why practice schedules don't fit the game time for the next week's game ... We're playing at night so wouldn't having practices near the gametime instead of early help get a team's biological clock more prepared ... ??
just studies have shown that when a worker's schedule is suddenly changed their productivity goes down ...
practice at 11:15 AM to prepare for a 8:30 pm game is like changing a worker's shift ...
so yes 8:30 pm practice would get a player's body used to exertion at 8:30 pm ...
JPP playing seems as much about his desire to play as health and what I am seeing/hearing (first in sprints) his desire is picking up. I kind of see JPP back next week, but who knows. The giants will be conservative here.
I don't think you can dress both JPP and Moore if they are both less then 100% unless your just filling out guys to dress because there are so many injured guys. And so far Diehl and Bass are the only definite guys not dressing on the roster.

Status quo at #NYG practice: JPP + Victor Cruz participating again. No surprises yet. We'll get availability update from TC after practice

Adrien Robinson (foot) not participating today. Told me yesterday he was hopeful for Week 2 #nyg

Henry Hynoski is working again in practice today ... but repeating what I was told yesterday, don't expect Hyno to play Sunday night.

Damontre Moore is practicing today, so thinking he's got a shot for Sunday night. We'll see. #nyg

Don't see David Baas, so not expecting him for Sunday. David Diehl is out here working with trainer, but he has already been ruled out #nyg
At the D line position they've got to inactivate some of those guys. They have 6 DE and 5 DT. Other then DL and possibly Jernigan and Mcbride who can they realistically deactive?
I predict Hankins is inactive as there is a lot of depth in front of him this game. Then 2 out of JPP,Moore, Ojomo.
setting practices at game time will eventually become a celebrated innovation by a forward-thinking coach.
It's not just about practicing at the time they will be playing, but setting up their schedule for the week to set their bodies up to be the most alert.
they've got an all-pro player who's been practicing all week and he's not going to play? That seems highly unlikely. They could certainly limit JPP's reps and the situations he's in, but I can't imagine they wouldn't play him if he's physically up to it. Now, for a player like Moore, that's easy to imagine, so I think Hankins, Ojomo, and Moore are the 3 other inactives, but JPP's playing!
I'd be surprised if Both JPP and Moore dress if they are both limited, unless overall the team is so banged up they just happen to have an extra spot they can afford to give a DE and they go with 5 DE. So I thought 1 of 2 dress and while JPP is the superior player, his injury was more severe.
Given all the other banged up guys, especially if Hyno is out, and my math was wrong at 46 vs. 45, they probably can go with 5.
first off, he's not JPP, and secondly, his injury is different. There really shouldn't be any issues about JPP re-injuring his back at this point, it's just a matter of being in "football shape" and conditioned. With Hyno's knee, that's something that he could get into trouble with in the wrong situation in a game, so I can more easily see being cautious with him.
That Eli/Gilbride thing true? Wouldn't be surprised, we have the horses.
Next: Given the proven talent levels and the back issue, I'd rather 'sacrifice' an Ojomo to give his body and go all-out than a JPP as mentioned getting back into football conditioning. Both would see limited reps anyway. And given the character of the 'boys organization, and Dez, I wouldn't want a 'questionable' block to take out JPP(Would they do that? Yes, IMO).
small part of one of his discs removed. There really isn't much to heal besides all the soft tissue that you impact when you do the surgery, which really isn't that much. Just like for the heart, all back injuries and all back surgeries are not the same. This one is relatively benign to the extent of my knowledge.
strong term.....perhaps just a little more insight from someone who's a little less nonexpert than the others here....but no attitude or insult intended.......just a difference of opinion
I don't know where to begin. If Bob knows more than me about this then I defer to him. I'm not disagreeing with him but it was as simple as he said then why was he on the PUP for so long? I just don't see the Giants gambling with their premier defensive player. I'm not saying he will not play but I agree with others that if he does he will be on a snap count. I don't think they signed Ojomo if they plan on dressing all of these other DEs. That is just my opinion. I think Ojomo was signed for this week and after this week we will release him and pick up a RB. After that RB is here for a few weeks and/or Brown comes back I see us releasing Scott and going after another player (S, LB, etc.)
because Moore is just getting back from his shoulder injury so we had two DEs being questionable going into Wednesday and we weren't going to sign a vet RB until next week because of the vested veteran rule.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't think for 3 and a half hours it constitutes the same thing as a long-term shift change.
that study showed that after a couple of days productivity got back to normal ...
Synchronizing practices with the game time might ease the tension.
Someone will try it eventually.
Whether or not it makes a big difference? We'll see.

Robinson
Diehl
Baas
Hynoski
Nassib
Hankins
JPP/Ojomo/Moore(one of)
Now, that's not to sugest theat he'll play 'extensively'...I can totally see them limiting his snaps to 25-35 total.

Cruz + Hosley probable, JPP, Hynoski + Moore questionable, Baas. Diehl + Robinson out #nyg
