Didn't take notes for the Beason interview with Papa and Pioli
but a paraphrased summary:
-He plays better when given more responsibility. Loves having the helmet with plays called. Said John Fox would change up terminology almost every week on Wednesdays, so he's used to picking up any change(s) in terminology
-Says his perception of TC was different as an opponent as he's definitely a "player's coach."
-Says yes he's anal about time but is so prepared even down to the minutia and EVERY DAY comes in with super energy and always has something each day to present to the team that is upbeat and useful..Very positive coach
-Was told when he met with Reese and TC that they(Giants) need someone on the field who can organize, control and take charge of things. Beason said he simply told them, "no problem."
-At dinner last night with some of the players, Jacobs was recounting how when he was in SF, TC would call from time to time to see how he was doing..Needless to say BJ loves TC
-Pioli recounted when he first met TC he(TC) had not played a game yet with the New Jaguars and was in Browns' camp taking notes and Pioli was a gofer for the Browns..He said he could not believe how TC treated him as though Pioli was an important member of the Browns..before TC left, he went out of his way to thank Pioli for all that he did for him, which stunned Pioli
Those who may have listened to the interview can correct anything I misheard or add anything I may have forgotten to add..

"simplify"?
Now we just need a JerseyJoe 7-point plan
TC = class act...which is partly why ownership won't fire him. TC is leaving on his own terms I think.
I don't recall the last time a HC called a TO when his QB was under center or in a shotgun, it's usually the QB who calls it
All coaches show some inconsistent treatment. Do you think Parcells was consistent in the way he treated LT verses other players? Part of it is what has he done for him in the past.
he has been head and shoulders better than any LB we have had in half a decade... whats the deal w/ that?
Second of all, his individual play and the residual effects on the rest of the D have already backed up this deal. Now, we can only hope he was serious when he said last week that he didn't want to play for any other franchises in his career. It sounds like he really loves Coughlin already. I would love to see him re-sign and anchor this D for a few years.
A: He’s again upbeat, has that personality, an outgoing personality, a very confident personality. He’s had success in the game. He loves the game. He speaks with an aura of authority of having been there. I think the players have responded well to his aggressive style. Let’s face it, he’s an aggressive football player. He’s looking to make hits and tackles and I think the players have responded to that.
Coughlin is well aware of the playclock. The reason this crap is happening is because Eli has to spend 10 seconds telling the new guys wear they SHOULD be lined up after the play-call.
I think this will be less of a factor moving forward.
He said, we were the first team ever to finish 9-7 amd win the Super Bowl, so why not be the first to ever make the playoffs after starting out 0-6.
Sure, it may be unrealistic, but if that attitude pervades the entire Lockerroom, then who can question the motivation of this entire squad?
