Wow, 6 turnovers
Bramton1 : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
And we were just a few boxes away from winning the game (bounce off Scott's hands, bounce on the onside kick).

Bring in a veteran rb.

Defense was bend but don't break, and was impressive in the second half. Gonna need to step up for next week. We need Prince!

Webster was solid
chris r : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
which is going to be key if we're going to play better defense.

Tuck at least looked more active I thought too.

JPP looked rusty. Kiwi looked ok.

What was jacobs going to do? Hop on Snee's back?
Ten Ton Hammer : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
You think he could run behind this line or catch a screen pass?
74 snaps for Dallas, 330 yards
Kyle : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
Defense played pretty damn well, all things considered.
The sad thing is with Wilson on the second strip
bigbluescot : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
he was actually protecting the ball correctly. He's just lacking the strength to grip it, I'm not sure how you fix that unless you tell him to stop fighting for yards and collapse on contact. Teams are going to target it every time he touches the ball.
Holy shit, did some watch this game, Pugh was probably the best OL
Mason : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
in there.
RB position is a complete
SanFranGiantsFan : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
shitshow.

Wilson was horrendous & probably cost us the game tonight himself.
Eli was narrowly beating out Wilson
Knineteen : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
for leading rusher of active players in the organization....I think that still stands as of now.
In a twisted way, to lose by only one score
BigBlueBuff : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
after six turnovers is actually somewhat encouraging. You've got to take away whatever positive you can at midnight before a long week of work.
Tonight we learned
81_Great_Dane : 9/8/2013 11:48 pm : link
The Giants passing attack is as goo as anyone's. The Cowboys couldn't stop it even knowing the Giants had to pass and have no RBs even if they wanted to run the ball.

The D is reasonably solid -- at least when they're not knocking each other out of the game -- at least against the run. Dallas scored 3 points off the first INT. 7 points off the fumble runback. 5 points off the pick-6.
Jacobs is not the answer
AnnapolisMike : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
He is done. Torrain is likely the guy.
Jacobs couldn't hop on Snee's back, the giant fork would be in his way
bigbluescot : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
.
JJ
SBlue46 : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
shouldn't be happy they barely beat us...we gave them the
game..5 TO's..our D is pretty sound...needs tweeking..
but O lost the game...our running was badly designed..
KG should have Eli in a hurry up and play action to RB's
they arent power backs w/ this line..Fewel should have
taken out Romo
do you think
lecky : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
wilson is done?
Randle
Matt in SGS : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
Is going to be a better version of Manningham this year. However, he should have run up and fair caught the punt that hit McBride for a fumble. Growing pains for a young returner.
Tough to hate on Scott
Aaron in MA : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
Thrown in the fire and for a while I thought he was fine.
Exactly, mook...the fumbles were fantastic Cowboy plays
Kyle : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
Not Wilson making mistakes. The notion that every fumble is a mistake is odd...and wrong.
Defense played very well.
AnishPatel : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
The pass rush is not there except for the back to back sack on the same series. Blitz packages still aren't creative and thus get picked up.

We kept them off the board, but this was all on the offense and the comedy of errors.
I'm going to try to take the positive views
Matt M. : 9/8/2013 11:49 pm : link
1) Cruz and Nicks are clearly healthy.

2) Randle is a legit #3

3) The DL and front 7 in general played well against the run and tackling.

4) Tuck looks healthy.

5) They were at 5 turnovers and had a legit shot to win. That still says something about this team.

6) Pugh looked good.

7) Not 1 kickoff return against Brown

All that said, I had no doubt Eli was going to win this at the end. This is clearly not a game we should have won, but even with 6 turnovers, it is a game we could have won.
In this offense
Knee of Theismann : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
we just need a RB who can do 3 things:

1) Block
2) Catch a screen
3) Not fumble

That is all.
Rarely can you blame a loss on a GM
jeff57 : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
But you can blame this one on Reese's refusal to replace Bradshaw and Brown with adequate veterans.
Wilson
Paul in Brooklyn : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
starts next week. The guy had two fumbles. It's not a career killer.
lol bring in a veteran RB??
prdave73 : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
How about an entire Online and some LB's and some safeties, and a blocking TE and a RB??
Wilson is the reincarnated Wendell Tyler
Rich Houston-NYG-WR-1971 : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
He Sucks. The Pro game is too big for him.
Jacobs would've picked up his blocks
95cobraguy : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
not wiffed like wilson
6 turnovers.. Not 5
TommytheElephant : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
.
We looked completely ill prepared
Modzelewski : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
In many facets of the game tonight. Dallas played poorly and could have (should have) really taken us out if the game a lot earlier. I have a feeling it's going to be a very long, disappointing season.
Kyle -
Exit 172 : 9/8/2013 11:50 pm : link
It wasn't just the fumbles. Wilson is inept at pass blocking, and he couldn't even line up right on one penalty.

He's a terrible running back right now. He had to leave the game.
I can't believe we went into this game
Ten Ton Hammer : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
with two RBs.

I just don't get why Torain was cut. I don't get it at all.
On the punt, it's poor coaching
bigbluescot : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
Randle doesn't need to catch it, it was a wobbling duck. What he does need to do is let the protectors know to clear, and the protectors need to quit grappling and get the fuck away from the ball.
dline
Greggiant : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
Because I am an optimist I will focus on a positive. I was very happy with the interior dline and the run defense. I also thought our secondary played well.
Wilson you can't cut bait on - but Scott?
jcn56 : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
Not sure there's any point in keeping him on if we pick up a vet RB.
yeah, wilson's fumbles and missed blocks were
Some Fan : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
not his fault. He is terrible. wake the fuck up.
Wilson needs to do some curls this week
Knee of Theismann : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
.
man it's only 1 game
Bake54 : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
everyone's crying like it's the end of the season.

At the end, the team played pretty good. Maybe this was what they needed. A cold hard slap to the face.

Next week we'll see. I wouldn't be giving up on anybody yet.
I hate taking any solice in a loss . . .
Ralph.C : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
. . . but I don't think we suck. We definitely need a veteran running back.
pro's..
OZgiants : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
pass protection very good tonight.. Eli came on strong in 2nd half. The wide receivers are awesome. Defense was ok (I hold the offense responsible for 24pts). Secondary looked good, I think. Made some good plays on the ball.. generally tackled well aside from 3 or 4 plays.

hard to ignore the running back play tonight...
the defense
jintz4life : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
was phenomenal all things considered

they gave up <5 ypp
Snee
MookGiants : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
has 15 regular season games left with this organization and hopefully 3-4 playoff games. But after that he needs to be cut, he got his ass handed to him again tonight. I'm incredibly appreciative of what Snee has done for the Giants and he's been an awesome lineman for a while, but need to cut bait after the year. He looks close to finished as a starting guard
I want to see Cox
chris r : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
.
The ball was on the ground
Enoch : 9/8/2013 11:51 pm : link
by my count, 7 times.

1 was the muffed kickoff and wasn't contested.

2 were Dallas fumbles. Cowboys recovered both

3 were Giants fumbles (including the punt karoom). Cowboys recovered all of them.

1 was the onside kick. Dallas recovered.

Could be hustle; could be awareness. But it's also a hell of a lot of luck in the random bounce of an oblong ball.
Saying Pugh was the best OL
jeff57 : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
is like saying he was the tallest person at a midget convention.
I disagree
lecky : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
I think they will be fine. Who would have thought they would have had a chance to win this game?
I don't remembe Tiki's fumbles being this bad
SB : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
...not on the 10 yardline on both sides of the field.
While I'm fishing for silver linings
BigBlueBuff : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
isn't it true that the Giants were 0-1 in the division in 3 of the 4 SB Championship seasons? (Dal in 86, Dal in 07, and Was in 11)
No one really impressive out there
Anakim : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
Beanie has bad knees, Turner sucks, Dwyer has poor conditioning...

I'd roll the dice on Dwyer all things considered. I don't know about McGahee
KG
SBlue46 : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
said this week he had no idea how running game would work
and would have to ad lib...he had no plan or confidence..
we live and die by Eli///KG is a pawn
are u kidding Paul? Wilson doesn't see the light of day
Rich Houston-NYG-WR-1971 : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
on the playing field after this game. He sucks. We lost this game because he couldn't hold onto the ball.
Yes Wilson
TommyWiseau : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
was bad but Scott had a drop on that drive then the INT a few plays later, he still was put out there. At least be consistent Coughlin
Breaking bad
Carl in CT : 9/8/2013 11:52 pm : link
Sucks as bad as the giants. Overrated as any series I've ever seen. I wasn't this pissed in the 70's.
