No Webster, Ross, Hosley possibly this week.
See a lot more zone defense
so sick of Webster and Hosley always being hurt.
will they use Rolle or Hill at CB? Im pretty sure Hill played some CB last year
it definite that they're all out on Sunday?
Hosley barely played.. how can he be injureD?
a 2012 pre-season pick-6 off of Mark Sanchez without getting hurt (turf toe).
That's where he got hurt.
got hurt on a kickoff where the ball wasn't even returned.
could have been a big spot for Hosley to finally jump ahead of Ross...but he's hurt again.
Clearly at the bottom of the depth chart after seeing McBride acquit himself fairly well against KC.
I don't remember Webster have a history of missing games because of injury. The least amount of games he has played in a season besides this year was 12 in 2006. Did injuries he played through hamper is play last year?
broken hand in September and hamstring issues all year.
mcbride looked good when he was in there
the offense cant score anyway.
Ross repeats his mistakes constantly and it is frustrating to watch.
than Holsey and Webster
Corey agreed to a huge reduction in his salary and has made every effort to help the team. His body is just betraying him.
Holsey is slightly built. Injuries are always going to be a potential problem for him. But he has shown some ability. Has a good knack for breaking on the ball at just the right moment. He is also making peanuts.
So we're gonna ignore LB again in this draft? :D
we might not win on Sunday as was previously guaranteed?
Webster is a Giant through and through. He's earned my respect. He's played hurt before, if he's not playing, it's serious.
Hosley is tiny, and another example of a 2nd/3rd round pick Reese has blown. A third round pick on a 5'9 inch 170 lb corner in a league where small recievers are 6 feet tall.
So, since that hasn't happened yet....
when they can never stay healthy????
sick of them all that point, bunch of underperforming, injury prone bums. I'm sorry just very down about all the injuries to an already poor squad.
was drafted as a slot corner. The hope was that he could add weight. His slight build probably makes him more prone to injuries. If he doesn't work out, it will have NOTHING to do with the fact that he went to Va. Tech. (I say that as a UVA alumni.) It will be because Reese or Ross mad another bad draft pick. He is not the type of corner Seattle would have drafted, and their secondary may be the best in the league.
As far as Webster is concerned, I don't view him as "injury prone" despite last year. His problem may be age and accumulation of injuries from years of playing. He has been a great Giant IMO. My guess is that he still gives us some good games this season.
I could see him as one of our cuts for cap reasons. Very good player when healthy, worthless when not, and since he's injured a lot that's a lot of worthless.
...that is now an injury-prone pro.
THAT should be one of the major criticisms of Reese's draft stragey. Drafting injury-prone guys that "would have been first rounders if they weren't injured."
Don't forget S, LB, TE, and pretty much every position on the roster. We're in desperate need of dramatic roster turnover in the next couple offseasons.
You don't have to stop. You can say whatever you want and be as juvenile (that, by your own admission) about it as you want.
But I definitely want to make sure its pointed out to everyone so that when David Wilson is ripping off 1,000 yard seasons and scoring double digit TD's that there's a nice long line of crow served up for you. And I want to be first in line. =)
Yep, I doubt we'll go LB in the first two rounds.
But if we're a top 5-10 draft pick, the best thing would be for us to trade down with a team that needs a QB (Browns?) and accumulate quality picks. We have franchise players, now we need to fill the roster out with quality players.
that we get concentrated injuries at either the cornerback, receiver or defensive tackle position.
This is Webster's last year under contract along with Deihl and Tuck.
Signing injury prone players just does not work. Time to cut bait with Webster, Diehl, Snee, Baas, Tuck, Rivers, and Andre Brown. Plus the next injury to Terrell Thomas must be the end for him also, I am very leary of planning with Hynoski now also, and would cut bait with him also. We seem to be working with a patchwork team every year. Every year we get killed at cornerback and the offensive line, and we never even start out with any chance for us to have even a fucking decent linebacking corps. The only reason we are respectable at safety is we paid a kings ransom for Rolle. Can not be any worse now, time to clean house this off season and start over. Plus I would not sign Nicks to any long term big contract deal, that is a disaster waiting to happen. The team needs a major shot of heart and balls.
who played well during the preseason, the undrafted FA.
his body doesn't hold up anymore. he may still be effective when he plays but his body is just breaking down
hosley is proving to be injury prone and has 1 year left before I cut bait.
I don't care much about ross.
To be fair, I cited my legitimate, non-Hokie reasons for disliking the pick at the time of the pick: puny, lousy tackler, gambles and gets burned frequently, injury prone. He's lived up to every one of them.
"He doesn't play like he's little" ...uh, yes he does. When you hear a comment like that, you think of a ferocious player that is a sound tackler.
As long as we have the same shitty D-coordinater
Should have been released after last season when he was wore then awful. Hosley is another Jerry Reese bust. Reese has had a lot of them.
he's shown some nice skills. I don't think DB will be as much of a problem this week as many think, however, depth is my concern. Rolle's played the slot before and Hill has played some CB, last year, I believe.
For such a small player, Hosley really can hit with a pop. That much is true. Problem is that laying guys out isn't as important as making routine tackles, and Hosley's one of the worst in the NFL at that.
"Broken Down Warriors" wing of the Giants roster. Too bad, another proud Giants succumbing to age.
I don't think that Hosley is any great loss. I agree with Greg from LI: Hosley sucks. Small, weak and dumb.
Giants got Tuck in the third round because of his foot injuries at ND. If he had no injury history, Tuck would have been a top 15 pick.
The problem comes when you lock these guys up longterm with big contracts.
Giants have almost a third of their cap space going to guys who are out with injuries, ineffective because of injuries, or have been cut because of injuries.
i think websters been on the team for 10 years. not a bad return for a 2nd rounder who was injured. he was one of the better dbs for most of the middle years on the roster.
better then ross or thomas
Based on virtually every single BBI post, Tisch & Mara should sell the team; the new owner should fire Reese & the entire coaching staff; cut every last player except Eli & Cruz, since Eli's the franchise QB & Cruz is the only Giant playing well & he just signed; forfeit the rest of the games this year; & start over from scratch next year. The team they put together from free agents & top draft picks in each round can't possibly be worse than the virtual expansion team talent they have now. That should make everyone happy, because it will give everyone even more to bitch about next year.
As long as Eli makes it out of this season healthy, anything else is acceptable collateral damage.
This season was the perfect storm in payment for two amazing SB runs. Circle the wagons and get ready for 2014.
with Webster, Ross and Hosley out. So Prince, T2 and McBride will just have to get it done. Rolle and Mundy will need to have very good games.
