He's not making "bone-headed" decisions. The offense is not working and all of the weight is on him to make things happen via the long-ball/quick-strike.
1.2 yards a carry. The Giants offensive system is all about "balance" and The Giants have none. This makes Eli's desperate attempts seem "bone-headed." The play-action fake is meaningless and laughable and that was the Giants "bread and butter" in recent years.
was bad. Second was an unlucky bounce. The last two came when the game was over and Eli was just chucking trying to make a play. He doesn't care about his stats when the game is already over.
even Phillips Rivers is looking amazing compared to Eli this season? wow. Maybe we should of moved up and taken DJ Fluker.. Fluker looks like the real deal, to bad would have been nice, especially on the run game..
Phillips was amazing for all 4Qs, which is something you haven't seen from him in the last couple of years. He was throwing it to wide open receivers all day. But you can chalk it up to a horrid Eagles D, or Phillips making the right reads all day.
As for Eli, what can you say, he has to make his making tough reads and throws where basically he has to read his WR's mind, in an overly complicated Gilbride run and shoot offense. Of course he'll make throws that will make you at first think "WTF is he throwing too"? But of course, it's not necessarily his fault.
If the Giants were running the ball then the system would not be a problem. The problem is that as the game goes on, defenses do lose respect the run and simply play pass. No defender bites on a play-fake and there is plenty of time for them to compensate if they do happen to guess wrong. The Giant offensive line has absolutely no power, their most dangerous running back is preoccupied with hanging onto the ball, and they could play a hand of gin-rummy in the secondary and still get to Jacobs before he reaches the line-of-scrimmage even a a hole were there.
It's not the system. It's the line.
And the coaching staff can't do much about it because GOD FORBID you make them practice in pads twice a day for a week.

I'd just like to see them be able to line up and run out of the I
or an ace set. That they won't even bother going under center is pretty disturbing. It sure doesn't help the running game because how many different runs can you really give out of the gun, with an immobile QB. shit, they have Eli simulating read-option to try and help. lol.
but you would think our coaching staff recognizes we don't have the O-line to run the ball, when their interior D-line are regularly blowing up Snee to make a -3 yd TFL that puts Eli and the offense into such tough situations where he is forced to throw deep, and the defense recognizes this.
Dear God, coach Peyton Manning realized this mid-game and got away from the between the tackle runs to outside runs that killed us for two TDs.
And chemistry. Very difficult for everyone to see the same thing. An offensive system like the wco, everyone knows where each other is going to be at all times. Then its only about execution. That's why the packers offense looks so damn good no matter who is playing wide out or qb. Our offense is impossible to stop when its clicking buy its almost impossible to click. Gotta simplify the playbook to keep everyone on the same page
Eli's played behind. It is what it is. Talk about an easy task for opposing defenses. Sure there's been miscommunication but this OL is a disaster and if they can in ruck themselves this team will be lucky to finish 8-8.
Take any blame for, as a veteran and intelligent 2 time sb winner, is not "manning up" and advises the coaching staff on what would take pressure off the run game and deep pass game. Hearing "execution" and we "missed some plays" is fcking bullsh@t. We didn't miss anything. The end of the half int... The post was covered AND the corner was covered... Its not execution, its a lack of options, and a lack of acknowledgement, that your offense is a dinosaur now. And yes 2 years something can become a dinosaur. Downfiedl passing game works only with threat of run... And route trees work when teams are not cheating to double them in the sweet spots because there is zero threat of a check down and likely we will send 3 guys 15 + yards downfield
unless you have stud WR's / OL / QB / RB / TE... oh wait.
Eli is the only freaking QB that gets the "unlucky bounces" WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT. that kind of bad luck is not possible with out the help our offensive system feeds into it.
the constant miscommunications between him and the WR's is unbelievable. do other teams ever seem to have as many of those as we do?
to go around....Eli has 7, yes 7 interceptions....
Someone said the OL pass blocking is terrific....I think most would disagree...
Based on two games, should we have kept Black Unicorn over Myers?
How many passes are these receivers going to drop?
But that int before the half, is all on Eli...you take what the defense gives you and his only option was to force a pass into coverage, on first down, with timeouts in hand? Inexcuseable....
It's been like this for a long time. He's going to have some games where he looks like the best QB in the league, some where he's pretty good, and some where he makes a ton of mistakes.
Over the years, he's cut down on the terrible games - they're not as frequent as they were when he was younger. And even with all the picks in Dallas, it wasn't an overall terrible game. He threw lots of good passes in that game.
He's not going to throw 50 picks this year. But he'll probably throw 20. He's not going to throw 20 every year (obviously).
It's who he is and it's who he's always been. He's a good QB with a very high ceiling over short periods of time. You just hope he hits that high ceiling at the right time, which he has done at crucial and glorious times during his career.
the system we run. I am surprised people are finding this shit out now. Didn't they show a stat, that since 2004 Eli leads the league in Ints.
This system offers zero margin for error. A miscommunication between Eli and the skill spots end up in an Int. We are lucky if it's a fucking incomplete pass. Ball goes one way, WR goes another way.
This happens every game, of every year. Add stupid bad luck plays, or just bad passes, and those account for Ints. If someone else at another position fucks up our offense now, all of a sudden, racks up turnovers at an alarming pace.
He knows he has to do everything himself.
We wouldn't have been in the game without him, but we basically abandoned the run game halfway into the 2nd quarter.
i know the gmen werent getting anywhere with the run game, but when you have someone like david wilson who could break off a long TD at any moment you give it more tries.
and how about a few screens to wilson after sending three WR deep. must get wilson the ball in space. bad strategy if that is never even tried--they did a couple with scott, and while is as fast as wilson, he is nowhere near as shifty.
You can see that with the forced balls into triple coverage.
He's not making "bone-headed" decisions. The offense is not working and all of the weight is on him to make things happen via the long-ball/quick-strike.

No run.
No win.
what makes it worse is that the route being thrown wasn't the run that was being run, but the opposite. lol. that was just a disaster of a play.

Any time that happens, there is a good chance of an interception.
Now the only one who would include him in the top ten is his brother.

sorry but this system is a shitstorm

Anish... the mis-communication story line is getting very old and very tired.
That INT was not a mis-communication pass.
That was a ball that should have NEVER been thrown. Eli threw it up with Denver Broncos blanketing his receiver.
Bad... as in very bad.
He brought us two SBs but he is not an elite QB like Brees or Rodgers. He is a good QB who can be great for periods, but overall, a B type.
We wouldn't have been in the game without him, but we basically abandoned the run game halfway into the 2nd quarter.
