In the midst of what was another disappointing Sunday of New York Giants Football I took a good bit of satisfaction seeing Prince run over to Bowe and giving him a piece of his mind in the endzone after the Bowe's salsa dance. I can only imagine what Prince may have said, but I'm sure it wasn't him asking how the Bowe family is doing. Prince tends to catch a whole lot of flack on these boards but I will say this, the kid is becoming a favorite of mines. I'm not basing that off of him getting in Bowe's face for doing the salsa dance, but his overall play this year has been outstanding. He's fast, physical and doesn't shy away from contact at all. Kudos to Prince so far for what has been a pretty shitty football season so far.
On the same token, Hakeem Nicks is writing his ticket out of town.
"sir, I find your celebratory behavior in that end zone to be disrespectful to my teammate, I would appreciate if you can refrain from such mocking behavior if you happen to reach the end zone in the future"
What's Prince going to say? 'Hey, that's Victor's dance!!! How dare you do that!!!"
Be impressed by his play, sure. But a fake tough guy act over...dancing? Some of you set a really low bar.
Its shame that there's no reciprocation from the offense, who has put the D in a bad spot every single week this season. Other than David Wilson, its hard to argue that any of those guys are playing with any pride or intensity.
There is something to be said for personal and team pride when it comes to figuring out who will be the good character people in your lockerroom long term.
There is merit in it.
I don't really care what they do.
With this offense, we couldn't score to overcome a 10 point deficit.
He was soft, had issues with his teammates ("different"), and even some latent homophobia thrown in for good measure...you know, the usual BBI stuff thinks when a player isn't instantly a Pro Bowler.
It's a team pride thing. It's not in the least about Bowe in any way.
He seems rather quiet and soft-spoken.
I think it's yet another misdirected waste of energy from players who have much bigger, more important things to concentrate on. It's yet another empty gesture from a team that postures and talks more than it performs. It impresses me as much as Rolle talking big on the radio. Ohhhhhh, fiery! What a leader!
You don't like people dancing? Stop them before they get into the endzone. Once they've scored on you, jog back to the sidelines and figure out what you could have done better.
KC had reason to dance yesterday. The Giants didn't. That's the point. The rest of this is silly bullshit.
Prince has been the best player on the defense all year.
And overall (per PFF) he's the 4th best CB in the entire NFL behind Revis, Grimes, and Leon Hall.
Yeah, we're 0-4. But nobody makes fun of our dancing!
Please.
Sorry, continue freakout session in all facets.
Here is paste of the positional rankings....
Perhaps those actually freaking out are the ones realizing that the glass is not even half full? And trying to convince themselves these little meaningless things are reasons to feel positive?
It's not neccessary.
Again, only one team had reason to dance last yesterday. You guys are bothered by/impressed with some weird shit.
I care about football. You can have the dancing.
You can be in any mood you want, man. And continue to see whatever positives you want. But I'm also going to continue to say what I think about what I see. I'm sorry for both of us that my less sunshiny perspective appears to be a more accurate assessment of the team. You want to counter my arguments here, fine. Do it. But just saying 'Hey, let's talk about the positives of our 0-4 team not matter how small or how insignificant.' Nah. I don't have to adopt your eyes any more than you have to adopt mine.
