignment but if you cant come close to executing what's the point..... You gotta get these young Guys some experience.
At this point, I'd take a chance on what that donut mascot of theirs could do at RT instead of Diehl, but the team isn't going to make any moves there, barring injury (especially with Baas hurt yet again). It's not just Coughlin, but Reese too -- that seems to be clear when JR talks and goes on about how they've won a lot of games with Diehl, etc.
Again, it's going to just be on Eli and his pocket presence to save the day. He did in 2011, and, while perhaps not something we can fairly expect out of him on a season to season, consistent basis, perhaps he can channel it back for 2013.
Yes I know that it is still preseason but the Giants just looked bad in so many aspects and for a team that has SB aspirations it was alarming.
Offense- With the amount of skill position talent that this team has the redzone offense has been awful not just tonight but for several years now.
Eli should not be 8/17 in any game.
Nicks looked like he was at 70% with no explosion
This OL just doesnt run block well and it is rare when they move the pile. This OL is such a far cry from the 2008 line which was the best in the leauge.
Diehl--well no need to beat a dead horse
Defense-LB are not good..getting to average would be and upgrade
CB--with the exception of Amukamara they all scare me
time at RT. I really don't care it its Pugh or Brewer but if TC decides to start DD then 2 Superbowl wins be damned, he needs to retire because he's fucking blind or senile.
For the life in me, I can't understand why the Giants Â
did not address this issue in free Agency?? The importance and priority in having a good Oline is huge!! Good teams focus on keeping their oline top notch, why did the Giants ignore it? Especially knowing Eli is key and he has so many weapons at his disposal??! Gilbride not helping that's for sure, but that's expected. They need to find a way to fix this issue or its going to be a long season for Eli and this offense..
in which the corners were at least 10 – 15 yards off the LOS allowing the Colts WRs to at least continue a drive and at most give them an opportunity to shuck the CB for a long gain. I think we have the same old Fewell…but I hope not.
"rationale" for keeping DD is apparently that he can play LT "in a pinch" if Beatty is hurt. Actually, he can't, and he's so bad I'd trust Pugh more at LT than Diehl. Get rid of Diehl and go with Beatty and Pugh as your starters, and a veteran from final cuts as your third tackle. People keep talking about Brewer as a RT, but I'm not seeing that right now. McCants doesn't belong in the league.
like this next week I will begin to worry but not this week.
Thought Pugh did well for his first game. Also looks like Cox is a keeper. Nicks definitely needs to practice. Run defense improved maybe at the cost of the pass defense. Really really tough decisions on the DL.
Really don't know how anyone can judge Nassib considering who his supporting case.
Anyone focus on Cordle at center?
Listening to the post-game

interviews on WFAN. Everyone is laughing, joking around. They don't sound like they care.
IT'S PRESEASON! They haven't had a meaningful game in over eight months, and have played 2-3 quarters of game situation football since then! Hell, I heard a talking head call Mark Sanchez the best looking quarterback in the preseason so far!
Nassib continues to demonstrate that Jerry Reese and Tom Coughlin smoked crack together at least once in their lives.
Rookie QB, third and fourth string OL, second game of his career at the QB spot in the NFL. Despite that he threw two perfect screens to Cox who could have scored if he slowed down.
And this genius says the 2-time SB winning HC and GM are smoking rock.
Running back situation is reminding me of 2011 when we were all in panic mode about receivers/tight end which then became strength of the team. Wilson, Brown, Cox all looked very good. How did coaches at Michigan miss the boat on Cox?
Even with Cruz out, I still didn't understand the wide receiver personnel groupings unless they just were trying to get a look at different players and combinations. Barden, btw, just stinks.
Defensive line run D looked pretty good throughout. Broha, Ojomo just make plays.
On the other hand, Herzlich just doesn't make plays. Looks like it will be Conner in the middle.
Carr apparently doesn't see the middle of the field very well.
Obviously, having practices is not working for Eli....he needs more work out there against a real defense....not the one he faces in practice....
Disappointed in the execution and play calling.....what's the word? Predictable!
DD? I don't get it....I just don't get it.....
Nicks looks like he is not running well
Our lbs are going to be a problem
Going to be very hard to cut some of theses DE and DT. Amazing depth.... To bad they can't play LB
Tuck and kiwi played well
Wilson is a special player who runs like ,mccoy/jcharles
Will beatty if he stays healthy can be a phenomenal tackle

Giants looked slow on O and looked better on run defense.
He's slipping off blocks in the run game too.
They are in cement.
Whoa... if looks could kill.
He looked pissed.
Why?
Maybe because he was severely outplayed by a second year QB on national TV.
ANd by a lot!!!

BUT... Rivers got sucked in real good on a cut back that he should have handled easilty.
THe run was strung out to the left by Patterson, and the RB changed directions and Rivers drifted to far inside.
Just real bad play by him.
DD is being beat at the snap of the ball and he killed at least 2 drives... or prevented them from every getting underway.
He can fuck things up all by his lonesome.

He looked like he was out there to get some reps... stretch out a little... and get himself ready for the regular season.
But he looked pretty nonchalant out there.

FUCK. YOU.
You're horrific on BBI. Just awful.
Why use a first round pick on a RT if he's not going to get reps with the first team?
I want to see how we do in the red zone once we start game planning. That's what I am interested in seeing.

Off night for Eli. Not concerned. It's Eli.
