I disagree with Dave Hutchinson's assessment of this situation. I certainly don't see Cordle as the future starting center on the line. I know he's doing the job now by default, but unless he shows better technique and strength over this year, he can't be seen as the answer IMO. He may be given an opportunity to compete against someone else in camp, but can't see him winning that job.
Additionally, I don't think Boothe has done that well at Guard. I don't think he has been a major concern, but I still think he is better suited as a reserve. Perhaps the Giants would consider bringing him back to compete with Cordle at Center next year.
In my mind, the whole interior line needs to be blown up and replaced with snot-knockers and linemen that are strong enough and athletic enough to get our running game going.

A: He’s done an outstanding job. Originally he started to play, then Baas came back, then he had to go in for him during the course of the game, as well. He’s very smart. He keeps up with everything. He’s prepared to go. He has a nice demeanor about him, in terms of going into the game at whatever point. We would hope that would continue.

I re-watched the vikes game last night. I re-watch most games. He has been anywhere from horrid to bad. Now I will say he has gotten better since the Jets preseason game where he should have been told to turn in his equipment during the next cuts. Had that happened we would most likely be in better position right now with having a different body on the roster. Instead we stayed with him and his improvement from laughable to bad is now being described as doing a decent job. What a joke. The guy is physically over matched and many times is standing around blocking nobody. He is asked to get to the second level and take on linebackers and far too often is chasing his assignment toward the play.
Does anyone employ copy editors these days?
When posters do not like a player's productivity, the coach quoted(differing with the posters opinions) is often dismissed as in, "he must have meant something else, it's not what I see."
Sorry, one can't have it both ways..No one is more credible than TC, because he's rarely effusive..I have NEVER seen him use the word outstanding and Sinorice Moss in the same sentence.Ever..Compliment him at times? Sure. Outstanding? Never heard such a word uttered by TC towards SM

Nicks is the exact opposite. An extremely talented player whose effort and focus has recently been suspect. So Coughlin calls him out.
The fact that Baas went back in even though he was probably 70% tells you what TC really thinks about Cordle.
They are a bunch of untrained fans who watch a game twice and then think they are Vince Lombardi.
And besides, they are already wrong. Cordle was supposed to be a disaster according to these pundits and he hasn't been.

Appeal to authority all you want. Jim Cordle is an atrocious lineman, and the wretched performance of the line is plain for all to see. Did you notice how dramatically the line play suffered after Baas went out?

Pugh and Beatty are the only certain keepers, and maybe re-sign Boothe to another one-year contract because you can't replace everybody in one year with so many other pressing needs (TE, LB, probably DE, probably WR, maybe CB, etc.).
The rest who don't retire or get cut can come to camp and compete, but most of them had better be gone by Labor Day.
I can understand the angst about Cordle but do you all have such short memories as to when O'Hara came in as a center?

This team has made mistakes..And i'm not saying it's a mistake now, but after 2 years plus, and the line has not gotten any better, you have to change something..
Coughlin messed up big time back in 2010 vs the Eagles (D-Jax) when he reinserted O'Hara into a lineup that was humming. He is not beyond reproach. Here they are making a mistake by playing a player who has no value as a starter and little value as a backup save for being able to make the calls correct.
Based on years of lurking that description fits all of us at one time or another.
This OL has been changed how many times? How can anyone make a flat statement about this line? Except of course that it's an ever changing unit.
Based on the fact that cohesion starts in an actual game under stress, we have to be reasonable about the outcome after each change. for anyone (YOU?) to insist that the line be changed without seeing the coaching tapes and hearing the coaches breakdown of each player is like counting the fish in the pond by spitting in it and watching the ripples.
You don't have the facts. I must say this and I can't emphasis this enough. seeing the game live and seeing the game on TV is NOT the same game! The closest thing to seeing the game live is the coaches tape where the entire field is seen and the effects of players not on the TV screen can be evaluated.
Now if you want to acknowledge that and say based on what you see and your information this is what you think should happen? Fine, but to go hog wild with your feelings ....is also fine but then since I don';t think you looking at this in the overall picture I have to be sarcastic and say......
