week 9 (the bye week)? A RB will most likely be cut to make room for him: either Da'Rel Scott or Jacobs). Da'Rel Scott is probably the more likely of the two to get cut then.
going for his knees and ankles again. Well he has had time to heal so we should get some milage out of him. Now if he can start catching some screens, we might have something here for a change of pace.
for this since the 49ers cut him. He is a Giant, he has been a BIG part of their Super Bowl Championships, If he has anything left, he brings more attitude and enthusiasm back with him.
jacobs can certainly pick up blitzes and catch the occasional pass or run a handful of times a game. another big plus is his emotional pregame speeches.
not worried about what happens when brown gets back
Wilson to increase upper-body strength (decrease stolen balls);
Scott to increase lower-body strength so he doesn't go to the turf after the first touch.
I never wanted him to leave and i think its a great move bringing him back for a variety of reasons. To all you guys who oppose this move, stop bitching and man up!
We don't need jacobs to run the ball more than 5 times a game.
We need him to pass protect and not get Eli killed. He is the only person who was available, besides DJ Ware, who has had the experience back their with manning. Plus he can teach Wilson how to be a true back in this league.
I remember when bradshaw was given the nod over jacobs, he struggled at first to be the top guy. Wilson is obviously still going through some growing pains and i still expect him to be the star back i know he is capable of becoming. It will only be a matter of time with jacobs being back their with him.

Ayy to fantasy participants and pissed Giants fans ur irrelevant to me!!! Nobody wants me to succeed more than ME!!! WATCH US WORK!
should be FB....and have 22 or 33 in 2 back set..
put Rhino on IR...but KG will use him as a RB and we
will be worse off...we need Oline help...and OC who knows
how to use talent...22 and 33 in Eagles spread would be
awesome

What's Brandon Jacobs' role with the Giants? "Whatever they need me to do, he said. Whatever role they want me to play."
He's not coming in here to log 275 carries and be The Man. He's gonna spell the young guys and hopefully school them on the finer points of the position, maybe help Wilson with ball security and confidence. One thing I don't want to see is the disappearance of David Wilson. Yeah, he's gotta clean some things up. But he's still the most explosive player on the team not named Cruz. It was also his first fumble in over 130 carries and IMO needs to be on the field. He's a weapon the likes of which we haven't had at RB. And for what it's worth one of BBI's favorite "what if..." topics, Doug Martin, lost 2 fumbles on Sunday too.
taught BJ an important lesson about being a selfless team player. He thought he was being mistreated with the Giants, but got a real eye opener with how other teams treat their players.
but I remember right before he left that I was thinking he was DONE. I dont think he found the fountain of youth either. What he brings to this team right now more than anything is an attitude that is missing from the offense. It is as if we have a bunch if pussycats and we need a big dog instead.
1. If gets past the first level of blockers, he can carry most linebackers 5 or more yards on his back.
From what I've read, some here doubt he will touch the ball anytime soon. I sure hope he does. In my view, this offense has been primarily focused on passing for years. Run blocking is just not a priority, and this is why Jacob's struggled in his last two seasons. If there are no openings in the first level then it's very difficult to gain momentum. However, Jacobs is a beast when the O-line opens up room for him to run through.
2. My Jacobs jersey is no longer obsolete! It remains to be seen if Andre Brown is willing to give up number 27.
you shouldn't be worried about an old has been coming here for one last gasp, filling in for an injured vet.
The alternative is that an old has been coming in for one last gasp is actually a better option. It's bad enough that a never has been journeyman was going to be a co-starter prior to injury.
IF Wilson is anything to write home about, he'll make Jacobs irrelevant and a waste of money.
Jacobs may be 34 in your guidebooks, but he's 27 and (#1!)
is never obsolete. Some guys relevance long outlives their careers. He has more rushing TDs than any Giant in history and he was a key part of 2 Giants SB teams. You could rock a Jacobs jersey 25 years from now the same way someone would rock a Bavaro today. It's always in style. You didn't go buy a Ron Dayne jersey in 2000 when you made this purchase. Im personally not a jersey guy and haven't gotten one since Strahan like 15 years ago when i was in HS. But a Jacobs is never obsolete
I can't pretend to know how important it is for the team itself, but as a fan, it sure is more enjoyable when the team exudes physicality and arrogance (backed up, of course). Just figuratively punch someone in the mouth each week, en route to a 3-4 yard gain, a la the Charles Woodson demolition, and that'd be awesome. Maybe that gets the team fired up and gets them playing better. Who knows. I don't. But as a fan of entertainment, I'll sure as hell enjoy it.
Joe, Jacobs may never be obsolete, but I wanted to give it a couple years post-49ers run before I donned the #27 Jacobs again. That run didn't sit well with me.
reading after Jacobs was cut last year that what the Giants would miss most was his pass blocking for Eli. Well, if he protects Eli as he did before, his signing will have been worth everything. Welcome back, Brandon.
Oh and on Jacobs, I trust Reese so so be it
I'm hoping Giants find a role for Scott, Wilson and Jacobs going forward. Platoon the too three and adjust going forward based on performance.
Every time someone puts Catsup no a hotdog, a kitten dies.
Scott to increase lower-body strength so he doesn't go to the turf after the first touch.

Jacobs said he's gong to try to work a deal with Stevie Brown, who's on IR, to get no. 27 back.
