he can block and is a good receiver who knows how time breaking out of the backfield to be a receiver.

Assuming we get Wilson back, Brown, Hillis, and Wilson will be a nice trio to work with. Hopefully Hillis can teach something to wilson about pass protection.

not sure what you're watching but all he does it lower his head and get 2 yards if he's lucky. he needs good blocking to gain anything. he's slow as hell.

I don't think they move on from him. In fact, I think he might end up on this roster next season too. Him and Conner.

is as pass blocker. FB lead blocking is something very different. I like Conner as a lead blocking FB.

Unless Hillis starts acting out, he'll be part of our RB rotation next year. Connor has been a beast at times, imo..

get Jacobs healthy enough to play a game, then cut him. Why IR him and pay him for every remaining game? The Giants may need those couple of bucks we'd save to bring someone else in without borrowing even more money from next year's cap.

for example. They don't lose their jobs with TC..BJ was a pick-up who started because we had no one else..Hillis is a better player and certainly a receiver..There is NO allegiance to BJ this time around. He was a starter by attrition..

will be an interesting discussion in the offseason. I don't think BJ will be back. But Wilson, Hillis, Brown, and Cox all have questions. So will the Giants go with them, or use a draft pick on a RB?

Hillis the better receiver. It seems Hillis' arrival has coincided with Gilbride finally using more of a short passing game that we've been begging him for all season.

his situation is a bit tricky.

when or if Jacobs became healthy and Wilson was good to go and after Brown comes back..

now I'm not so sure.. Jacobs is a great leader and still productive.. but his hamstring is lingering..

these things sometimes sort themselves out.. but first up for us is seeing where Wilson is and Jacobs.. Brown will be activated.. then it's up to the Giants to decide.. I think Hillis might stay now.. join Brown and Cox with either Wilson or Jacobs.. depending on their health.. either Wilson or Jacobs might go on IR..

and as a mentor to the young guys however..

Its not like you have to have a good receiver at HB to throw short passes.

I think Cox is actually the safest.. because he's a rookie who's showed some promise.. Wilson is is NO danger whatsoever or being of the roster.. but depending on his healthy.. he could go on IR.. same with Jacobs and his hamstring..

I really want to see Wilson return and play well this season.. I think he could be great.. his condition is a shame.. I think TC/Reese wait for some more medical info and then that helps them make this decision.. but I'm starting to think Cox and Hillis will be half of the 4 guys we keep..

has to be a real possibility just on health alone. We don't know what the deal is there yet.

Try to give Jacobs one more shot at playing without (or through) injuries.

It would be nice to see Jacobs and Brown sharing the load on 1st down and 2nd and short. Then, Hillis on long yardage.

Cox is the odd man out, but I think they will want to try to keep him around. I'm not sure he can be stashed on the practice squad.

Until today, I thought Jernigan was an easy cut to make room for the extra RB so Wilson could take over on KO returns.

Reese really got full of himself and has been humbled.
He thought he didn't need help and "his" picks at RB were fine....1 a fumbler who can't pass protect in Wilson...2 an unproven injury prone Brown...3 and 4 undersized nobodies.

He didn't do what he did in 2007 bringing in Dreoughns.
If he hadn't been so stubborn and brought in a vet sooner we wouldn't have been 0-6.

Ditto with linebacker and getting Beason.

Beason wasn't available in a trade until he lost his job to Chase Blackburn.

Hillis. And there is certainly no comparison in pass catching. Jacobs had a good game against a very weak Bears front. Hillis runs just as hard. They run very much alike but Hillis is tougher to bring down

Hillis was a Buc to start the season.

But I agree he's a keeper. He's an excellent pass catcher. Smooth as can be with good hands. Doing a good job in pass protection too.

I love Jacobs but it seems Hillis can give the team a little more especially as an option in the pass game.

(BTW, Connor is another smooth pass catcher. I like both of the in there together.)

#3 Does not represent a"breather" for the defense

I don't that either Wilson or Cox, given Wilson's injury status or Cox (due to his inexperience), represents this factor.

Andre Brown is probably the better chain mover, but Jacobs is probably the very best pass protecting back in the NFL and still softens the defense better than any other back in the NFL.

BB56 and I have talked about this before... Hillis has very soft hands...something this offense has lacked since Tiki left. I mentioned he slow he was last week... Well... We aren't looking for 80 yard runs from him. We are looking to move the chains and rejuvenate our play action game. Hillis stays.

Take Hillis away and they are 1 dimentional. Cox was not going to get it done by himself. In fact he was taken out of the Viking game. Today, he helped to keep Eli clean, picked up some tough short yardage and was a reliable check down. No other back all season has been able to provide all 3. He was a big factor no doubt.

back in and add some speed to the ground game. It appears the O-line just may be getting on track. Wilson may have learned something watching from the sideline

Jacobs should be odd man out. He's injury prone, older, slower, not great hands, not a great short yardage back. If we like his leadership and mentoring ability, make him an assistant coach.
