only one run i can remember that was up the gut, the 3rd and short play that bj broke for 10+ .. i think cordle is doing better then baas was at this point.. he isn't giving up sacks and making glaring mistakes, thats all you can ask for at this point... just pray he doesn't get hurt
I think he's "helped" playing next to Diehl since Diehl's often beaten so quick no one else matters.
I haven't noticed many positive plays in the run game from him and there's rarely a pocket for Eli to step up into, which is probably partly to blame for Beatty/Pugh struggling.
since Cordle is, afterall a backup himself. Baas wouldn't have done anything more.
I remember how comical it was though to watch Cordle in the first half of the pre-season game against the Jets DTs. They basically thru him around the field like a rag doll.
But if you go back and watch the first int, you will literally LOL watching him try to block. Cordle doesn't engage anybody immediately but then a Bear (i think Peppers) comes into the middle and Cordle puts his head down to engage and basically falls onto the ground when Peppers moves a bit.
being the tallest midget, but he's been the second best NYG lineman after Boothe according to PFF (not counting Mosely's 5 snaps) - and Cordle has a negative overall grade.
he played well last week.. and has done a good job..
as a backup center when really needed and called upon.. however.. I don't think he's the type of player the Giants want to be their starting center now and moving forward..
With the amount of "football knowledge" that BBI collectively acts as if they posses, I am going to assume we have a ton of high school or college coaches in our ranks here, yes? No? You mean you just act like you know what 53 mens assignments were on each play from your lazy-boy? Legit.

We're what you call "sexual intellectuals"...you know..f'ing know-it-alls!
we've heard time and again that nothing improves a player like playing time. You really can't replicate it in practice or even pre-season. Perhaps for some Giants, 2013 will be a chance for them to upgrade their game.
He gets driven back virtually EVERY play. The pulling guards run into him which makes it impossible to pull someone across the formation unless you help Cordle with his man. He is often seen looking for someone to block in pass protection and gets pushed back into Eli if he is not given help. In short, you don't have to know "all the assignments" to see that he is a liability. I expect he tries hard - his limitations are physical and I don't expect improvement. He is a back-up - and not a good one.
On the bright side ... his snaps ARE good and he lines up in the right place on every play.
This is not the starting center you are looking for.
at a charity event in the spring and spoke to him for about 15 minutes. Super nice and humble guy, but the thing that struck me about him is that he was not a very big or imposing guy for an NFL offensive lineman. Not surprised he frequently gets pushed back by DLs.

Fine as a backup.

The Giants need a center that can knock the snot out of you and push the line back the other way. Cordle is not that guy.
He was not.

Comical.
He is sub standard in both the run and passing game.
Cordle would be "barely backup material" on most teams, but on the Giants he is almost a marginal starter.
