Carroll has done an out standing job, our scouting has fallen off greatly. Has the loss of Gettleman had this much effect. I've never been a fan of Marc Ross.
Watching this guy in preseason, he looked better than any linebacker on our roster. He was really instinctive and hit like a ton of bricks. The other guy I was hoping we'd pick up was Acho. And now we've got both. If Bradford plays like he did in the preseason, we'll be pleasantly surprised.
the team is now confident enough in Baas's health that Jim Cordle is the player being waived to make room. He's a pure backup, and would be extraneous if both Baas and Boothe are healthy. Other borderline guys like Donnell and McBride are more useful right now.
...if Moore is full-go. Releasing McBride would surprise me. As for other bubble players, I think Donnell is safe until Robinson gets cleared, and I don't think Nassib has had enough time to prove they don't need Painter.
is that he's a pure Center, and that he's clearly the #3 Center. He's certain to be inactive for any game where both Baas and Boothe are healthy, and I haven't seen anything out of him to indicate that the team views him as an important candidate for future development.
8 OL would be light, especially given that one of them is going to be out for another month or so. But I don't see how keeping Cordle on the roster makes the team better. (For what it's worth, the team also has 3 OL on the practice squad presently.)
I think Donnell is safe regardless. It's Pascoe who might need to be wary when Robinson heals up.
Trattou got work at LB this week. But yeah, he's on the end of the roster along with McBride. And if/when Baas is healed up, Cordle might be vulnerable.
Is with only 3 safeties he represents the 9th DB and Hill isn't back for another 3 weeks. Also, with Price not practicing yet they're one player down at CB. It's not a clear choice unless they know Connor is really hurt.
and hits like a truck. Was an absolutely awesome LB in high school, then got switched to RB his sophomore year at USC, where he was a straight-line (but fast) tailback. The switch back to LB on the pro level could NOT have been easy. Talk about a learning curve.
I have no great expectations at this point for Allen, but he is a nice athlete and could conceivably help us on ST's and as depth.
But yes, he might not be #53. Still, he's the 6th CB. So he's vulnerable. The only thing is that Prince is iffy so thinking about it a bit more, I doubt he gets cut this week.
Donnell wouldn't make it to the PS. Too many teams want TEs and he has film now showing he can play. And for all of Pascoe playing two positions, how many snaps did he get at either on Sunday? Hyno was clearly not ready and he played ahead of Pascoe.
Maybe but we hear that all the time. Donnell has little experience or profile. Someone might grab him but it's not like he was a big star in the preseason games.
word was NE was watching carefully to see if we cut him. And TC might love Pascoe but not nearly enough to play him last Sunday over Donnell and more damningly over Hyno.
during training camp, one of the Seahawks was talking about him (I think it was Michael Robinson) said how ridiculous of an athlete this kid is and how he is going to be a natural linebacker as he's super instinctive with very little experience.
is that there are posters who know about players like this. Wow. We may have acquired a lb who has the talent to play the position at a high level. If Connor is ready to play this weekend, I'd cut Herzlich. That experiment has not gone well.
He only has 3 accrued years. His contract is not guaranteed for the year. He is not termination pay eligible, and he has no bonus money on his deal. He is the ideal guy to get cut when Hill returns after week 4. Cutting him and adding Hill's cap number will actually give the Giants added cap room (about $114,000 worth).

He will also probably be the best short-yardage back on the roster, which is pretty sad.
But aside from that he had a good game, and Gates will make a lot of rookie LB's look bad in preseason games.
