I couldn't believe he was that slow. Maybe gassed from all the plays, but Dlinemen were catching him on that play.

out-execute teams or out-smart them. bringing in your heavy guys is just daring the other team to stop you...yet, the shotgun handoff wants to fool them.

but my initial reaction, sad as it is, is that we probably just lost our best bet to score the TD when he got tackled.

The thing that sucks is its now gotten to the point where we get mad at the play-calling from the 1 yard line when they run up the middle and it gets stuffed, because it never works. But it really oughtta just work most of the time. I know it fails so much we should spread it out more, but the core problem is that we can't ever pound it up the middle for half a yard at the goal line.

for being opportunistic and having good reaction time (basically all game but we'll stick to this play for now) in catching the deflecting pass by Prince and intercepting the ball and running it down to the half yard line for our offense to score.. seriously?

I wanted him to score too.. but guy made a play.. I'd take that every week

Even the TD he gave up to Witten was well-contested.

Witten was well contested. Herzlich was crucified for his coverage of Witten and he actually did a better job of covering except that Witten was able to push off a bit to gain space on what was a bit of a back shoulder pass.

Actually it was well covered by Mundy as was the one by Herzlich.

and Mark still sort of held his own. He did about as well as you can for a guy of his limited ability. I still say Mundy did a solid job.

who his blockers should have hit a bit earlier and not let impact the play at all. Slowed him down enough.

Last year in the opener against the same team when Boley got stopped at the 1 and we couldn't score. So damn frustrating.

constantly fall over it's own feet at the worst possible times with interceptions, fumbles, penalties, etc. I am so sick of seeing crap like this happen week after week. When do the coaches start taking some responsiblity to straighten this mess out? Beatty and Pugh did a decent job but the center of our OL was atrocious and Eli was running for his life most of the time. The run blocking just plain stunk, and these are supposed to be NFL caliber offensive lineman? Coulda fooled me!

"assumptions" about what happened on any given play the game is in real trouble. This happened at least twice tonight if not more. If they don't personally see a penalty then there should be no penalty called, period. They should never just "assume" anything, ever.
