Seahawks re-sign Michael Robinson - Updated: October 22, 2013, 5:42 PM ET By Terry Blount | ESPN.com - ( New Window )
Amazing how the passage of time cuts into the desirability of some of the FAs that some splooged over not too long ago
RB - D.J. Ware or the Blumpkin
FB - Lawrence Vickers (he would be a termination pay problem)
WR - Devin Thomas
TE - Jake Ballard
OT - Max Starks (followed by RT/LT Sean Locklear if he's healthy) **Max Starks was signed by the Rams & then cut; he's not a Termination Pay problem.
OG - Stephen Peterman
C - Kyle DeVan
P - Daniel Sepulveda
K - David Buehler
LS - Lonnie Paxton
DE - Dave Tollefson
DT - Marvin Austin, Rocky Bernard, & Frank Okam
MLB - Takeo Spike, Bradie James...and Phillip Dillard (j/k lol)
OLB - Thomas Howard
S - Kerry Rhodes, Atari Bigby (looks like Kenny Phillips is done)
CB - Michael Coe

I like Conner. i was just talking about who would be the the first guy I'd call in case of another injury. I actually think Conner will be the Giants' starting FB next year. Hynoski isn't the physical brute at the point of attack that Conner is. Not many are for that matter. I really admire that aspect of Conner's ability. The Giants could use that added physicality going forward.
I'm sure a team could sign 3-4 read option QBs for a fraction of the cost of a middle-tier QB and be more competitve spending the money on other areas. If you don't have a top QB, you might as well try something outside of the box IMO.
Bengals sign LB Michael Boley - Updated: October 1, 2013, 6:05 PM ET By Coley Harvey | ESPN.com - ( New Window )
Many teams could win a lot more games and spend money more wisely by taking athletic quarterbacks (like Pryor) who can run the read option and trying to develop the rest of their game - alot like the skins with RGIII. I just think that if you don't have a top 16 QB with potential to improve to more in the NFL you may as well start out with a cheap, simple, effective offensive philosophy and try to develop guys out of that system. Grow the offensive strategy with the player, but start with a ridiculously simple concept like the read option and other basic plays.
The Jags, Bucs, Vikings, etc... Really have nothing to lose, they have next to no potential at the QB position. They may as well start at the basics, playing defense, run the ball, and make an offense that is easy for the QB to play in and grow in.
How much cap space do you estimate the giants having when this season ends (before do any signings or anything else)?
If resigned how much would you estimate the cap hits to be for Linval, Nicks, and Beason?
Between cutting guys, pay cuts, restructures how much additional cap space is a realistic estimate?

Ask anytime my man: I'm gonna ask Eric to have a thread where we can just have cap questions, and then I'll answer them.
Your first Q - I'm not sure what you mean by how much cap space will the Giants have at the end of the season. Right now they are $449,536 under the cap (according to the NFLPA's Cap Report website). After the season they're going to have 35 players on the books with an Active Salary amount of $107,694,673 (click HERE to see).
Your 2nd Q about Linval, Nicks, and Beason - Their cap hits if re-signed depend on the market. Nicks is gonna look to sign for big money, and I think he's gonna get it as long as he remains healthy, even through his apparent lolly gagging thus far this season. Check out this contract year series on Nicks from overthecap.com (click HERE). Linval is gonna be interesting. I'd tweet Joel Corry (@corryjoel) or Jason Fitzgerald about that (@Jason_OTC).
Your 3rd Question - Between cutting guys, pay cuts, and restructures a realistic estimate of cap space for the Giants is gonna around 15 to $25 M.
I saw that too, lol. I give Garcia credit though for having confidence in his abilities.
