Peyton has been probably the most important factor in these 2 wins aside from a bend but don't break defense. I don't expect Jacobs to stay healthy in a full time role. We know we can't expect Brown to carry the load. Hillis runs tough, moves the pile and so far, has been very durable despite taking some big shots. He won't be taking a seat when those 2 come back will he?
Provide Eli with much more protection and would help
in the dreaded red zone.
Good grief.
I think you IR Wilson (the kid needs more time and the neck scares me) and go with Jacobs, Hillis, Brown, and Cox for the rest of the year. In 2014, keep 4 RBs, go with Wilson, Hillis, Cox and a FA/Draft pick. I just can't see Jacobs contributing long term and he doesn't play specials, and Brown is one hit away from missing time it seems.
Dont need him
The Giants looked putrid early in the year in their 21 and 12 personnel...now that formation is getting them to 2nd and 6 and 3rd and 2. Those are winning downs, and a big departure from the 3rd and longs we saw with Wilson/Hynoski.
The offense has to change out of necessity due to the state of the OL. Hill is is the best guy to play RB in that new way. IMO it isn't even a question, and it would be a grievous error from the coaches to try and change back once Brown and/or Wilson return.
