In the midst of what was another disappointing Sunday of New York Giants Football I took a good bit of satisfaction seeing Prince run over to Bowe and giving him a piece of his mind in the endzone after the Bowe's salsa dance. I can only imagine what Prince may have said, but I'm sure it wasn't him asking how the Bowe family is doing. Prince tends to catch a whole lot of flack on these boards but I will say this, the kid is becoming a favorite of mines. I'm not basing that off of him getting in Bowe's face for doing the salsa dance, but his overall play this year has been outstanding. He's fast, physical and doesn't shy away from contact at all. Kudos to Prince so far for what has been a pretty shitty football season so far.
On the same token, Hakeem Nicks is writing his ticket out of town.
"sir, I find your celebratory behavior in that end zone to be disrespectful to my teammate, I would appreciate if you can refrain from such mocking behavior if you happen to reach the end zone in the future"
What's Prince going to say? 'Hey, that's Victor's dance!!! How dare you do that!!!"
Be impressed by his play, sure. But a fake tough guy act over...dancing? Some of you set a really low bar.
Its shame that there's no reciprocation from the offense, who has put the D in a bad spot every single week this season. Other than David Wilson, its hard to argue that any of those guys are playing with any pride or intensity.
There is something to be said for personal and team pride when it comes to figuring out who will be the good character people in your lockerroom long term.
There is merit in it.
I don't really care what they do.
With this offense, we couldn't score to overcome a 10 point deficit.
He was soft, had issues with his teammates ("different"), and even some latent homophobia thrown in for good measure...you know, the usual BBI stuff thinks when a player isn't instantly a Pro Bowler.
It's a team pride thing. It's not in the least about Bowe in any way.
He seems rather quiet and soft-spoken.
I think it's yet another misdirected waste of energy from players who have much bigger, more important things to concentrate on. It's yet another empty gesture from a team that postures and talks more than it performs. It impresses me as much as Rolle talking big on the radio. Ohhhhhh, fiery! What a leader!
You don't like people dancing? Stop them before they get into the endzone. Once they've scored on you, jog back to the sidelines and figure out what you could have done better.
KC had reason to dance yesterday. The Giants didn't. That's the point. The rest of this is silly bullshit.
Prince has been the best player on the defense all year.
And overall (per PFF) he's the 4th best CB in the entire NFL behind Revis, Grimes, and Leon Hall.
Yeah, we're 0-4. But nobody makes fun of our dancing!
Please.
Sorry, continue freakout session in all facets.
Here is paste of the positional rankings....
Perhaps those actually freaking out are the ones realizing that the glass is not even half full? And trying to convince themselves these little meaningless things are reasons to feel positive?
It's not neccessary.
Again, only one team had reason to dance last yesterday. You guys are bothered by/impressed with some weird shit.
I care about football. You can have the dancing.
You can be in any mood you want, man. And continue to see whatever positives you want. But I'm also going to continue to say what I think about what I see. I'm sorry for both of us that my less sunshiny perspective appears to be a more accurate assessment of the team. You want to counter my arguments here, fine. Do it. But just saying 'Hey, let's talk about the positives of our 0-4 team not matter how small or how insignificant.' Nah. I don't have to adopt your eyes any more than you have to adopt mine.
But, in general, expecting people to feel positive today strikes me as more than a little unrealistic.
They are evaluating. Constantly evaluating. They are watching and evaluating EVERYTHING.
Because they are going to have to make a lot of decisions at the end of this season on who stays, and who goes.
In a football lockerroom, what Prince did goes a long way. Guys notice it, and so do coaches.
And yes, I didnt care for it when they were winning ball games and the Super Bowl.
Is it harmless? Yes.
Is it also corny and overdone? Yes.
Vibe...have you ever played organized sports???
The Cruz dance is always silly, but it is especially so when the team is sitting at 0-3.
As for Prince sticking up for him...I guess that's great. Didn't affect the scoreboard.
From way back in the early days of discussing Manning and his lack of screaming I have always felt a lot of BBI'ers could use a good, serious, course in leadership.
They were trying to make him angry. Trying to make him fight.
Some of you look at football in a vacume, rather than a game played by living, breathing, emotional human beings.
Guys arguing that this is an example of Giants pride take pride in some truly odd shit. It's beyond a reach.
You could easily trace the ice tub incident last year to that moment yesterday, as that's what the ice tub's intended purpose was, to toughen him up. To make him meaner. To show more fight.
I'm not saying I understand the mentality of a professional football lockerroom, but after coaching in high school as well as growing up with a head high school football coach and being around the lockerrom for many years, you see stuff like this all the time.
And coaches and players notice stuff like that.
You either get it, or you don't. Not much more to say than that.
Add in the Breaking Bad finale being so good and, really, we're 4-0.
You know it's over when they are indifferent, ala Joe Horn and the cell phone in 2003. Guys just shrugging their shoulders and walking off the field.
But whatever, it is what it is.
Ah, the small victories of an awful season.
Just watching him shake his head I felt for him. That's got to hurt the confidence. Can't even make a play or have a chance to make it because there are no blue uniformed players even in the fucking tv frame. Just a sea of KC players waiting for the int.
You know what's impressing Prince's teammates? That he's playing well while most of them are not. And that's what they'll be talking about in film sessions. Not his bad sportsmanship and thin skinned behavior in the face of another team's celebration.
It has no affect on the field, I agree. But that's where the disconnect is.
You're not understanding that I'm not saying what he's doing is propelling the team in any way, or going to motivate the team.
But the coaches notice. The players notice. He's also backing it up with his play in the field.
That's leadership, whether you see it or not, and it's a positive.
Prince's sexuality is mocked because he has chosen to remain a virgin.
And, 'not for nutin' but, given the chart, having the #6 guy(Joe Haden), and the #4 guy, in Giants blue, would be great.
I'm done talking about this at this point, as I'd just be talking in circles. My viewpoint on this subject in it's entriety can be read above at this point.
Jacobs throws his helmet into the stands and people say that shows how much cares. How fiery he his. "Loud words!!!! Wild gesticulation!!"
I get it. It's drama. It looks exciting. It gets fans fired up. Drama! Look at the displays of emotion! It's meaningful!!!
The show of emotion that impressed me yesterday was Paysinger when he stuffed Charles and nearly ripped the ball from his hands. Because he was emotional about making a fucking play. Or Herzlich after tipping the pass. Those emotional outbursts actually had something to do with the game.
Prince did not go after Bowe in the media. If he had, I'd have a problem with it.
Prince has been doing nothing but being our best CB. You never hear anything from him in the media.
I don't think you understand the distinction, otherwise you woudn't be comparing him to Rolle or Tuck.
that being said, it's not a negative, and with the particular player involved having a "reputation" (at least among many here on BBI, LOL) of being soft, I can see people wandering through a desert of negativity desperate for a drink considering this a positive event in the morass of crap we've seen through 4 weeks.
Does it take the sting off for some of you? I sure hope so, otherwise, what purpose does it serve?
Yay. Go Giants.
Look at me with all my crazy talk about plays actually relevant to the outcome of the game, as opposed to some chirping a guy did after we went down by 4 touchdowns. How can I not see that for the meaningful, important moment it was? Because that's definitely the kind of thing the Giants were talking about in the locker room after the game?
But it's me who is looking at things in a confused way?
Hey, if this is making your own emotions easier to deal with...
You had to come on here and talk down to people that liked it?
For what purpose exactly. My emotions are just fine. I feel like one of the few rational people on the board today, to be honest.
Plus didn't you say you were going to leave this alone, like, 4 posts ago? Isn't that kind of the definition of can't-let-it-go?
There are any number of threads in which people are expressing optimism. And for reasons more logical than this. And yet you keep coming back here. That's on me, too?
Yeah, that's something alright.
Liked Prince's play yesterday - that was impressive.
Hazing = wins. Except when it doesnt.
Congrats to vibe. Solid work on this thread.
Seemed like he was complaining about copying a stupid dance.
Holy shit...
He was objecting to someone doing Victor's little dance.
He was objecting to winners having fun winning.
On their home field.
Because that is legitimately objectionable?
Because Giants pride isn't about winning. It's about individual's TD celebrations. Which are, of course, sacred.
Nobody wants a dirty player, but players should be pissed and act a little "uncivil", for a lack of a better word.
I dont often agree with Carl Banks, but after the Carolina loss, he was very open critisizing the team, said something like he's surprised nobody from the Giants picked a fight with a Panthers player... to him, as an ex-player, the players "didnt care", hence all the "players quit" stuff attributed to him.
So yeah, Prince getting in Bowe's face is a good thing in my book.
I didn't think it had anything to do with Cruz...but I don't know, maybe Prince said otherwise?
Kudos to Prince for sticking up for the Team ......
Remember Homer Jones a Giants great kinda started all this .
Emlen Tunnell also did a flip of the football I think ..
Anyways when we were hammering teams and Cruz was doing
the damage your gonna tell me you had a problem with it
go fuck yourselves...
:(
I said it meant nothing. Thats what the gif. proves.
fucking attention whore
Vibe : YEAH BUT IT DIDN'T HELP US WIN THE GAME.
Poster #1 : Uhm...no argument here. I just thought it was cool to see some fire out of him, you know?
Vibe : YEAH BUT I LIKE WINS OVER PROTECTING DANCES.
Poster #1 : As do I, but unfortunately we as fans didn't get to choose whether we could get a win out of this game or watch Prince get in someones face for doing the salsa.
Few days later
Vibe : HEY LOOK AT THIS GIF OF PRINCE NOT GETTING IN THE WRs FACE AFTER HE DOES THE SALSA AND WE STILL LOSE.
In conclusion, thanks for school us that that whether Prince gets in the face of a WR after he scores a TD...we still lose. Mind blowing stuff over here at BBI 2.0.

points.
This dickbag lives for gotcha points....
I feel like you, of all people, should have a better handle on what actually constitutes a weird argument on here.
Girth-y love is good, no?
And the gif is funny. My Eagles friend showed me it after the game.
In short, you still have no idea what this thread was about. And yet you can't stop posting on it.
Which just goes to what a waste schooling is when people refuse to learn.
Also, it's fantastic how you bring up that I can't stop commenting on the thread when you're probably hitting double digit comments on this thread and decided to revive it from the dead a good 5 days later.
