who's going to be waived/released next week?

Andy in Boston : 10/28/2013 5:48 pm
with Andre Brown due back....and possibly Wilson coming back, and with Robinson possibly getting healthy, who's getting released?
I'm guessing Pascoe could be on the chopping block...and James could get reassigned to practice squad. Or maybe one of the linebackers? Rivers/Bradford?

thoughts?
my point

with robinson getting healthy.....and the continued infusion of Donnell and the emergence of Conner....I'm thinking Pascoe is expendable.
They only need one spot
BillT : 10/28/2013 5:52 pm : link
If Jacobs doesn't get completely healthy he would seem like a strong possibility, sad to say. James maybe but only if Webster is 100%.
And neither Robinson or Donnell has done anything
BillT : 10/28/2013 5:55 pm : link
I think Pascoe is safe.
If I had to guess right now, I'd say that the Giants place Jacobs on
Optimus-NY : 10/28/2013 6:02 pm : link
Injured Reserve to make room for Andre Brown's return. According to our very own Pattie, Jacobs has a salary split in his deal if he winds up getting hurt and going on season ending IR, giving the Giants a little extra room under the cap as a result. This seems like the logical move now.

Donnell was getting reps with starters yesterday. I don't think he gets cut.
I never said he was
BillT : 10/28/2013 6:05 pm : link
He wondered about Pascoe and I said I though he was safe not that Donnell was in danger.

what are they going to do with Kuhn?
IR for Kuhn
BillT : 10/28/2013 6:12 pm : link
There just isn't room. They'd have to release a DT or DE. Not happening.

I wonder

if they are setting something up with Rogers and his knee.
Only if there is really something wrong
BillT : 10/28/2013 6:22 pm : link
Rogers has been very good. I'm sure they'd hate to lose him even with Hankins around.
I hope Rogers
Andy in Boston : 10/28/2013 6:24 pm : link
is OK....he's a force....even if his snaps are limited.
He's the 350 pounder that this team has missed for years. He brings a presence to this d-line.
My Guess
Pat from Inside Football : 10/28/2013 6:36 pm : link
Wilson to IR. And if they activate Kuhn off PUP, it could be Rogers to IR.

Which year was last year we carried 3 qb's on roster?
Pat!! Wow! That would be something
BillT : 10/28/2013 6:52 pm : link
The Giants are careful injury wise and that's a factor. But Wilson gone! If you call this one correctly, you are the ---man!
Unless
AcidTest : 10/28/2013 6:54 pm : link
Rogers is really hurt, I'd like to see Kuhn to IR so he can really heal up and be ready for next year. What can we possibly get from him this season? He hasn't had any football for a year.

It's only my guess. They cold also do another surprise move that no one has thought of, though I can't see them carrying 5 RBs and a FB unless there is concern about someone's health.
unless Rogers has a major injury
GIANTSr01 : 10/28/2013 7:02 pm : link
Kuhn to ir or cut.

Offensively either a TE or RB has to go to make room for brown since at this point I don't see them cutting painter. My guess is Robinson (via setback) or Wilson hit it.

Right. And that's why I think Jacobs is the likely solution. But we appreciate the insight. Thanks.
If Jacobs is cut/IR
BigBlue2112 : 10/28/2013 7:41 pm : link
can he still travel with the team? I love how the guy coaches up the RB's and gets into the game
I agree about Wilson
The Natural : 10/28/2013 7:57 pm : link
The lack of any info on him is troubling.
I think Pat is right. Wilson to IR makes the most sense.
Red Dog : 10/28/2013 8:04 pm : link
That would still leave an RB rotation of Hillis, Jacobs, Brown, and Cox. And that's some serious beef there, too.

Robinson to IR is the other move that makes great sense. The JPP of Tight Ends hasn't played much at all this season (again!), and they already have 3 other TEs on the roster. It would be nice to find out if they have anything there, but they also need to find out if they have anything in Donnell and he's healthy enough to play.

no reason to cut Kuhn.
Great White Ghost : 10/28/2013 8:04 pm : link
I agree with Pat. That's makes the most sense. Wilson and rogers to IR, Kuhn and Brown activated.

There isn't anything Rogers can do that Kuhn can't.He's younger and under contract next year. He doesn't get cut.
even if Wilson were healthy, I don't see him getting a lot of snaps
oipolloi : 10/28/2013 8:10 pm : link
Peyton Hillis has been tremendous picking up blitzers and just has that veteran sense of when to drift into the flat to be an outlet for Eli

And if Andre Brown is healthy, that leaves Wilson clearly behind those two. Throw in his ball security issues and I don't see Coughlin giving Wilson more than a handful of snaps.

Kuhn?
Doomster : 10/28/2013 8:55 pm : link
Another BBI 7th round legend.....I don't think that leg has come around...IR/cut....
I'd love to see Painter cut...
Big Blue Blogger : 10/28/2013 9:05 pm : link
...because it would mean Nassib has shown signs of life in practice.

If Webster and Hosley are healthy, James is the sixth CB on a five-corner roster, so he's in jeopardy.

The obvious guys, though, are Wilson and Jacobs, since we're talking about making room for a running back.

I like what he's brought back to the team in terms of fire and passion. Love seeing him coach up the guys on the side. Can anyone else envision a transfer to an assistant coaching role next year?
