I need 20 tons of fill delivered. The truck MUST go over a buried SDR35 pipe from my septic system. Pipe looks to be about 4" and buried 12" (guessing) in the ground.
Is there ANY tip or trick to accomplishing this?
Or am I going to be manually moving 20 tons of fill? (SOB!)
It's bad enough I gotta pay $175 for something that I can dig out of the ground for free!
what's the worst that can happen?

if so, I agree. I thought depending on density of the fill, 1 ton would equal multiple yards.
Hell, rent a skid steer for the day and chop your time in half.
If the pipe is only 12inches deep you risk crushing it. You probably(key word here)wouldn't flatten it(it's pvc, right?)but you'll end up cracking or splitting it, maybe even quite a ways from the initial weight, and you'll have all kinds of trouble later.
Also remember the weight of this truck is going to be enormous. Wait until you see the depth of the tracks it makes as it moves across your apparently damp ground.
The (somewhat) good news is the fields are less than 10 years old, so hopefully new construction standards produce more robust systems. The tank is original. NOTHING runs over the tank...partly because it's in an ideal location away from everything.
The septic system is really screwing up my plans for my property. I'd love to pay someone to haul in 200 tons of dirt and level my entirely property but I know this would probably destroy my entire septic system. Now I have to pick and choose my battles.
Sunbelt is a good national company. They don't do half days rentals but, they don't charge extra for delivery either and if they are more than 45 minutes late delivering, you get the day for free.
Duh.
6" isn't much thicker and it's not any more resistant to outside force.
The skid steer isn't a bad idea or any small tractor with a bucket will do. 20 yards is a lot more to move by hand than you've been led to believe.
But it depends on how far you have to move it. If its front yard, driveway, back yard...easy shit.
If its over the meadow and thru the fuckin woods then you either change forkin plans, sell the property or airlift that mutherfucker.
Or be prepared to be knee deep in your own shit...and everyone else's that has ever visited your casa.
Use a catapult.
Looks like I'm going shovel and wheelbarrow...
then you can just drive over us for $10.00 an hour
If its that shallow...it wont be filled with shit...
